A pound of fat equauls to 3500 calories. To loose one pound in a week you will need to expend 3500 more calories than you eat that week, whether through increased activity or decreased eating or both. Loosing 1-2 pounds of fat in a week is a sensible goal, and so you will want to use combination increased activity eating less that will total 3500 calories for 7 days.

There are many small changing you can make to your daily routine that will burn calories for example:

.Take the stair instead of the lift

.Keep walking whilst the escalator caries you up

.Walk or cycle instead of driving short distances

.Do some exercise on your lunch hour - swimming, dancing

I have been reduced to a calorie counting freak and if I mistakenly eat anything that contains sugar or carbs, I do not eat again that day then I will work out like mad. I exercise every other day and am almost a vegetarian. I am the better for it anyway but I wish I can just take it easy on myself cos I am becoming a menace as my friends do not like to go out with me to restaurants cos I will be busy checking out vegetarian alternatives and most restaurants in Nigeria do not offer that. Even the salads come with highfat and high caloric dressings.

I know someone who lost so much weight after she gave birth because she had to take care of the baby by herself, fetch water, cook food and do everything. but when she hired househelp, she gained all the weight back.

I'm skinny. Really skinny. Im skinnier now than before I had my baby. I do not exercise, I do not stress, I do not do anything.

Im not really complaining. I like the way I look. I cannot change it.

Being slim runs in my family.

I'm kinda tall, 5ft'10.5 and a little weight wouldn't dis-figure me.

As hard as i try that extra weight wouldn't come. I'm content though.

I hit the gym in order to keep fit. I mean everyone should. Not only for weight loss but just to be healthy.

Around march or so was the last time I checked my weight so i don't think i'm obsessed.

I do worry sometimes though about my lean muscles turning to fatty tissues. because i think that contributes to whether you look fat or not. Chiogo for example has plenty lean muscles (judging from her profile pic) and would look skinner than someone who weight the same as her but had more fatty tissues.

and metabolism is just a measure of level of energy for physical activity really. you will notice that people who are fat tend to be those who hate taking the stairs, walking long distances and are just "lazy" about physical activity in general etc while skinny people (and children) are usually very physically active and jumpy.

there are many diets you can do to lose a lot of weight drastically but you will most likely gain the weight back and maybe even some. If you are trying to lose weight for your birthday and then get back on the healthy living stuff then google quick weight loss and you might be able to lose 10 lbs in two weeks

no matter how much I eat, I do not put on weight, I do not even know where the gym in my school is, lol

I love food, and I eat like a king. My key to staying fit is to work out as hard as I eat. For every excess plate of iyan & egusi I chop, I will swim 20 laps at the pool, or I must play soccer, b-ball, or go running for 30 mins. I enjoy working out as much as I do eating, so I just  don't gain weight. I am 6 ft and have weighed 140 (+/- 5) lbs for the last 4 years. And I know the older I get, the less I can eat as my metabolism slows down dramatically, but at the point I won't care so much about appearance, but right now I am looking for wife.

I'm sooo lucky.

I'm one of those people who won't be fat, even after 3 kids.

I eat whatever and whenever.

I love my burgers, coke, candies, ice cream and cakes.

However, i try to monitor my sugar and fat intake,

Strictly for health reasons and not cos i'm worried about my weight.
