love is like a flame , you have to rekindle it to keep it burning

the catch is to realize that no matter how tired you are, how hard your day was or at what time you need to get up in the morning you need to step up your game and do what is needed in your relationship.

after marriage, people would say:" love is second to children/work"and that is wrong. love is as important, you just dont have to show it as much as before.

small things like dressing up, communicating together and knowing what to improve to keep the fire burning, hiring a nanny once/twice a week to be able to go out. if you aint got money for nanny then babysit people's kids when they go on dates and let them babysit yours when you go on dates.

also the physical changes after marriage is a great problem. if you were 60kg when we met and after 3kids you are now120kg then we understand BUT you have to work on your body to try to get back into some understandable shape. sit up in the morning, go to the gym, run a few miles etc, it all needs to be done. if you expect your spouse to be turned on by someone who look completely different physically than before then you are dreaming(this goes for men and women). its a tough world and there is a competition out there about who looks sexier. if you dont want to take part in it then you have already lost your loved one.

@Mrbrownjay,

I agree with you totally.

@Poster,

Responsibilities sometimes take away part of the love that used to be in a relationship. A husband that works very hard to cater for his family may not have time to do the things he did for his spouse when they first got married. Same for the woman.

Growing kids can also be a part of reasons why love in marriage dwindles.

The love a woman has for her husband divides the moment she bears a child. Some even tend to love their kids more than the husband. This is the reason why some couples in western world remain childless. They rather stay without kids than alter or change the way they feel about each other. They have other reasons though.

@poster

the love is gone because priorities in their relationship has change.

when they first met, the guy/girl wanted to make themselves look "perfect", doing stuff that they might not want to do everyday BUT that they thought was going to get them the prize.

after wedding, people are lazy like that and think that they dont need to wine, dine make fun things together because they already have "the prize" WRONG!!!!

one of the problem is also that people dont say anything about it until its much too late. the week that you dont go out to dinner then voice it, the minute he isnt caring in the bedroom as he use to then voice it, the minute there aint no fun in that union then voice it and find a solution etc.

waiting 10yrs down the line before saying anything is pointless.

also remember that like anything else in life, after time we get bored.

- out of the best toys we got.

- the best food we ate.

- the best music we heard.

- the best totos we fukced.

its human nature! the catch is to find a way to"spice" things up in your married life to make things feel like new. in and out of the bedroom!
