Indomie, Chikki Or O! Noodles: Which One Tastes Best?

Yes, they have alike tastes only that indomie is the market holder.

Also, how come people don't like the Onion & Chicken variant and Jollof Indomie.

I also wonder what happened to Maggi 2 minute noodles and Indomie Shrimp noodles

The answer to this question mainly depends on two things: your personal taste preferences and on how you cook the noodles. First of all, Indomie has become the first brand to introduce noodle in Nigeria. The other two have come later on. That explains the popularity of Indomie, although some folks say that O noodle tastes better.

A good tomato sauce can significantly improve the taste of any noodle brand. So, learn a few quick recipes and enjoy a variety of tastes daily.

Cyberfreak: Noodles in Far East are 1/4 the price of Nigeria believe it or not! But hey for them it is their basic food. Breakfast lunch and dinner!

You seem to know a lot about Noodles. Is it possible to chat in private? maybe on personal email? I need to ask you few things if you don't mind!

Thanks much appreciated!

Cyberfreak thanks for the info.

They are slightly cheaper elsewhere, especially in the far east where they originated from.

Do you think the nigerian market is ready for more brands? or is it already overcrowded?

Thanks!

A lot?

Nah.

Don't think so. I have no special knowledge about them. Only just a little. It depends on the questions u want to ask. . . .all the same, you can send a mail to me here: deleted.

Indomie and chikki cost between #35 and #40. It depends on where you buy from. Its been more than a year since I bought O! noodles so can't really help with that.

Chikki tastes like rubber, Mimee tastes like spoilt onions, so likewise O! Indomie Jollof made me feel like I had been cheated. I love Indomie Peppersoup but my all time favourite is Indomie Chicken Flavour, with boiled eggs especially. Kai, I am hungry.

I have only tried Indomie Chicken and Beef. I didn't know what the big deal was all about, because a noodle is a noodle, but I will say I love Indomie. It was the one of few meals that I could eat on my visit to Nigeria this past November, because the food and water were not agreeable with my stomach. I was so scared to eat anything other than bread, cream crackers, indomie, and drink sprite with salt. INDOMIE is the Best O'

It's interesting to see such vibrant discussion on a type of food considered by many as rather plain, un-traditional and lacking in taste. But, I guess, for those of us in this generation, noodles - whether Maggi 2minute, Indomie, Mimee, Chiki, O - have come as a welcome delicacy for those who are either too tired (or too lazy) to cook, or simply can't put 2 and 2 together in the kitchen.

It has got so bad that a lot of womem (sorry, girls) in our generation cannot really cook, due to an addiction to such fast, plaid and bland ready-made meals, ala noodles.

I suggest we look at that side of the argument: why too many people (ladies, especially) are relying on the the simplistic noodle cuisine, instead of learning how to cook real satisfying meals the whole family cna enjoy.

But, if I must contribute to the popularity contest, because I have done some research on this matter, I think the Chikki brand is the best for me. It is rather more filling than the rest of them. Plus, you can agree with me, the packaging is more 'mature'. I rest my case.

I think mimee onion chicken flavour is the best, indomie is too salty, if i wanted to prepare indomie I do not add the whole seasoning just dont like it.

Do you know the problem with most of you who responded to this post? It is your inability to undestand what taste and culture is. In any case, indomie can never be the best. I have tried most of them but none is as good as Mimi Noodles. It is rich in nutrients. However, it is still not the best too.

Chikki is really ok,the spice is da bomb, but i can bet why many people havent even tried eating it, the package isnt really attractive like that of Indomie.i can bet if the cover is redesigned to attract people, its popularity will surpass that of indomie.

O! noodles all the way, take time to taste the curry or onion flavours, mmmmmm. the seasonings are the best around and the noodle cake does not go sogy always sprigy. Have u tried the cake with milk and sugar? or cooked with a lilltle extra pepper and onions?

Indomie won't be the market leader for long and thats why they are making a lot of noise on radio/TV( from my experience in brands, when u start loosing market share u begin to make noise to ginger up interest again)

Mimee, a lot of boomsha but no substance quality is very low, taste poor.

chikki, has size goinf for it but the seasoning is zero, infact most mallams buy chikki for the size and cook it with O! noodles seasoning.

A few more brands are available but they are not worth the mention.

Indomie is still the best noodles in Nigeria.

O' noodles, is dry and practically tastless. I've not tried Mimee yet.

I love all flavours of indomie but really love onion when i prepare with tomotoes, pepper and even more onion.

Don't forget the grilled or fried chicken or a boild egg and if you want it really nice, you can have it with some fried plantain.

Delicious right, you can say that again!

There should be a poll here. I'll like to see how people vote.

Had the same dilemma when I came here. All the American noodle brands are tasteless. When I went home, my cousins say the same thing. I think you can purchase Indomie on Amazon.com for 50c/pack, and some Asian shops also carry them and other foreign brands.

Maggi instant noodles used to be my favorite until it was phased out.

I'll go with indomie now . . . remember the days my brothers and i used to sneak out of the house to buy packets . . . we would soak it for an hr in cold water just to make it last longer.

There has to be something about O'Noodles,  My Kids who'd not taste (un-stewed) indomie, Mimee and Chikki have fallen in love with O'Noodles even when there's no colouring to it.

Indomie is facing stiff competition-o, Mimee and O'Noodles are almost catching up,

Me sef, I prefer the Mimee advert sha-o,
