once, i had a failed software install that generated an 8gb file. i couldn't find the file, so i used sequoia to locate it, then i deleted it. the idea is that the tool will show you large folders on your system. these may be generated by software, or they may be dvd rips or something else.

there was a time when kaspersky was generating very big logs on my system.

the tool is simply so you can try to find what is taking up hard disk space.

ok , no vex - lets start again -

what OS are you using?

whats your hard disk size?

whats the total amount of free space on your hard disk?

navigate to drive c

the black squares show space taken up by your applications, etc. so look for the big ones. you can use the software to navigate to them

you must not delete any .sys file. the reason for recommending it is that freeing up hard disk space may help

in retrospect neototse was right though, sequoia view is not that user friendly. try windirstat. its more user friendly than sequoia view. (abeg no vex for merry go round) the idea is just so you can find exactly what is taking up your hard disk space.

as to specs

just right click on your pc and select properties, take a screenshot of what you see and post it here

first off, post your specs

also, check the info on this thread -

http://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-260529.0.html

download , install and run sequoia view

http://www.google.com/search?client=opera&rls=en&q=sequoiaview&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

this should provide you with a detailed breakdown of what is eating up your hard disk space
