Ankara is one of the trendiest fabrics in Nigeria. No wonder it is because it has a great variety of color and pattern styles. If you want to stay stylish, learn how to make Ankara accessories in a DIY fashion. Moreover, that in today’s industrial world handmade jewelry is highly appreciated and is expensive.

You could make them by covering the buttons or stones with the fabric, just like with the neck piece. They could be the part of your Ankara set. But since you already know how to do that, we will look at a different way.

Materials:

  1. Ankara fabric
  2. Scissors
  3. Hot glue gun
  4. Earlets

How to make Ankara earrings:

As you all know, I want to keep this blog interesting and add a new type of posts every 2 to 3 months. I have been reading for a while now some of the most fabulous DIY sites and decided to try one of the easiest of all: button earrings. There are quite a few different ways to do this, so you if you find this complicated feel free to check Google.If I can do this, you all can. This is a way to customize your earrings and save money by doing so.All of the items are available at your local fabric store. 1. Cut out a piece of fabric that is a little bit bigger than your cover button. The Dritz packaging includes a circle size guide, but I eyeballed my fabric and cut it into a square.

2. Place the fabric into the cover button mold.

3. Place the cover button front on top of the fabric in the mold.

4. Tuck in any excess fabric.

5. Place the cover button back on top. (The back’s raised edges should be facing upwards.)

6. Take the lid button pusher and press it into the back. You should hear a “pop.”

7. Remove the assembled button from the mold.

8. If the button has a wire back, use your pliers/scissors to remove the cable. (A squeeze and wiggle should work.)

9. Decide where you would like to place your earring posts. (Posts at the top will allow the earrings to hang.)

10. Apply a small amount of glue to the back of the button and attach the earring post.

11. Let the jewelry dry and set for a few hours. All done!
