Natural birth control methods work well if you know how to use them. Calculating your safe period is a tricky thing and it does not provide you with the 100% guarantee of avoiding unwanted pregnancy. You can master this method or you can use it in combination with other methods described in the article below. The single fact you need to know is this: there is no method to guarantee you 100 percent results in avoiding pregnancy. Each and every one of them leaves the chances of conceiving a baby. Safe period is not completely safe!

Such calculations are not very easy to make. However, if you stick with the natural family planning method, they can help you to avoid pregnancy. There is a range of steps you should follow to make sure you can calculate the safe period.

First of all, you should realize that there is no “completely safe” period. A woman runs certain risks of getting pregnant throughout the entire period cycle. However, at some points of it the chances are much lower. Now, you need to use a complex approach to the calculations. As a rule 12-18 days of the period (from its first menstruation day) are considered to be safe. However, you need not only to monitor and mark the days on the calendar, but also take your base body temperature daily for up to three months in a row. Only then you have good evidence of figuring out your safe days.

Listen babe, it is very easy for a woman to count her circle, if u follow dis guide lines well I'm sure u won't find it difficult with counting ur circle.

Get a calender and count 15days including the first day of ur period.

Check mark d 15th day

Also check mark 3days to dat 15th day

Check mark 3days after the 15th day

U will find out dat u've checked marked 7days already

These 7days are known to be ur ovulation/fertile days, it is also known as ur unsafe period meaning if u have sex any of these days there is a 90% chance of u getting pregnant. Any other day apart from these important 7days are ur FREE PERIOD.

Being that a "safe period" has been disproven medical for nearly 2 decades now. A woman is fertile at any time during her cycle including during her menstrual period. Now women ovulate once every 6-45 days depending on the female. You can either track your mucus levels to determine when you ovulate or more effectively have a fertility study done to know your bodies egg cycle.

Sometimes the ovulation calculation doesn't count; cos I had sex on the first day after my last period (6th day of my period week) and tot I was safe but was shocked when my PT result came out positive after a delayed period the next month. And I wondered how possible??

My dear sister,

The first step is to check you fertility status(you and your husband). If it's normal then do the following: from the first day of your menses begin to count as one to the 16th day. from the 10th day to the 16th day everything being equal will give you pregnancy 100% sure.

If you do this and it doesn't work, then there is an internal problem that needs to be reversed naturally for both of you. I strongly advice that you get "The Natural Principles For A Vibrant Health And Long Life Vol. 1&2" at www.drugsfreelife.com. The book is a natural health compendium that will greatly help you get your desired result and even how to choose the sex of your baby 100% guaranteed.

Stay bless and happy married life.

Ceasyc, you are in the UK tell her to go see her G.P or one of them sexual health clinics. Its a bit unusual(never heard of this one) but it can be nothing if she is on birth control(don't have to have sex to be on those) or her periods might be irregular because of her lifestyle. Just tell her to go check herself out because we can never know might be something even serious.

Generally speaking, you could divide your menstrual cycle to 3 phase: menstrual period, ovulatory period and safe period.

Safe period is the days except menstrual period and ovulatory period.

hi, my cousin is in her early 30's

she used to see her menstrual period (bleed) 4-5 days every month (1st day of period starts every 28 days)

but since 2009 her period only last for 1 day. though she said she has not had sexxx in over 3 years, she is wondering what could be d problem?

would this affect her from having kids when she is ready? what can she do to rectify it?

will she still b able to ovulate and will her ovulation period change?

her ovulation period used to be 9 days from d 1st day of her period to the 14th/15th day (i.e 9th - 15th day counting from d 1st day of her period)

she knows her ovulation cos her mom taught her n also because she has a child already and a miscarriage

thx in advance

Do You know that what you eat also affect your ovulation.

according to www.planweightlossdietprograms.info,

most irregularities in sexual  timing may be curtailed if

the right foods and diet were regularly taken or prior

to having sex

you need to chart your hormones, cervical mucus and temperature to have an idea of when you ovulate. most women ovulate around the middle of hier cycle but not all, it is possible to get pregnant by having relations while on your period or any other day of your cycle. each person is diffent and so is thier ovulation cycle. ovulation can differ from month to month as well in the same woman. people who use thier "safe period" as a method of birth control are often called . . . . . . . parents! if you dont want to get pregnant please use a condom or other method of birthcontrol

Here is how its calculated

If you have a 30-day monthly circle,

Authomatically, you start ovulating on the 15th day after your period.

You start counting from the first day your period actually starts.

Now 2 get your ideal "safe period", you count 2 days before this 15th day (which is automatically the 13th day). That is your strongest time of the month to get pregnant.

Next, you look at the actual 15th day and 2 days after the 15th day, which is the 17th day.

These are the periods when u are most likely to conceive if you have unprotected sex.

safe period vs unsafe period? you have to be kidding me thee are people who still believe in this? if you have been trying for 1 year and havent gotten pregnant go to a dr and have you both tested. he might have poor swimmers you might have scaring or any number of other problems that affect both of you. if it hasnt been a year then dont worry and kep trying. stress can impede the process

For you as a woman to know your "Safe" and "Unsafe" period you must first off all know your ovulation time base on the length of your menstrual cycle. By simple mathematic, Minus 14 from the total number of days of your menstrual cycle.

UNSAFE PERIOD: It was observed through research that beside the very day your ovulation take place, ther are certain number of days about that time of the ovulation that can still produce prenancy if sexual intercourse take place. the day before ovulation day appear most likely to be unsafe than the days after ovulation.

YOUR UNSAFE DAYS:

Women could be pregnant from intercourse beginning from two days before her ovulation day in addition to the actual day of ovulation. As a preemptive protective measure two days ovulation are also considered "Unsafe"

Although some recent unclear reports give more number of days. In summary, a woman has a chance of becoming prenant approximately with 5 days of her monthly cycle. The days include 2 days before ovulation, 2days after ovulation and ovulation days.

Now you know your safe and unsafe period, but there is still one major challenge, which is discipline and commitiment of keeping your eye on the calender. The discipline aspect has to do with the willingness of the woman to abstain from Sex for one week each month according to the woman's menstrual calendar. In order to avoid confusion, it is advisable for her to circle or mark on a calender the days she is not to have sex without protecting herself.

If you follow this steps, you will get pregnant only when you want to.

1.from the first day you see the blood of your period.

2.pick up a calendar and count 15days including the first day of the blood stain.

3.Mark the 15th day with a pen

4.Mark 3 days before the 15th day

5.Mark 3 days after the 15th day

6.you will notice you have 7 days marked.these 7 days are your ovulation/fertile days also known as unsafe period.meaning if you have sex on any of these days then you have 98% chances of being pregnant.

7.Do these every month and try and abide by these rules

EVERYOTHER DAY IS YOUR SAFE PERIOD

Very easy. Count 10days, starts from the first day of your period, from the 11th day to the 15day you are not safe. So if you are trying for a baby those 5days are the best times to try.

Example: if your period starts on the 10 of September. From the 20th to the 24th you are not safe.
