Are The Kuti's The Greatest Nigerian Family?

I know many will disagree but there is a solid argument that can be made for the claim.

Funmilayo Ransome Kuti- First woman to drive in Nigeria

Ran the Alake out of town, challenged colonial authorities, died a martyr.

Beko Ransome kuti

Right in the midst of the anti Abacha movements. Generally an accomplished human rights activist

Olikoye

Accomplished Health minister. Introduced primary health care reforms

Fela Anikulapo

I won't even bother

No one has surprisingly mentioned the Yaradua's

You lack sense abi na sense dey lack you?? I know your ilks. Once you are given 30 mins airtime in a cybercafe, you start behaving like an unteachable mind. My uncles and aunts didnt have to literarily sleep in contract offices like your people.

If you are daft enough to know that Fela sang about instituional corruption, then i guess you should be silly enough to know he smoked marijuana brazenly which was an affront to the laws. so doesn't that makes him notorious?

If you are not a Human Mutt, then you should know the word "rebellious" used in this context doesn't mean he was the "bad guy". Ofcos, Fela's "rebellious" acts were a threat to the military establishment. If you were not smoking hemp during your history class, then you should also have read about Funmilayo's notoriety with the Alaake of Egbaland or so.Ofcos that doesn't stop her from being an hero, afterall she fought for Independence

Dont you know "Notoriety" and "Rebellious" were used as a figure of speech in this context? Its not your fault, obviously someone wrote your JAMB and WAEC for you!. You are a product and a testament of our failing educational standard in Nigeria!

Can someone please tell this slow fellow about the exploits of the Dafinone family in the International arena?

After a deep reflection about your post, i concluded that you are either a dumbo or you must be galactically silly!!!

does ur mum drive? if ye, she should be thankful that Mrs Ransome Kuti (RIP) was rebellious enough to have done wat was considered a manly thing. Notoriety, i dont understand. Is it because Fela sings about wat ur uncles and aunties do with the people's money, or is it because Beko fights for Human rights? Martin Luther King is one of the gr8test pple that ever came out of USA and he was not as "rebellious" as Fela.

Amongst the great Nigerian families (no single family deserves that ''award'') in no particular order are:

Kuti

Dafinone

Ikoku

Osigwe

My own family (name withheld )

Please FELA signify strength, persistence and hope for lots of peole> I was furtunate to see him on several occasion on GBE GBE GBE night at the shrine, you have to listen to the man to understand how deep and a powerful thinker the man is.
