Noted,

But if you had , erudite as you are, read the blurb regarding the forum before voicing your complaint perhaps you would not have found it necessary to do so?

Delicious foods and how to prepare them. Anything about food or drink goes here. This is the Nairaland kitchen!

You may not think fried plantain is a delicicious food, nor would you like to know which type of plantain is best for frying, cooking as fufu or pottage etc, but judging from the responses you may well be in the minority?

my point, ma'am, is this entire thread is pointless and has no justification for its existence. of all the serious stuff you can ponder on, it has to be fried plantain? this topic has neither entertainment nor educational merits and adds no value to nairaland.

you might as well talk about the stuff i posted earlier.

and it seems all that fried oily plantain has deadened your sense of sarcasm.

Yes o I do love me some plantains . @ times U get them @ the African store and sometimes in Jamaican/Mexian store.

Dont they derive dodo-ikire from the extra soft ones, and the not so ripe ones get boli from them abi (Boli ati epa delicacy, delicious, )

some people just dont have anything to do. i always say that seun should start charging 10 naira per post, perhaps then people would post only meaningful stuff. like:

how do you like the air you breathe

should the sky be less bluer

if grass isnt green, what color should it be

water is tasteless; true or false

my sh1t is brown, what color is yours

do you like yourself? if not, why?

I like mine very ripe and I like it fried until very golden brown. I never understand how people say they have fried plantain and it is the same color it was before it entered the fryer

@Toyinrayo,

You have just made yourself an enemy in me. How can you raise a topic like this causing so much mouthwatering for me especially when one is in  the office and feeling so hungry. I wish I can smack you for doing this.

Anyway, I love mine real soft and fried brown like the one in one of them plate.

The totally green ones are better cooked and made into fufu.

The yellow one, not too ripe is better for frying.

I think the softness of the plantain deternines how well it comes out if cut in different shapes.

The riper the plantain, the bigger the pieces have to be so that it doesn't absorb too much oil.
