Vasectomy In Men - Would You Consider It?

I have had quite a number of friends go under the knife and get the snip (the snip being a vasectomy where your tubes that carry sperm are cut/blocked as a means of sterilization).  Guys would you consider it?

How I wish so many promiscous married men will consider the new vasetcomy?

No more unplanned pregnancies/babies & dilema of how to tell wifey

For some single guys too it may actually put you in charge of procreation. No more girlfriend telling you to marry her because she's pregnant even when she's not your choice for a wife or you are not ready for marriage

I like the fact that it is reversible and the suggestion that you can get your sperm frozen for insemination as a backup!

Now am seriously tempted. If we do take in and this 4th baby turns out a girl again, I might secretly for ask for this procedure but then again, the women folk here will for my throat for my 'secrecy' but wetin man for do when the wifey want bon reach 10 if she get bonboy eh?

Surely, you can't be that ignorant?

Castration would render you impotent. A vasectomy would mean you'd still be able to enjoy intercourse in the normal way. Your Fluid simply wouldn't contain any sperm.

Ain't gonna happen.Even if i have 300 children from 70 women.

I had it done.  I have two children from two different women from two different times in my life.  After the second, unplanned pregnancy, I decided never to put my fate into a woman's hands.

The operation is minor.  Doc used a local anesthetic and I recovered later in the day.  The nurse, she told me she had 6 children and had her husband get it done.

When the women found out I had it done, they really wanted sex all the time.  Many women do not like to take birth control and I do not like condoms.

If any man wants children later on, he should consider getting their spermatozoa frozen.  It will last indefinitely and later used to impregnant any future partners.

That's cos you're a logical human being, Siena.

Its like people dont use common sense

Would you prefer to use condoms for the rest of your life while married?

Then again when you have iliterates that think the procedure includes 'cutting my penus off", Im not surprised.

If I had all the kids I wanted (maximum 3) then I'd consider the snip.

@ Fhemmmy it was quite a wicked thing to do to them. they must have felt they were the ones with a problem since he had children. One actually had a baby while married to him. he of course new it couldn't be his, but since he was hiding the fact that he had had a vasectomy, he went along with her. the family however knew and someone told her. She eventually left him.

It was a very cruel thing he did to those women.

Wicked man.

He could have at least told them, so that they can decide what is best for them

0
Avatar
Newbie

Exactly! he prolly be telling them not to worry that when the times comes it will happen blah blah knowing fully well that time aint coming anything.

0
Avatar

@ Sissy, it is grossly unfair and it caused the women a lot of pain. He did it for his own selfish reasons. which I'm afraid is why a lot of people do things.

I heard about it too!! apparently SOME naija men who already have a family back home, when they come to US to marry for visa, they get it done so that they don't give the oyinbo belle. it usually becomes a problem when u divorce ur american wife with a child.

My fathers Friend did that a long time ago. he had 7 sons and 1 daughter and decided it was enough. Funny enough he then went on a marrying spree, and the women could not understand why they could not have children, apparently he hadn't told them about the vasectomy.

My NIgerian husband had a vasectomy at my request. It was easier for recovery and a cheaper surgery than for me to have a procedure done.

Sex was even more fun afterwards.

We get i the heat and don't have to ruin the action by stopping to put on a condom.

My body disgrees with various birthcontrol pills, we have a boy and girl --- a perfect family. No more kids for us unless by miracle God wants to impregnte me==at that point I'd just accept HE wants us to have more kids.

I don't think it's advisable.

Olorun maje ( God forbid bad thing.)

0

I could do it, if it removed the stress of unwanted pregnancies after we'd had all our kids.

The procedure's a lot easier for men than it is for women, the recovery time's shorter too.

TESLIM,

For some strange reason there are people who don't read or understand what is being discussed before making ridiculous statements.

VASECTOMY is NOT the same thing as STERILIZATION

Fntekim,

What if a SLIMY DOCTOR cuts your wife's Womb or Uterus; Then what?

0
Avatar
Newbie

My people,

i might do it oh. but the thot of a slimy

doctor playing with my kinny is quite scary.

What if he mistakenly cuts of my john thomas?

Just my 2 cents.

If you werent so slow, you would have read where they said it's REVERSIBLE.

Reasons I can never get sterilized. These are ppl I know. But can't mention name.

1. My longtime childhood friend. He's dad only got two of them. Now bleeping friend is in the States. Elder sister getting married. Man and mama still lil young. They're lonely now. Always feeling like someone being around them. My friend ain't getting married, cos i'll be like next year, nah maybe 2years, oh! its gonna november. Sister ain't giving 'em grandson yet. I dunno they've staying alone now for 6years. I feel sorry everytime I see them

2. This gentleman in the hood was travelling home and all 4kids and wife died. He's bleeped for life. Can't start a new life.

Amen.

If you were a lady I would have volunteered to cut you myself

But alas, I only treat female patients.

I have gone thru the article.

However I'll still do it and with GOd on my side nothing will happen to my kids to make me want to reverse my decision.

Zeb,

Its true that old method of Vasectomy where there is a cut in the testicles had a 50-50 reversal rate but the new type called non-scalpel vasectomy removes all the risk.

Certain tubes in the testicles are clipped together just like the female closing of the womb, the clips can be removed with minimum fuss

Well there's always castration.

One of the things i love Nairaland for is that it is not only entertaining it

is also educating. I am sure there are some people who just heard of vasectomy

for the first time in this thread, NO DISRESPECT. Personally i am not for it, i hate anything

operations and i have asked God to remove anything that will make me under go an

operation. But this is my own choice and other people have theirs. Whatever you

think is good for you, go for it. That is what i normally do. don't waste my time considering

other people's opinion.

Still me

So long as anybody interested in the procedure is aware of the consequences, it's up to him. I can't undergo such a procedure cos I believe I've been created designed to adapt to any situation-whatever happened to self control in humans? If you ask me, you can live a healthy and balanced life without any additional alterations to my body. Besides I'm not a machine to be 'upgraded' or 'modified' to be any better than I already am.

0

Well, vasectomy is harm free reversible, depending on the option you chose. Gys shouldnt be scared of doing it but like some said, Its a free world, everybody to his/her own opinion.

your apology is not enough drop down wherever you are and give me 20 pushups!!

They are not being called ignorant for not wanting to get it but for spreading false rumors and garbage about the procedure.

I'm going for one after i have my two lovely daughters -that will be in like 6 yrs time. That way we wont be saying "remember that day we didnt use a rubber" or "darling, i forgot to take one pill last month, that's why"

@English1,

hey, girl, pls don't in anyway insult the Nigerians in this forum.Making a generalization based on the comments of a few guys here is really baseless. And besides,I even doubt your professed knowledge of human Biology. There are lots of high school students in here based in Nigeria who can teach you stuffs in Biology.ou've got to have a rethink on the IQ of Nigerians.

On a general note, taking to vasectomy is highy preferential. He who thinks he needs it should go for it.I have never thought about it-but if it's "necessary" then for real,I'll go for it.

And when will that be?

0
Avatar

As for me, I like been the way The creator made me. No Doctor is going to cut me

open to do any funny thing to me reversible or no reversible. But tht foes not mean

Vasectomy is wrong. It is not but then it is a matter of like and dislike and no man

should be called an ignorant simply cos he doesn't want himself cut.

0
Avatar
Newbie

Thank God the process is reversible.

Im all for it. I'll get it done when Im through with having kids

0
Avatar

Alot of women get their tubes tied. Again, it's reversible so its not that big of a deal.

Vasectomy,Non-Scalpel Vasectomy ,reverse process e.t.c, can i do it? hmmm, my white wife said we should do it after having our last born(we got two already), i turned around and i told her to block her womb, guess what she said, u r right , she said no, WOMEN!!!, why can't women block their wombs?

@English1, Please don't turn this forum to war of countries. We all knw the kind of human biology thought in England.

underage sex+underagemun=council flat+benefits.(maybe we shuld call it biomath)

I don't know as well as a 'mature' woman would, but i know that there are pills u can take, and there are times a woman can have sex and have a very low chance of concieving, in addition there's that 2 day pill, if you think you're pregnant.
