Here is an except from a newspaper interview of Jomo Gbomo. . . Judge for yourself.

That is so true my brother. MEND has also stated several times that they are moving toward much more sophisticated warfare and that they will march the govt in weapons sophistication.

We hear that, in some of the most recent attacks, some oil wells were indeed destroyed remotely. JTF captured a MEND drone at one time, although MEND denied, claiming it was just a toy aeroplane.

It will not be fun and games in the future if the govt continues its disgraceful behaviour.

We pray for peace.

beaf you forgot to add this

Skeptics say that even if commanders disarm, there is little to stop fighters from finding new leaders and resuming attacks. Some residents fear they will return to the creeks unless those who hand over their weapons can quickly find work.

i cry today with tompolo, but i also am happy because when the silly and senseless fgn start their stabings in the back. it will be clear to the world that the nd wanted peace but it was denied it, and let me make this clear to all of you who think it is over, that this is just the beginning.

Let us pray that the govt is sincere, because the next round of violence will surely engulf the nation. The whole of the Niger Delta is behind MEND.

We pray for peace.

E realy no easy for them at all,I attended a friend's traditional wedding in a village in Delta state,I was apalled at the lvl of underdevelopment I saw in that village, mud houses and stuf, these ppl realy need some serious intervention not the rubbish Yaradua and his cohorts are doing.Violence will have to continue until the FG is ready for some serious resolution.WTF is amnesty when the real issues are swept under the rug.

I just know that this so-called surrender is too good to be true and the FG is so so not serious to bring any meaningful change in the niger delta besides thier silly mantra.
