Pls Who's Government Is Better, On A General Note. Obasanjo Or Yardua?

Yes happy Nigerians, please this is my own feeling. I think Obasanjo's government is better because is it the EFCC that you want to compare, during OBJ's time, we complained that he was using it against enemies, but one question is where the so called enemies corrupt or not but now it seems Yardua doze not have enemies infact Ibori, Kalu, Odili are all his friends. Then ICPC could bark not bite but now they can not even whisper. EFCC ca not even talk. All the probes that they are doing, please what is coming out of it? Now we produce half of the megawatt we produced in the last administration, his government is all full of Northerners. Please nobody should say he is just starting because he has spent a year and we can not compare Nigeria when OBJ took over and now, at least we did not have a judiciary then, but we now have an Anodoaka It is only God that will save us. rule of law that is helping the BIG THIEVES.

Even your hero has given up, and it wouldn't be a bad idea for you to follow the same path (following is an easy task for you, anyway)

Fact: Your hero continues to kick himself (blame himself) for being silly for many years, he has finally identified his mistakes and ready to move on.

still waiting to be told this admin's economic programme and direction

BigB1 time and time again you have shown how misguided you are, so am never going to be disappointed in you.

Those are the obstacles Micheal Aondoakaa and co are removing for Yaradua before he does his job as President

Why trying Saraki and Ibori for corruption charges is an Obstacle to President Yaradua, only BigB1 knows. I probably will understand when I begin to enjoy proceeds of Nigeria's loot.

There you go, you've finally decided to remove the mask.

There is one thing that is absolutely certain; you will always be Mckren and you will remain lost.

Question for you:

1. Who gave Bukola Saraki an OK to contest for the 2007 governorship election?

2. Who orchestrated the selection of President Yar'Adua as the winner of the 2007 presidential election?

3. Where was your hero when 16bn dollars power reform project disappeared?

4. Where was your hero when the aviation reform fund was divided among OBJ's boys?

5. Where was your hero when the Ajaokuta steel project fell apart?

6. Where was your hero when the 3rd term bribery allegation came out?

7. where was your hero when the presidential jet was flying around the world with stolen government funds?

My man, you need to go and hide your face just like your hero. Don't you come here talking rubbish.

I have been reluctant to contribute to this thread, but let ask Epoma. Why do we need a government.I am sure is to provide solutions to the problems of the citizens. If there is a problem caused by OBJ is not and should not be an excuse for this present administration sleepy attitude.

Power sector-There is a huge investment in this area(although there is also corruption )and a lot of the import equipments are decaying at the seaport of Lagos. The sector is worst than the way OBJ left it.

Transportation-What has Yar Dua done with the Nigeria road network since he came into power?

Private Sector involvement-The purpose of selling off investment to public  investor is just to make profit but to help the government to manage the companies, create employment, create wealth and generate tax to the government.

EFCC-Mrs Waziri has started spelling out the script of the corrupt politicians, she has deploy and redeploy officers from EFCC to Police subdivisions and all principal investigators has been transfered. Now,where is the continuity in service for career service officers.

Politics has become a business for a sect of people, read about saraki and the Societe Generale bank.

Tell me one tangible thing Yar Adua has done to put smile on the faces of Nigerians.I am sure he is working on repositioning the nation in the hands of the northern oligarchy.

I guess, one has to beat Mckren on the head with a dry wood to wake up from this permanent comatose.

I am trying to understand how we Judge our governments and the facts that we use. I must say Yar'Dua Government is far better than OBJ. The problems that this present Government is facing now is as a result of Obj. In Electricity Obj spend a lot and nothing to show, built new gas turbine while selling all the gas to Italian and British Firms. Now nobody want to buy Nepa in this state.

There have been reduced Political Abuses like Ngige ,Ige and the killing of Harry Marshall that OBJ had hands in.Now all tribunal are fair to an extend in their decisions. For people who did not know Obj ruined Nigeria i various sector like selling refineries and ajaokuta for peanut, all that have been reversed. The giving away of Bakassi( Israel had over 46 UN resolution to give back land to the Palestinian since the 60's but has not but OBJ did in under 3 years). Most Governors now are doing far more a lot than Obj, in his time as long as you are for him like Odili, you can steal kill and get away with it, thank God for the truth committee sitting in river state.

I cannot say much but OBJ is damned for Life and he knows

this country is this way because the citizens (young and old) are silly and lack long term vision. i have never seen a society that is this blind. this is why politicians continue to suck us dry.

this is a silly topic. how can you compare a 13 months old administration to 8 years dictatorship?

honestly yaradua is too gentle, too honest and too sincere to rule this country. nigerians will never appreciate this kind of leadership.

nigeria needs an iron man who will steal like a crazy man and place the entire country on a cruise control for the next 8 years.

Yar'Adua is a loafer. His government is worse than that of Obasanjo and would even be worse even if he is given two additional terms.

Big B, what did Obasanjo for Yar Adua to block his way, NOTHING. Yar Adua is wrong for collecting back the companies back. We have to speak the truth. Those companies are BS. they never made profit for over 30 years. and would never ake profit as long as the govt control it. What do you expect external investor to think of Nigeria. People put their money into companies. Who on earth would buy useless, no profit making ,over 30 years old companies for the price of new. No one. So what really did obasanjo do that was wrong.

Like I said Yar Adua need to sack his minister and advices. They are old school.

Nigeria can not do without the international investment . The world have change the way govt and business are run and this govt need s to change. we need other people money to do business in Nigeria. The idea of powerful govt is wrong. 56% of revenue. what do they want to use the oney to do. marry new wife. ?

Here are  the solution to nigeria problem , if I had time.

1 get as much international investment as  possible.

2 leave business for businessmen.

3 break NEPA grid system . you can not have one grid system. sell nepa if you can. I have to go

Yar adua is going to london next week, make sure you hold business investment forum all over london. Host a carnival in the heart of London with nigeria. What I mean in Yoruba, e daba ru, Let any even 1 million millionaire meet the president in london.

Let the preisdent give them direct nuber to his press secretary. call everybody after. it is call follow up. L:et the president call of them with couple of millions from nigeria. If he would visit the. Do it. If they say na begging. we go beg. we go beg collect them money. every 500 fortunr companies president he should call

It is amusing how Mckren seems to be lost most of the time.

Big b1 has never called Yar'Adua's administration a success. For the record, let me re-post what I said:

1.

2.

3.

4.

Any sensible Nigerian who knows one or two things about Nigeria knows that these are simply the facts.

Now Mr. Mckren, you take your message back to your hero and let him know that as long as the sun shines, he will never ever ever come close to power in this life time ever again.

No sir. This is no six and half a dozen.

I'd rather 'seem to be confused' than be 'a thief and a disappointment'.

Someone wrote he couldn't remember what obj did in his first year.

Well I do.

OBJ changed the service chiefs, picked old folks for his first cabinet, made a mantra of anti-corruption, increased the pump price of fuel (?) and junketted around the globe.

I stand corrected.

Now I wouldn't say that was 'action packed' like some folks here would have us believe.

0
Avatar
Newbie

Obj was a thief and a disappointment while Yaradua just seems to be confused so far its like picking the difference between half a dozen and six

0
Avatar
Newbie

When OBJ took over, Nigerians for the first time were willing to work together as one and gave him their complete support; (eventhough, he threw it away) but that alone gave OBJ 70% of the points. Therefore, it makes no sense to compare then to now or compare OBJ to Yar'Adua.

And if we still can not see clearly by now that the obstacles that are currently blocking Yar'Adua from effectively and efficiently doing his duties as the president were created and left behind by Ribadu and OBJ, then I do not think we will ever see again.

We, Nigerians tend to quicky pass judgement without profoundly understanding what is on the ground.

@Mckren: Yar'Adua is useless because he simply put an end to a complete failure called Ribadu.

@MAMAJAMA: Yar'Adua is a total failure because Ehindero did not get that position with UN and his name is still on the list.

Regardless of the circumstance, Nigerians are built to whine and cry.

President Yar Adua does not need people like you, who tell him lies, that all is well, when really it is not. This is the problem with nigerian and nigeria, the raka de de approach, so that you can get favour from Yar Adua. " The truth is bitter, but better for the heart" Yar Adua need people who can tell him you are wrong and give him solution to the problem. People who believe in themself and are independent, people who can carry nigerian along. Men who have vision and can see the future. vision bearers. What has is govt achieve in the last one year, please list.

Why have the stock market gone down,?? why is NEPA nearly 900MW? why are teacher on strike? Do you want me to continue. This tell you some people are not doing thier job. Yes you can blame it on Yar Adua. but the truth is in put inplace people who should do thier job. but have not.

On investment Yar Adua need those people Obama hate . I do not want to call thier name over the internet. To help him get investment to Nigeria. let use the word Network, they do not come cheap, but he need them.

it is far too early to compare yar'adua with anybody, give d man time to do wat he plans to do just because he runs a govt in his own style of "no drama" unlike obj who was domineering and outspoken doesnt mean he has failed,

all d issues ppl tend to put at his door step have been dere even while obj, abacha where in power so it may take time to tackle dem,

lets be patient

Obasanjo if you like due process

Yar'Adua if you like Rule of Law

Obasanjo if you like "Induced Chaos"

Yar'Adua if you like "Chaos created by his dimwittedness "

I think Yar'Adua is slightyly ahead

Eventhough it's too early to praise or castigate Yar'Adua, but looking at all the mess Ribadu and OBJ created and left behind; I think Yar'Adua is doing a great job.

You can call the man (Yar'Adua) anything you want, but you can not call him a thief.

That alone for me represents a priceless honor and a step towards the right direction,

Therefore, it still inaccurate to conclude whether Abacha was better or not.

What sense does it make to praise a soccer team that scores 2 goals during the first half, then turns around and allows 12 goals against the team at the end of the match?

It makes no sense.

YarA'dua is still in the game, anything can happen. Lets allow this man to do his job.
