Synthetic hormone therapy, unfortunately, causes many side effects, complicates the work of the liver and kidneys, masks the symptoms and causes addiction. If you agree that it is better to use the power of nature to balance hormones instead of hormone therapy, then keep on reading.
Today we want to share with you the information on how to normalize the hormones using essential oils. Knowing the therapeutic properties of the oils, you can easily balance the production of hormones such as cortisol, progesterone, estrogen, and also improve the thyroid gland and stimulate the production of testosterone.
The more scientists study the properties of essential oils, the more they admire the simplicity and effectiveness of their action on our body. Just think about the fact that one drop of essential oil contains 40 million trillion (a number with 19 zeros) molecules. Therefore, there are approximately 40 thousands of oil molecules for each of the 100 trillion cells of the human body! The molecules of essential oils are minuscule; they can freely penetrate through the skin and lungs in the human body and easily get to any point of the body, which may not be available for medications. Also, they tend to clean the surface of receptor cells, improving communication between cells and, consequently, the functional state of the tissues and organs. Essential oils are capable of correcting the errors of the division of the DNA cells and improving the quality of new cells.
You can use essential oils in different ways: inhale, apply on the skin, consume inside, or add to the bath. They have almost no contraindications, except individual intolerance.
Therefore, to balance the functioning of the hormones you can apply the following essential oils: Clary sage, thyme, sandalwood, rose, lavender, frankincense and evening primrose.

Clary Sage oil
Research conducted by American scientists show that the inhalation of Clary sage oil reduces the cortisol (stress hormone) levels by 30%. Regular use of Clary sage among women of 40 - 55 years old confirms its persistent antidepressive effect. This oil helps to balance estrogen levels, which have the utmost importance for hormonal balance. So many problems with hormones happen due to the estrogen dominance. These problems include infertility, premenstrual syndrome, polycystic ovary syndrome, estrogen-dependent breast cancer. Also, Clary sage oil improves the functioning of the thyroid gland.
The studies have confirmed the beneficial effects of thyme oils on the hormone progesterone. This oil stimulates the production of progesterone for both women and men. As you know, low progesterone is a cause of infertility, depression, premenstrual syndrome, polycystic ovary syndrome, and many other hormonal disorders.
Sandalwood oil effectively balances the levels of testosterone both for men and for women. This oil is a natural aphrodisiac that stimulates sexual desire. That’s why perfumers have been using sandalwood oil for a long time for the manufacture of men's fragrances. In the female body, the reduced level of testosterone causes many hormonal problems: menstrual disorders, fatigue, infertility, insomnia, and osteoporosis. Sandalwood oil is an excellent natural remedy not only for stimulating libido but also for maintaining a healthy mood and cheerfulness.
Rose Essential Oil
Rose oil is also a natural aphrodisiac. Studies show that rose oil stimulates the synthesis of serotonin and other brain neurotransmitters that improve mood. Knowing these qualities of rose oil, the perfumers widely use it in the preparation of various perfumes.
Lemon oil has the strongest medicinal properties. This oil kills the meningococcal bacteria in only 15 minutes, typhoid bacilli within 1 hour, and pneumococcal bacteria within 3 hours. This oil also has antidepressant effects, improves blood circulation, helps in atherosclerosis, hypertension, obesity, parasites, urinary tract infections, varicose veins, digestive problems, and acne. Studies show that lemon oil promotes clarity of thinking.
Lavender oil has a calming effect by lowering cortisol levels. This, in turn, allows the other hormones to do their job effectively. Lavender is full of antioxidants and helps to fight oxidative stress, lowers blood pressure and stabilizes sugar levels in the blood.
The application of 1-2 drops of this oil to the skin reduces wrinkles, increases the skin elasticity and slows down the aging process. Also, the frankincense oil is one of the best remedies to normalize thyroid function and stabilize mood. It reduces cortisol levels and reduces the activity of autoimmune processes in the body. Frankincense oil has a powerful therapeutic effect. The frankincense oil was presented to Jesus at birth, as mentioned in the Bible. Since ancient times, frankincense oil was valued more than gold due to its ability to cure any disease. According to research published in the American Journal of Oncology, frankincense oil has higher abilities to kill cancer cells and reduce the pathological growths than chemotherapy. It effectively copes with any inflammation and stimulates the immune system.
Evening Primrose Oil
Evening primrose oil is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acid Omega-6, which is necessary for the synthesis of prostaglandin E. Prostaglandins are not hormones, but a sort of agents that transmit information between the cells of the body, which help to regulate hormones and cell growth. Without sufficient amount of prostaglandins, the body is more prone to developing blood clots in the blood vessels, high blood pressure, irritation of the digestive tract, inhibited immune function, uncontrolled cell growth, and overweight. One of the most common uses of Evening Primrose oil is a correction of premenstrual syndrome, which manifests as pain in the breasts, fluid retention in the body, sudden mood swings, headaches, and skin problems.
