The syndrome is painful and causes irritability, but is not life-threatening. Some doctors compare that violation with a simple cold.

More often women suffer from spastic colitis than men.

Although experts are unable to determine the real causes of spastic colitis, the disease can be attributed to muscle spasms of the abdomen or the bowel. There is no official version of what causes the situation. Often reasons are stress and depression, but these emotional states only serve to worsen the situation, but not cause it.

IBS Symptoms

Symptoms are described as abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, indigestion, and gasses. Although visiting the washing room can ease the pain, you may be left with a feeling that the bowel is not empty. Diarrhea often gives way to constipation.

Although no treatment can fully eliminate the syndrome of increased irritability of the colon, a simple diet and changes in lifestyle and in eating habits can bring away some of the symptoms.
