Not all the banks are willing to give non-collateral loans, but still there is a certain number of them that can do it. Here are the top three options you can give a try and get such a loan for your small business.

1.Diamond Bank Plc

This bank is willing to provide a small business owner with a small non-collateral loan. They have a range of loan products, such as instant loans, revolving credit, etc.

2.First Bank Nigeria

The good news is this bank works with businesses from all backgrounds and sectors of economy. They have a certain psychometric test for a business owner to pass and then they can get the loan without any collateral.

3.Stanbic IBTC Bank

This bank has more requirements to meet for business owners to get the loan without securing it with their possessions. For one, it demands them to provide the CVs of all key business team members and full names and address information. They also need you to submit your cash flow account for at least 12 months.

Times without number we might have found ourselves at difficult financial positions which could be eerily frustrating and embarrassing to some extent.

Brilliant business ideas, unprecedented market opportunities that even a blink will see whisked away, untimely SOS calls such as school fees for your kids, their monthly pocket money,or emergency cash calls from relatives. Unbelievable market offers at cash strapped periods especially when pay day is still a couple of weeks out is always frustrating and mostly negates growth. Securing loan from friends, neighbours or colleagues could often lead to disappointment and turning towards banks that would demand all sorts of collateral and documentation to secure a paltry loan could leave you drained and more still, opportunity lost.

Neocash finance enterprise is an emergency fund rescue option proffered to help manage and salvage the above mentioned situations and many more with uniform minimal interest rate on loans. For more info, call 07044891654.

Are u just starting up. Also, is the business you want to use it for the type that will give you quick returns as well as has a high rate of cashflow? My friend, if none of these two can be aligned to your business then even if you get a loan without collateral remember that you're going to pay interest.

Seasoned industry players ( not bankers) advised that bank loans are not healthy for business starters.

My piece.

it is not only banks that can grant a loan. A well to do individual can be of help. Some are referred to as angel investor. though they are not common and can only be approached through friendly contacts if its a business loan that promises them returns that are higher that what a fixed deposit account can offer and the risk is reasonable.

talk to pple you know. they just may link you with such pple.

Loans have their place. However, loans are not essential.

All wealthy people get loans when they do not actually need them.

You sound far too desperate. You do not need money to start

your dream business; you just need the right knowledge and

the willingness to take quick action.

Why not play the game the way real millionaires do?

We need more young millionaires

If you really mean to help, nothing stops you from stating the details to help your fellow man, whether it's on the forum or not.

Unless, of course, (like your alter-ego ForConsult) you have ulterior motives, e.g selling your ebooks and stuff.

Please come out and be plain. If you want us to buy the info, come out and say so HERE on Nairaland.

Just make sure it's affordable

If you have a salary account, you could ask the bank to help you out.

I guess most bank would ask your office to give you letter of recommendation.

Did Someone not just explain what collateral is? It doesn't have to be a landed prperty, car, share certificates etc. Once the loan is secured, it could be said to have been collaterized. For salary earners enjoying overdraft facilities, their employers secure the facility through the covenant agreeed with the bank that their salaries and terminal benefits must be routed through the bank, and that is some kind of comfort to the bank.

For APGs or Project financing, there is something called domicilliation of account, which means that whatever contract you are executing with the loan from the bank, it must be paid into your account with the bank, and mind you, the bank is expected to be monitoring the extent of workdone and will be aware as soon as the money is paid because you wont be able to withdraw it as the account would have been 'liened' or put on 'post no debit' status until the bank has taken it's charges.

For the man claiming that his friend got N75M uncollaterized loan, i make bold to say it's not true. It's either you dont understand what collateral is or you are just passing a joke. While i agree your friend may not have submitted property documents (if your claim is true) He must have obtained some kind of bank guarantee from a reputable bank covering the loan before a finance house  undertook to disburse that amount, that of course depends on the nature of the facility, but the truth is, it must have been secured somehow. Otherwise, there must have been a breach somewhere along the line, and the bank will be terribly sanctioned should CBN Auditors discover it.

However, i must mention here that Microfinance loans are very friendly in structure and pattern, such that you will only require guarantors whose income would exceed a predetermined amount by the bank to disburse. E.g For N100,000 I know that some MFBs give loans once they have studied your withdrawal patterns and as soon as you provide two guarantors, but for N500,000, you will be required to get atleast one internal guarantor (a staff of the bank) if you dont have an item to collaterize the loan with, in which case the staff becomes responsible should there be a default.

There's no need for name calling.

If you are upset with the

truth being decleared here

why don't you investigate?!

Just because you think

things are imposible because of

your warped way of thinking;

doesn't mean it's con.

For anyone who cares to

know about it;

It is absolutely possible to

obtain a loan without collateral.

If you want to know how to go

about it, invest the time in finding

out.

Period.

@ poster,

What is the purpose of the loan you seek?

If you plan to start a business, what you need is equity/long term debt not a commercial bank loan. In that case, you need a venture capitalist firm like GROFIN (Diamond bank) or First Funds (First Bank). These firms will ask you for a detailed business plan, after the evaluation of your plan and identifying an exit strategy, they will advance you the funds you need structured as equity or debt. But they will likely be involved in the running of your business (like a seat on the board).

If you have been in business for a while (say one year or more), then it is very possible to get a loan from a commercial bank in Nigeria where collateral will not be an issue (but your business must be profitable and generating positive cash flows) though CBN frawns as commercial banks that lend without collateral.

If you require more clarification or have more questions, please feel free to post them

It is possible to get a loan without a collateral, but you have to do a lot of home work which include a highly marketable business plan and a good relationship with the lending bank.

Though I don't have the details at the moment but I would never join those that says 'it is not possible' because I am a possibilitist.

Why do you think the bank will give you a loan without collateral? In this global financial recession? Hell no! The banks are soon going to merge and every bank is now trying to recover the loans they have already given out.

Sure you can get a one week loan but you will have to give them papers to your house and any other property you have.
