Rumour has it that 2face Idibia, is on his way out of kennis music, the very kennis that made him. I hear he is about signing a contract with a foreign based music company.

Nor of my own fuckin demn bizness, Tufaze meant to be a fool 4eva under the record company of so called kennis or whateva, But i have to advice Tufaze 2 get his Bottom down and think abt his life,by settin his own record company or leave Kennis, Ruggedman-Rugged Record,Psquare to Square Record,Eedris - Lacream Record and so on, and even Faze`gat his own record, TUFAZE if you are fortunate to come across internet and get this lovely site where black people exchange ideals and rob minds together, You gat to think abt what i jst say, Am not your enemy neither your friend, am a man struggling wit life, hahahahah,

I think it will be a better boost for him, if he really got a new record contract in the state, because of the boost and the world recognition that he will gain in the process. Nigerian production is growing it it still crap, in terms of production, distribution and as well makng of video is the worst part. Am sure if Tu face got a recordin label is the state am so sure, he wil be an ICON in the music industry in d whole wide world, because you that u r performin well in a rugged world, am sure u will perform much more better in a world of green pasture. 1 Love to Tu face

2Face should go anywhere he wishes to go. Afterall, his career is only for as long as he keeps re-inventing himself in the music world. I only he knows that there in the international scene you can rise fast and go down fast too.Best of international recognition to him, but he should improve on his lyrics.

so is it true that Tuface is now signed to an international label?.if it is true good for him but b4 he goes an English teacher should be employed for him specially.all i ever hear that boy say is ''nothing dey happen''.i hope that is not what he will be giving them in ''obodo oyinbo'' cos one time they will drop him.

and as for Kennismusic they are a disgrace.their website is utterly USELESS.

Unfortunately production in Nigeria is not yet up to Internationally acceptable standards, neither is marketing and distribution.

If people like 2-Face obtain International acclaim and success (deserved!) people will start paying attention, and in time Nigeria's standards in all aspects of music (production, recording etc.) will improve.

I had to go to California to get my material recorded properly.

Akon is as popular in the US the same way Tuface is popular in Nigeria. Akon is a popular musician in UK as well

What i mean by popular am talking about the league of Master P, P Diddy, Jamaine Dupri, Darkchild,Chad Hugo, Tanye West etc.

Akon himself is signed to SRC.

If i may ask which genre do we classify 2Face, P-Square, and all those new-gen Nigerian artiste.

I don't really think someone need such amount of money to be able to make a star. Talent and luck is what make stars.

The only Nigerian that has been able to break (with some success) to the US scene is Majek Fashek (here is an interview by him), he was able to do that because of the universality of reggae music. Will the same be possible for 2Face?

And if it's true that he signed under Akon's label i don't really think that's a big deal. I don't really know how big Akon is in the US himself.

Piracy scares peeps out of the "label" biz. U need at least N12M to build up a talent to International standard. How do u break-even easily. International Distribution deals (BMG etc) is difficult to secure for the Nigeria artist.

There are all kinds of deals in the music industry just as there are i think in other industries the world over. 2face got signed to Akon's label i think..but the deal might just be distribution and the territory might just be the USA. But in Nigeria, he will still release and distribute locally via Kennis.

To the guy who was asking for Kennis website....I still cannot get over it. those guys with all their mouth cant put together a website. it beats me. The same reason their artistes too dont have websites.

This is the 21st century. Kids have websites in other countries.

Anyone interested in setting up a label in Nigeria? You cant go wrong. there's too much talent out there for you to market.

That's True!! Or am I wrong? Is it true that Kennis Music doesnt have a website? Even google is confused, instead it brought www.kennismusic.tripod.com as a substitute, I looked through that website, and I thank God I didnt vomit. Who made that thing for them and called it a website, Kenny himself? What then are they boasting of when we can't view their website?

well...its about time he changes record labels. but he should look before leaps...lest he signs himself in2 slavery!

well i think its cool, kennis will surely get some thing from the deal nothing goes for nothing.they've really helped him, build him though he is a talent

Well as long as they don't try to commercialize him or Americanize him too much, it is a great idea!! Then he'll make some money. It is a shame he's not a millionaire (in dollars) with all that records he sold. He has a certain charm/sound to him that's just very appealing and likeable. If he is signed overseas, hope they keep his style. This might force other 9ja artists to upgrade their lyrics/quality (eventhough we can't help video quality b/c of lack of payment to the artist). It can also make other 9ja artists stand up against the record execs so they can get paid!!! It's a shame... the money is in producing the actor/singer...they just get used.

I don't think tuface has left kennis music. What i read was that tuface's face2face album is being relaunched in South Africa and kennis music is partnering with another big music label in South Africa(i forgot the name now).So tuface is still with kennis.

I read something new this afternoon in encomium though,i read that his "African queen" video is going to remade by the American branch of that South African music label(its a big name,i don't know why i cant remember it)and that he has a US tour coming up this year. This guy is definitely going places!

It's the same thing we are still saying, if all these football player move over to the United States they will never be popular because there are other sports that people are used to over there. Same for 2face, is only in Nigeria that people know and understand his songs. It's good that a producer stay close to his most priced market.

@seuntech, i wonder why so many of us in Nigeria are not down to heart. No wonder we are not progressing. Tuface is good, i will say it again, He is very very good. considering Nigerian etertainment infrastructures, he is very good.Consider Akon in the united states, if akon were to be in Senegal do u think he would have produced good videos like he is doing?, i tell u what, the environment he lives insupports his work. I have being to a studio in nigeria before and i av also been to a studio in the UK. i can see the difference. Tuface has made use of his talent to the best of his ability. seuntech, did u say tuface has cheated when he, blackface and face were looking for record deals, did u say he has cheated when he has had to sleep on thesame mat with his younger brother in a "face me and face u" house, have you said tuface has cheated when he opted out of school and he is considered a drop out. I wonder why u say he has cheated now that he is worth 22million Naira.

U remind me of the old Shina peters song, he said " when you have money, people hate you".

NB: Tell me, what football does beckham plays?,i consider lampard and gerrard better players, yet he is very respected on the football scene in England. you know how much he rakes in (after tax) last year?, enough to pay the salary of nearly 70 percent lagosians for two months.

Dont hate, leave tuface alone

You have to open up if you're truely sure you know what you claim to know.

This is 2Face's time. Though the guy is good, he is not the best in Nigeria even at the moment. Please, I have nothing against 2Face o, I'm one of his die hard fans, I love him to the bone but, contrary to his numerous fans, my best track from him is 'Right here'.

The truth of the matter is that, who God has blessed, no man can curse- that is the secret behing his success.

Am not sure if you guys will share my view on this issue, but i don't think leaving Kennis Music or Nigeria for that matter will really bring out the best in him. Here in Nigeria we know him, we hear what he is saying and also appreciate him but for him to go to jand or yankee i wonder the level of awareness people overthere will have for him.

It's like if  David Beckham will ever have the same recognition with Kobe Bryant in the State.

you know what, bettyboop you are right. It is nice that we have different artist springing up however the quality of their production is lacking bad. I know some of my Americans friends who want me to buy them the 2 face idibia cd ( African Queen) americans here are begining to appreciate our african hiphop style; for us to get full acceptance we need quality right now. And you know Naija forever represent if you need backup and support!

Tu- face leaving Kennis Music is a good idea as far as I am concerned. Kennis Music Idea is just an old idea, they are still applying an old way of doing things, even thier videos are just craps. If he can get a nice record label that has all the new and good idea of doing things, i bet you, he will be more popular than this.

For the fact that they are the one that built him doesnt mean he should die there. Afterall, Tu-face is a stuff that everybody loves even before he got deal with kennis music.
