Ebola

World Health Organization reports in January 2016 reveals that 11 315 people died from Ebola. It also includes 1 person from the USA. Liberia is a country which the biggest amount of citizens. During Ebola outbreak in 2014-15, there were 4 809 Liberians died from Ebola, more than 10 000 persons are infected. According to the WHO, the spread of disease started from a two-year-old Meliandou toddler in 2013. In the next couple month of his death, it was registered about 86 causes of virus and 59 people died. In 2014 the WHO registered the outbreak of Ebola.

Ebola spreading

Ebola

Ebola virus can be spread through direct contact with a victim. Unfortunately, the options for spreading are enormous and includes water, air, blood…  The victim of Ebola virus could get the disease via:

  • Body fluids or blood, through the person who was sick or died from Ebola.
  •  Through objects which contained body fluids of a person died or suffered from Ebola
  • Through direct contact with infected primates or fruit bats
  • Sexual intercourse with victim of Ebola virus

Ebola Virus Symptoms

Ebola

The virus on its first stages is similar to measles or standard flu. The main target of the virus is blood cells which it destroys inside and causes high bleeding of organs. The symptoms show up after 2 or 21 days of infection and include:

  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Lack of appetite
  • Weakness
  • Muscle aches
  • High Fever

Those are the first symptoms but as it was mentioned, they are similar to the standard flu. The real problem starts when all of these symptoms are escorted by high tense bleeding. It means vomiting and coughing with blood, intense bloody diarrhea, bleeding of ears, eyes, nose.

Ebola treatment and diagnosis

Ebola

Due to similar symptoms with the standard flue in the first stages and parallel with cholera and malaria on the last studies, it`s very hard to diagnosis Ebola. The only of diagnosing Ebola is finding virus cells in blood via blood tests and tissue tests. Upon diagnosing Ebola of a patient, he/she is to be contained in the quarantine zone. The Ebola vaccine has not been created yet, so the only way for doctors is to fight with symptoms via:

  • Electrolytes
  • Oxygen
  • Blood transfusion
  • Blood medication

It`s highly unrecompensed to visit areas where Ebola virus is registered. Due to high lethality, spreading factor and no vaccine from the disease. The travelling to that areas will be a lethal adventure.
