Lagos (eko) Who Owns It?

going through a topic i saw sm1 say lagos was metropolitian , therefore it belonged to anybody, so my question is, is Lagos part of the yoruba community or for everybody? remember twas originally named "eko" until the portugese came along with the name LAGOS,

but in my opinion, i tink it belongs to the yorubas cos iin the beginning, twas inhabited by them plus the omo onile stull naw, heheheh

lagos belongs to different set of people, first was the awori who happens to be the first settlers in lagos, then comes the benins who conquered the aworis (idejos) and started the present monarchiacal system, then came the freed slaves from euorpe and america who settles in some designated part of the island after this was the infusion of some other tribes in nigeria.Historically speaking the first settler are the owner of the land, this automatically makes the awori the owner of lagos.

its a very simple answer the wa u framed ur question however makes it less so,

Lagos is initially a part of the Yoruba land still is infact however the influx of numerous tribes into Lagos has made it more of a metropolitan than Yoruba land

that said, the Egba's are the only ones that can lay claim to Lagos as being their land
