Is There Any Romantic Nigerian Food?

I want to cook something for my woman, like a candle-lit dinner or something, but i want it to be nigerian and creative. Pounded yam(my specialty)is too heavy,it'd prolly give her gas, rice is so damn boring,i want something creative nd original.

Most of the suggestions are damn right funny and unbelievable.

Anyways, i second "secretz" option.

I could try it out myself,

@dating scope,i dont need to 'make' my woman love me-she already does. And @all the others suggesting various concoctions,i dont think passing out or sudden death is very romantic.

Fhemmy the one Adaku posted. The first one with the moinmoin. That's the one I was looking for. That would go well without the moinmoin. We don't want any unneccesary escape of gas during some serious romance from the beans LOL

Nigerian foods are heavy. Therefore in being romantic you’ld have to be inventive yet traditional

To tide you over:

1. Try heart-shaped caramelized or chocolate covered chin-chin. 2. Light and fluffy puff-puff sprinkled with cinnamon/confectioner’s sugar. 3. Cut garden eggs (Afufa) with ose –oji. (I promise . . . your mate will be blinking back tears before dinner). 4. Fermented oil bean (Ugba) composed with the duo of stock fish and crayfish (pls. . . no mago mago. . . . this is worth every second of the effort) and wrapped in leaves. 5. Bite-sized tapioca servings soaked in warm water ,  . ,  of course you know this goes with coconut (smiling. . . . . just before  the main koko)

Staying over:

1. Asaro (yam porridge) perfectly whipped with uziza leaves and crayfish. 2. Nkwobi a la carte i.e  served with sliced white  onions and exotic spices. . . don’t forget the chilled tombo liquor. 3. Char-grilled peppered steak (suya) . . . no wine. . . no pure water. . . no fanta. . . . .just cold beer . . .otherwise burantashi will do.  4. Simmering isi ewu /goatmeat pepper soup

5. Smoked fish over creamy vegetable or “point and kill” .

Hope this brings romance back to your life

slicing and dicing veggies?

You can buy precut ones in the supermarket.

or you can always order out.

Just saying- your options are still open.

0
Avatar

Fried rice is too complicated. Slicing and dicing all the veggies will waste time. Besides,i never could cook fried rice very well;it's either the sizes of the carrots/other stuff are too big/small or one thing or the other.

0
Avatar

Or fried/baked fish like tilapia or croaker.

once again, stock up on mints for afterwards.

Rice is also good, I guess. Possibly the Basmati kind if you want something unusual (for your girlfriend).

But generally, you rarely go wrong with fried rice.
