The        Body       Guard is a 1992 movie. It's not old, it's sixteen- a teenager.

I forgot It's a mad mad mad mad World. Too hilarious for words.

Casablanca ----- That's my favorite old movie of all time,I watch this movie average of once a week.In fact I'm gonna go watch it now. I wonder is there any woman alive as beautiful as Ingrid Bergman ?

How To Marry A Millionaire ----- I love Lauren Bacall, that's some woman. I'm always sad she never won an Academy Award.

The Way We Were ------ I don't like Barbra Streisand much, but at the end where she say's " Your girl is beautiful". That was movie magic.

A Star Is Born ------ The second remake with Judy Garland.

Breakfast at Tiffanys ------ This movie was amazing, but looking at Audrey Hepburn is even better, they don't make beautiful women like they used too

I don't think I'll post on this thread again. Not like I rate anyway, but I just cannot find a way around repeating myself again and again. Oldies are best talked about on a patio with lots of coffee and pets. You'll just keep scratching your head tryin to remember some film or some guy and end up saying what you or somebody else has said already. Sorry Gamine!

I just watched Casablanca (a 1940-something film)and I have to say its the best film I've ever watched. The whole storyline and the dry humour was fantastic. Also liked the Godfather trilogy.

You have a good list there and I have seen every one of them except "The untouchables", and I still give it up for Tony Montana. I just think it was a good flick.

cos the movie is overrated?

when they are good movies like

-The Untouchables

-Good Fellas

-God Father

-Casino

-Bronx's tale

-Once Upon A Time In America

even carlito's Way is better than ScarFace.

Only people that laud it so much are guidos, slow rappers and those that havent seen any other "mafia" movie other that

Thats with the exception of GODFATHER I & II and maybe goodfellas.

How could you not love Tony Montana.

3. The good, the bad and the Ugly ,  Cant recall any quote

4. Evita ,  There hasnt been a lady loved as much as Eva Peron

5. Seven brides for Seven brothers ,  (a must watch)

6. Johnny Dangerously ,  Classic

O! all most forgot , , , , SCARFACE. , , , "I am Tony Montana, you Bleep with me, you Bleep with the best".

To be continued.  . . . ,  .

I only just saw '12 Angry Men' and all I can say is wow.

The script has its faults, but at the same time the premise more than makes up for it.

It just shows you don't have to do or have too much to make a good film.

hey, you guys kip forgetting to mention the classic

wat abt Scarface, Al Pacino, also cant get my mind off "Scent of a woman" though it aint old

The Manchurian Candidate- - - -Angela Lansbury gives one of the most terrifying female performances I have ever seen.

Even Meryl Streep could not match Lansbury in the remake.

Dial M for Murder- - -My fave hitchcock movie.

kramer vs kramer- - - - -two leads were outstanding

I have seen this.

Was the oscar for best or supporting actor? Dont forget it was 1967 and a black man with an oscar was like a diamond in a through. Not nearly as common as it is today (or not!). And besides, he was already an oscar winner at this time, you want make dem give am twice? Lai Lai.

Oh, lest I forget. . . . .

In the Heat of the Night. . .Rod Steiger and Sidney Poitier

How Steiger won an Oscar and Poitier went away with nothing speaks volumes.

North by Northwest- - - -Cary Grant and Hitchcock

Sunshine Boys- - - -I always found Walther Mathau a bit guilty of overacting, but it all comes

together in this film with George Burns.

King Of Comedy- - - - - - - -Watch this to understand why De Niro is the best ever.

Citizen Kane- - - - - some say this is the apogee of cinema, it is engrossing but I think I have seen better films.

That Winehouse, i just they pity am, i hope she dosnt end up like Marilyn

Britney is even finding her feet now.

Yay, i liked Kathleen! Romancing the Stone was the first movie i saw her in

Gamine, Marilyn was the ish. She was it then o. And I think when people are the hottest in the biz, they tend to get blown out of proportion and unfortunately meet their waterloo one way or the other eg Britney, Winehouse etc.

Oh!

I also liked How To Marry A Millionaire with Marilyn Monroe, Betty Grable and Lauren Bacall. They all looked so glamorous! Those were the days when glamour looked so quixotic and surreal.

I'm  big fan of Monroe o, eventhough she had her hands in all sorts of pies.

Cool thread Gamine.

No one has mentioned Barbara Streisand yet. I particularly liked her in Funny Lady with Omar Sharif and James Caan. No one has also mentioned Marilyn Monroe who I think was spectacular in Some Like It Hot with Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon and also There's No Business Like Show Business with O'Connor (or was that Dont Bother To Knock? nah!).

Oh, and has someone mentioned Sophia Loren and that lady in Prizzi's Honour. . . whats her name again?
