local artise s are not used most times probably cause they dont want to spend the xtra cheddar, and even when they do its normally some unknown wid a horrible voice wid no concept of music

the soundtracks is rubbish and its just because the directors do multiple stuffs on the set to minimise costs, sound tracks should be done by music artise and not using a titanic soundtrack or maria carey one , personally me thinks the orientation in the industry needs a complete over haul i.e smone like kenny and d one need to turn things round there

Mr Ogidiboy, i salute ur patriotism but Nollywood is the third highest movie producing nation (after bollywood and hollywood), and not the third best movie producing country. Both categories are obviously different. We produce alot of crap and call them movies, with ur actors sounding like they have hot yam in their mouths, and the plot of these movies,

RIDICULOUS, so also the sound tracks-really do u need to have the chorus of the ost the same as that of the movie? Since when did millenium range rovers and lincoln navigators become products of the 60's and 70's-i mean, flashback scenes to when one was younger and the character is using a bug?or is it the gsm fone being used in times nitel was still struggling to have up to 10,000 lines. Only in Nollywood movies do we see such. Its about time we send our own message to the world through our own style of movie making(the indians have their music and dance sequence, the chinese and have their martial arts, hollywood has its mastery of storytelling and special effects) do we mean to say we have nothing to offer?. We've got books in this country written by Nigerians and most of us born in the 80's or earlier have read them. Books we read as kids, in secondary school, are these not worth making into movies? they are already set in Nigeria, with nigerian plots and show case our mentality and not some screenplay copied from some hollywood movie (anyone remember two can play that game, and its nigerian version break up?). has any of these self proclaimed producers ever considered turning one of the many plays show cased in the national theater into a movie?have they ever thot of doing it like the Yoruba movies-showing ur movies in the cinema before releasing into cds etc_have they? Till these "producers" who are mostly greedy,do their home work properly, carry out research on what they are planning to produce, we should continue to expect the rubbish created movies. The rate they are going it would be better to watch music videos than nollywood movies, what am i saying it is better.

@ pheena

When you produce and direct your own home movies then you can criticize others peoples work, till them please lay off the criticisms. Nollywood even with it's low budget movies it's still the third in the world.

My friend go and sit down, "Don't watch those things" just because you've been fortunate to travel out of Nigeria we won't hear word again.
