Should Married Women Go Clubbing?

Quote

One question asked which I think would interest a hand full of people is, should married women go clubbing? Though the question refers particularly to women, I think the same can be asked on married men. Is there a straight answer like Yes they can or No they shouldn’t?

Marriage is a step into a new level of living, a different dimension a union that can either spell doom or bliss depending on the level of knowledge, wisdom and support possessed. One true fact is that you cannot continue to live as a single person after marriage. That would be recipe for argument, discord and perhaps divorce. Marriage demands new sets of rule, behaviours and attitudes in every aspect of your new life together. For every action and decision taken, your spouse needs to be considered.

Back to the question about clubbing. First, what is the reason behind your desire to go clubbing? What are your intentions? Are they noble? Is your spouse comfortable with you going out clubbing? If your spouse went with you, would he/she be comfortable with your behaviour? I guess if these questions are genuinely thought true with a true heart, the answer would be quite obvious.

The thought process should apply to other decisions you may have doubts about. In marriage it’s detrimental to take unilateral decisions without taking your spouse into consideration. Sometimes compromises need to be made to achieve harmony in the marriage. Other times you just have to agree to disagree on certain issues when a stale mate is reached. Both parties should apply equal efforts to making the union work, it’s more of a symbiotic relationship rather than parasitic. Sometimes the dominating or more outspoken spouse may tend to impose his/her desires and wishes on the other, while in the short term he/she may succeed, in the long run the outcome may not be pleasing. The crux of he matter is that both parties should dialogue and reach a decision they are both happy and comfortable with.

I think it's all about trust. If you can't trust your spouse to go out to the club ocassionaly without you then why tge heck are you married to him/her? I honestly don't see anything wrong with either spouse wanting to spend some time with their friends. I'm not married, but I have no problem with my boyfriend going out with the "boys" once in a while and he has no problems with me going out with the girls. If he wants to go to the strip/gentleman's clup for a bachelor party I have no problems with it and when one of my friends has a bridal shower I will have fun watching the male entertainers but go home to my man!

Congratulations on marrying an attention LovePeddler. Some women never grow outta that slutty phase.

Remove the Kitty-Cat from your mouth and tell her point blank that you do not want her to go to that club, but she can do whatsoever she wants.

If she decides to go to the club, just ship all her property out, change your locks. Headache relieved.

Well,

All I can say that many Nigerian men marrying outside of their country and many of them found happiness with other people that aren't Nigerians,

Just like Dibolic and his wife, there are plenty of Nigerian women with foreigners and Nigerian men with foreigners, TRUE LOVE KNOWS NO BOUNDARIES and people need to stay out of married couple personal business and tend to their own,

Well, that sound like a good plan Sistawoman, YOU KNOW NEW YORK HAVE SOME OF THE BADDEST NEW YEAR EVE EVENTS! Maybe my husband and I will see you and your husband there? It got this boots I want to wear when it get cold and it sooo comforty!!

Oh someone told me the other day that why are some married women are BehindBased retentive and I said it usually the ones that are constipated and scared to take a good poo,

The police, the government, the law. . . . .

It is against the law to smoke in any public buildings, be that bar, club or resturant.

What nights, NYC is a short 3hr drive. Let the kids stay overnight at my parents house and I can party in the city, . . . . .like around the first of the year

Wow. I can't believe dat dis thread has been resurrected and the same opinions are still being bandied around.

I think it should be given a rest as no one is ready to give ground.

Everyone should hold on to their opinions if it would make them happy.

My opinion as a married woman still stands, a married man/woman should not be found ina a club alone. If it is really scratching u, go together and av fun n den come back n screw urselves blind.

It all depends. Some women do not go to clubs but still cheat on their husbands right under his nose. Some go to clubs and are committed to their husbands.

It is all personal, but we cannot say either side is right or wrong. For me what matters is how a woman behaves when she goes clubbing, does she respect herself and act accordingly (i.e a married woman having some fun with her female friends). She can hang out with her friends (girls night out) and go clubbing, as long as she has fun and is respecting the fact she is a married woman then this is ok. Off course guys will come up to her, but if she draws the line, then the guys know she is unavailable.

Married men go clubbing and some men behave in an undignified manner in clubs. Or are we saying clubs are forbidden to married men and women? If not, why is it one rule for the men and another for women?

You should go clubbing with your friends, go clubbing with your wife, she can go with her friends without you etc. This is the modern marriage. Like I said, it is personal, but either opinion or viewpoint isn't wrong.

I BE DAMN,

THIS MOFO SAID I AINT BEING SINCERE!! WTF!!

Anyway, sistawoman, it goes to show you who OLD AND who is young, AS I SAID MANY TIMES THERE ARE MANY TYPE OF CLUBS AND NOT ALL CLUBS ARE ALIKE, I dont go to clubs that THEY DESCRIBED and they are adamant that people who go to clubs cheats!! That just like me saying a man with a itch in his nuts gon molest someone, that silly!

Wow I leave y'all alone for a little while and all these wild things are flying around.

Jenny,

When was the last time you went to a club (not a hole in the wall); they stopped smoking in clubs about 10 years ago and in bar/clubs 3 years ago?

Clubs now adays are more like lounges than clubs; you have your main dance floor or up to 4 levels of dance floors; then you have lounge areas in the clubs with couches and booths to sit and enjoy the scene until you feel like dancing.

There are dress codes; so when men have to wear dress pants and dress shoes they tend to act differently.

Additionally it is not possible to be jobless and at a club. At least not any real club. $20.00 admission and $10-$15 per drink. . . not for the jobless at all.

Not everything is going to be for everyone, so there are some that will never go to a club to dance, and there are others that have no problem with it. It depends on each person and should be decided in each marriage what is appreciate.

I don't buy the argument that clubbing will lead you to cheat on your spouse. My spouse and I both have very public jobs where we face the public everyday all day. . . I am hit on more at work then in the club, if a spouse is going to cheat they will cheat, be that in a club, at work or walking down the street. Tell me how many Nigerian men even take their children with them to the mistress house while they are pretending to the wife to be spending time with their children.

I can chew gum and walk at the same time. Which simply means I can be a great mother and wife and still not loose sistawoman in the process. Because I said I do I did not throw sistawoman away. It isa a careful blend of my family needs and my own.

It sad how OLD PEOPLE can be so judgemental for something they WOULDN'T DO so they project their views on other people see that what us young folks call OLD PEOPLE WHO ARE CAUGHT IN THE CAVE AGE.

It unfortunate that people will never move forward as once when you have the likes of cave age mindsets and people wonder why we are not progressing in an advance state but hey, calling me names still not going to keep married women out the clubs,

Until you realize that TOSHIN, you will still be in obivilion.

Ignorance sure is a bliss, UNFORTUNATELY,

Adage,

If I saw my brother's wife at the club alone and she is not doing anything wrong, I would simple acknowledge her presence and wish her well. If she is doing something she has no business doing for example humpin on a man or showing her wiles standing on a table I will simply address her but if she is conducting herself like a lady. I would not have a problem with her at the club and by the way the matured clubs in our area does not allow that sort of behavior anyhow, THE MOMENT YOU ACT A FOOL, YOU OUT ON THE STREETS, I keep telling you people that ALL CLUBS ARE NOT THE SAME

Jennykadry,

Thats fabulous!!! mmm! ur level of maturity as a wife is really beyond imagination that can't be compared with some housewives that reason like teens, no sense of humour, lack of intelligence only for them to come down here nd speak as low as their IQ is for their family to see this and be very disappointed in them smh!

Double thumbs up, jennykadry.

Well this isn't my first time of knowing inked_nerd and queeneve so i don't expect reasonable answers from those 2 members, if u can see i was trying to avoid her until she intrude cos most of her statements are always off-points but the one with the good sense like Sistawoman hv understand what we're trying to voice out as matured minds and your last example is simply enough for the wise.

Take care, jenny and all.

Women get molest anywhere and let not put it on clubs. molest is wrong NO MATTER WHERE IT DONE AT, you people putting too much into something that is harmless, REGARDLESS IF A WOMAN HAS A CAREER OR NOT, if her husband does not have an issue with it, WHY DO YOU?

0
Avatar

Jenny,

Apparently you misconstrued my posts, I have not said that you offend me nor insult me, I was speaking generally that if we choose to go skank clubs that what we will experience and I simply stated that not all clubs are like that.

Anyway, we all have our own opinions and there is no need to keep going in circles about it cos at the end of the day we will do what we want to do anyways.

You have a good night too.

Toshin,

You can call me whatever bish, but guess what I will still go to the matured clubs, now what you gon do now?

Jenny,

I dont know what part of USA you are but there are nice clubs that does not allow that type of scene, I have been to PLENTY OF CLUBS AND VARIETY OF CLUBS, each club are not the same and if you chooses to go to a skank club that your choice,

I dont go to those type of club and the clubs I go to are for matured adult with matured taste, THEY HAVE DRESS CODE THAT ARE STRICT and MANY MARRIED COUPLES GO TO THESE CLUBS THAT I AM TALKIN ABOUT THEY ARE NOT LIKE THE ONES YOU DESCRIBED,

it a matter of knowing what clubs are good and what clubs are bad, I have been to a club few time without my husband with my girls and NO ONE IN MY CIRCLE COMMITTED ANY ADULTERY and in fact REAL MEN do not disrespect women under any circumstance,

The nigerian men that allow their wives do the clubs in the westernized world , allow this because they have no choice.

We all know the women over here have got more grounds than them men. A man cannot tie his wife down when she tells him she wants to do the club, he cannot scream, yell, shout at her for fear of bringing in the police.  He has no say in the matter as people see clubbing as a normal thing over here as opposed to nigeria. I really don't care if they have got nigerian clubs over here or not the truth still remains it is a gate way to adultery, easy.

I have been to the club with my man here and I tell you that , that has been my last and I also insisted that it was his last. He wasn't even interested I was the one that forced him to go. The smell of tobacco almost made me choke to death. The sight was an eye sore.

These nigerian men allow it because they have no choice. You cannot afford to divorce her for fear of losing almost everyting including your kids, they are stucked

Mobo444,

man, never expect queeneve to give you coherent answers cos her type speaks before reasoning.

QueenEve,

Well as matter of fact, no one stops u not to do ladies thing with your friends but whats wrong with yall going to mall 4 shopping, beach, cinemas etc places where u can back for your family in the evening to spend the rest of the night with them.

why must it be clubbing as a married woman? Ask urself do u think u are different from a ho, even a LovePeddler is far beta than u by u leaving ur man and kids at home 4 some ridiculous fantasy else where in d middle of d night, if you're not ready for marriage commitment is not by force so some of u need to stop reasoning like teen cos things like is "medicine after death"

Such a woman is not fit to be called WIFE.  But if you must go to night clubs, then your husband must be present.

If clubbing is still very much an important part of your life then stay single!

Intentionally exposing yourself to the temptations of adultery is a tall sign of irresponsibility, which will only lead to problems.
