  • University of Ibadan

The University of Ibadan is the oldest university of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the well-known educational, scientific, and intellectual institution of the non-Arab zone of Nigeria. Ibadan is located in Oyo state in the southwest of the country in 8 km from the center. It has a reputation of one of the most prestigious African higher educational institutions and the intellectual centers. The Anglo-Saxon tradition borrowed the West has allowed it to develop dynamically. The Ibadan university has well-developed education infrastructure. A large number of scientific periodicals, magazines, and collections are published in it. The university was founded on the 17th of November in 1948 as Ibadan College On The Basis Of University College. For the organization of college, leaders of Ibadan have allocated the earth for 999 years to the colonial authorities. In 1962, it received the status of the university. The first prime minister of independent Nigeria became the first rector of the Ibadan University in 1963. In 1948, 144 students studied here. The number of teachers and students constantly increases. In 2005-2006 academic years, there were about 18.000 people, including 35% of graduate students and 65% of bachelors.

  • The University of Lagos

The University of Lagos, also known as UNILAG, is a research university of the federal government in the Lagos state in the southwest of Nigeria. It is the largest university in Nigeria and has a large number of faculties and directions. Many celebrities, musicians, politicians and other public figures were graduates of this university. It was found in 1962.   • Covenant University

Covenant University is located in Ota, Ogun State. This is a private Christian university and the participant of Association of Commonwealth Nigerian Universities. Last year it was recognized the best university in Nigeria by Nigerian universities commission. However, in 2016 it has taken the third position. But it doesn't say that the university has the poor quality of education. On the contrary, it has a high level and every year a great number of students who are professionals in the sphere graduate it. Besides, this institution is one of the youngest in Nigeria. It was founded in 2002. David Oyedepo, the founder, and the presiding bishop is the chancellor of university now. The university has a Christian direction. It was constructed with the help of Liberation Commission. The university has a complex structure and consists of several departments: College of Business and Social Sciences, College of Leadership Development Studies, College of Science and Technology, College of Engineering, and School of Postgraduate Studies. It also has a campus with library, different sports courts, and secondary school.

  • Obafemi Awolowo University is the oldest university, which is located in the ancient city of Ile-Ife. The university was founded in 1961 by the regional government of the Western Nigeria. In 1987, he has been renamed into Obafemi Awolowo University in honor of the late head, Obafemi Awolowo (1909-1987). He was the first prime minister of the Western Nigeria and the founder of this university. The graduate of the faculty of philosophy from Ibadan University, Oladele Ajose, became the first vice-chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University. He was at the head's position for 4 years.   • The University of Ilorin was founded in 1975 and is located in the western part of Nigeria, in the ancient city of Ilorin 300 km from Lagos and 500 km from Abuja. At the opening of the university, 200 students have come to study on educational programs. The university had several directions: Arts, Science, and Education. However, more than a half of programs were focused on the development of science. From the moment of the foundation, the number of people, studying at university, has increased from 200 to more than 20.000! At the same time, more than 3.000 teachers work in the institution. The list of faculties has also considerably extended. Now at the university, there are Faculties of Arts, Science, Education, Engineering & Technology, Business and Social Sciences, and the Pre-Clinical aspect of the Health Sciences. However, the scientific orientation is still the main goal and strength of the university. The university has several territories, on the basis of which the bakery and bookstores are located. In the territory of the campus, there is a policlinic, post office, and bank.
