Is Nigeria A Developing Or A 3rd World Country?

I am often confused, annoyed and belittled when reading both local and foreign newspapers and my potentailly great country, Nigeria, is refered to a 3rd world country. I prefer been refer to as a Developing Country/Nation.

Come to think of it, what are criteria for nation classifications??

What do you think?

Is it not a case of calling us a lesser human being?

Why Must Nigerians Abroad Marry Nigerians?

Nigerian Marrying Their Own Kind

Okay i wouldn't say this is a problem but i just want u guy's opinion. Well i have been in the states now for about 10 years with my family and i am at that point in my life when i need to settle down and stuff.

The problem is that my parents will not support me marrying a foreigner, it has to be a nigerian girl. Well i really don't have a problem with that but my deal is why do our parents have close minds about their kids marrying outside of the race or even ethnic grp and must i say that it is a tall task for me now the fact being that there are no Nigerian girls where am at and I haven't been in nigeria in 10 years.

I mean are Nigerian girls any different from othe races, shouldn't it all be about who you fall in love with?

Is This The Beginining Of The End For Uk Illegal Immigrants?

Welcome to Britain, the most accommodating Country in Europe.

It is the second home of Africans( most especially Nigerians).

It could be recalled that the influx of immigrants was further encouraged by the Labour government headed by Mr Tony Blair since 1997, who believes the foreigners contribute a very significant GDP to UK economy.

Now, the Labour government are fast losing popularity among the populace. Imagine them losing 250 seats in the last local election.

The accusing finger is pointed at lapses of the government on "immigration" among other things, in fact head has rolled in Home Office.

Many people says the labour government are "soft" on immigration and that every tom, privates and harry now enter, live and work in Uk.

The latest report is on five Nigerian illegal immigrants who were caught at Home office(Immigration Department).

Please read this link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4995764.stm and

Is this the pointer to what will happen when ID card is finally introduced in UK?

What Is The Best Way For Nigeria To Do Business With Other Nations?

I've not done enough research on this but I think it would be nice if Nigeria does not tie her economy to some foreign national bank by not using Dollars or Pounds for her transactions.

I would hereby like to suggest a "trade by batter" instead.

Any suggestions?

Should I Return To The UK To Work? (I Have HSMP Visa)

Please i just want to know what people in the house think about my situation and what they would do if in that situation.

I did my masters in the UK and was lucky to get an HSMP visa in January 2006, but before i could get a job, something tragic happened and i had to return to Nigeria. With the situation of things then, i was hoping to get a job in Nigeria and stay with my family. However getting a job as been pretty difficult here, forget the foreign degrees, its all about who you know. Although i have received calls from some organisations about their employment processes, but dont know when they will call me for any of these and nothing is sure yet. Now i have lost 6 months on my HSMP visa from the initial 1year granted and i am thinking  of going back to the UK. What would you do if it was you, would you continue staying in Nigeria with your family and hoping to find a job or would you travel back to the UK?
