Hakainde Hichilema, who's the richest man in Zambia, was born on June 4 in1962. He had a single mother and lived in the southern area of Monze. His life was tough. However, it had one good thing - his studies were paid off when he got to the University of Zambia, which he graduated in 1986 with BA (Bachelor of Arts) in Economics and Business Administration degree in a pocket.

Hakainde Hichilema got to MBA in Finance and after that to Business Strategy at the famous University of Birmingham, which is in the United Kingdom.
He also worked as the Chief Executive Officer of Grant Thornton Zambia (during 1998-2006) and Coopers and Lybrand Zambia (during 1994-1998).
Since then, Hichilema has reached an impressive success in business, not only locally, but internationally. A huge commercial farmer, Hichilema is already the second biggest cattle rancher in whole Zambia with about 100,000 herds of his cattle on four ranches. Hichilema is also one of the biggest meat suppliers to the local Zambian market. Hakainde Hichilema is one of Zambia’s largest exporters of different hard-currency-earning beef products. He is also one of the members of the opposition called United Party for National Development (also known as UPND), it is a popular liberal political party. He is a successful businessman and also politician serving as the President of the opposition called United Party for National Development. He was a presidential candidate, who contested four times. It happened in 2006, 2008, 2011 and just recently in 2015.
In 2006 after the death of Anderson Mazoka, Hakainde Hichilema was elected as the party's President.

He is Christian. Hichilema is married to his beloved wife, whose name is Mutinta and the couple has three kids: two boys and a girl.
