I've never called my parents by their first names. It's inappropriate.

If I call my uncles and aunts Uncle ***** and Aunty ***** out of respect, why would I now disrespect my parents by calling them by their first names? I've always called them Mom and Dad.

lol, me too. i went for an interview (secondary school) when i was 9 and the first question i was asked was my father's full name. i knew the answer but couldn't say because i was sitting between my parents and my dad was looking at me. so i lied that i didn't know his name, and started crying. they probably guessed i was embarrassed cos they didn't ask for my mom's full name.

me too (actually it's Mummy & Dad). even when i'm talking to people who don't know my parents i always say 'my mum(my) or my dad'.

I call my parents by their name when im just kidding but my step mother "ma" because shes Ondo.

and she always runs her mouth about my parents and I not growing up with "real yoruba" training, but i can see where shes coming from.

She dont understand how we do in LASGIDI tho

My dad jokes that he is young and that I am older than him. When he does, I call him his first name and send him on errands. Then he laughs lol
