"Soda — healthy food!" No one ever said it (well, for the last 20 years, that's for sure). So it is hardly surprising that drinking soda can have a negative impact on your body.

While most of us know that soda is bad for us, we don't know exactly what happens to our bodies when we drink it.

This is what happens after you drink a coke:

In the first 10 minutes: ten teaspoons of sugar (100% of recommended daily dose) ingested.

After 20 minutes: your blood under the influence of sugar causes a spike in insulin. Your liver responds to the turns of sugar and comes in contact with fat.

40 minutes: Your body absorbs the caffeine. Your blood pressure rises and your liver "dumps" more sugar in the blood. The adenosine receptors in your brain are blocked, preventing drowsiness.

45 minutes: Your body increases production of dopamine — the pleasure hormone.

60 minutes: soda in phosphoric acid binds with calcium, magnesium, and zinc in your lower intestine to give you an extra boost in metabolism. This is compounded by high doses of sugar and artificial sweeteners that cause frequent urination calcium.

After 60 minutes: the diuretic effect of caffeine causes the desire to pee. Together with frequent urination, leaches calcium, magnesium and zinc, as well as sodium, electrolyte and water.

Then begins the decline of sugar, and you may become irritable and sluggish.

I am agree that Coca-Cola is not a healthy and useful drink. Our kids should not drink it and we should not it overdrink. But is it a pure poison? I am one of those people, who like this drink very much. But i drink it twice, or three times a week. And still my teeth are healthy and my weight is 45 kilograms and does not grow. So, maybe it is not only reason for spoiling our health. I can not say, that Coca-Cola is a good and healthy drink for all the family, but i think that we may drink it from time to time, but not to overdrink.

Did you know a cup of coca cola contains 10 tea spoons of sugar?! It just blows your system and causes the level of sugar in your blood to skyrocket. Then insuline level rises and your liver starts turning all that sugar into fat to remove it off the blood. So, if your goal is to be unhealthy and fat, then drinking cola is the fastest way to attain it!
