D'banj’s real name is Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo. So how old is D’Banj now and what is he famous for?

Childhood of D’Banj
D'banj was born in Zaria (Nigeria) in a family of a military officer. His mother worked in church. He moved from place to place because of his father’s job.
Later he has even lived some time in England. D'banj’s father wanted him to follow the military career so he enrolled him to the Nigerian Military School when the baby was 11. However, D'banj didn’t want to be like his father so he quitted after 3 years, even though he was a member of the elite drum corp of the Nigerian Army.
Later he went to another military institution Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Ibara, Abeokuta where he completed his secondary school education.

How his musical career started
The older brother of D'banj taught him how to play harmonica. His name was Femi Oyebanjo and he died in a plane crash when he was seventeen.
D'banj struggled and had a lot of problems with his parents because he loved music a lot more that military things that his parents wanted him to do. You can understand it through an album track All Da Way from his debut album.
After the death of his 17-year-old brother, D'banj came back home and started playing harmonica again. He would play it to remind himself of him.
Later he realised that he could actually use his music skills. He went to different places and played music there even if there was no electricity. He remembers learning Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" after Titanic came out – he says that many girls were just crazy about him after that.
Then D'banj went to the Lagos State University to study Mechanical engineering but he also decided to quit it.
First he planned to continue studies to become a mechanical engineer in London but then he arrived in the UK in 2001, and met Don Jazzy.
He was also a musician who was trying to become a songwriter and producer. D'Banj made friends with him and started hanging around the studio working as a security guard.
Don Jazzy told D'Banj he had a lot of potential so he gave him a chance to work with him. The single "Tongolo" came out the same year.
