Inter Tribe Marriage: What Is Your Experience?

I observe the level of tension between couples of different tribes and wonder if there is hope of fully integrating this country through marriage.

In most cases, most Igbo ladies do trive well in inter-tribal marriages than other tribes and their male counterparts seems to find it stressful to handle their non tribal spouse. what could be the problem?

u just hit on one of the type of tension/ issues between married folks of diffrent tribes.

@Naija_Sisi

I do think like u, but why r there tensions? there is this case that the wife had an issue with her husband younger bros n called him "foolish family". the boy explained to her how she is a partaker of the foolishness that run in his family-imagine.

Then this modern liberation stunt of ladies r making it worse. they r very contentious & lack tact in handling diffct issues.

The worst thng that can happen to a Nigeria man is inter tribe marriage,for example you and you wife live in lagos,you from edo state and she from imo state, by the you are old and ready to go to your home state dont be surprised your wife already has 3 bungalows in her home state.

I believe in Nigeria but Nigeria just needs to believe in itself.

the headache is much.

however ,GRACE DIFFERS!

ppl just need to get their heads out of the old way and tradition of doing things (i.e. marrying another person from the same tribe) and move on with the current times.

the longer Nigeria continues to hold on to old way of doing things, the longer that country will take to develop itself and grow.

how can we try and live as one country, when we still find it difficult to marry ourselves because of the tribe we are from?

I believe in Nigeria but Nigeria just needs to believe in itself.
