Niger area sheltered you. Don't you live in Lagos.

Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.

Thats good!

An indeginous pap manufacturer.

It may not be a lucrative business but at least you make something.

I hope though that you are registered.

How did you get into the business by the way?

This shows that no matter your level of basic education and literacy you can do something.

Cheers Agaba.

end of which story? are we talking about individual wealth now?

Well, our oil rich neighbour Guinea pays N117/litre. We live in the same world. Even in California, there are people that make $1billion a year, and there are people that make less than $5,000. You want the US government too to create different prices for the rich and poor?

Let's start preparing to be rich rather than planning how we will remain poor. END OF STORY!

Avatar

so u know this and u expect us to pay the same price for fuel as californian residents do?

We are poor. It's not about potential, it's about what we've got. We're poor but thank God we're waking up to our potential.

Presently, we are practically relying on the oil and gas sector as our only source of income, Just imagine a nigeria where the agricultural sector is working full-time, the Energy sector is working, Hence enhancing our local industries, Our mining industries are working, omo we go hold pass like this,

So I still say we are bloodily rich as a nation

Nigeria makes has a total GDP of

$200,000,000,000. Both politician stealing, prostitutes at Ynot, farmers and indian hemp sellers

The State of California in the United States of America makes

$1,550,000,000,000.

So my brothers and sisters, we poor. Luckily though we are coming out of that poverty, but we poor die.

Are u judging our wealth only based on foreign reserve?

0
Avatar

At that time, we only had $6billion (with $30billion debt). I wouldn't think that was rich. Today, after 8 years, we've got $45billion. That's close to Bill Gates total worth. ie Nigeria is poor. However, we're coming up very fast.

What I've done for Nigeria, and keep doing for Nigeria is that I spend time and effort telling people about the true state of Nigeria. Both bad and good.

There was a time Nigerians believed Nigeria was very rich, just that the country didn't want to spend the money to change things. I spent time speaking to people in rural areas, molues and classes telling them the true state of the nation's bank balance and foreign reserves. Through emails and internet groups too.

I teach Nigerians about the constitution and their rights and I believe as I get more empowered, I'll do a lot more.

What else? I search for government officials' email address and phone numbers and I send them mails and texts messages on mistakes the public perceives they are making.

I no get money, but I still dey try on my own level.

@Kimba

I don't hate Nigeria, i never said i did. (actually the topic has presently been sligthly changed i replied in refernce to the initial topic)

Nigeria has done me no wrong and so taking offence to it would be, inconsiderate. I am proud to be Nigeria. Can't actually admit to having done anything profitable for it but i have also never done anything of great demise for it so it's more of a 50/50 share.

well for those who are not aware. we do have like tribal meetings in america about once a month. they talk and discuss ways to improve not only the country but africa as a whole. and the donate money to nigeria. after the money gets sent of, its ya''ll business as to what ya'll wanna do with the money. so don't think that africans in america are doing nothing. they are trying their best.

I guess we should not complain or get angry when the foreign media publish unfavourable stories about nigeria, if we don't see anything good in ourselves, what do we expect others to see?

You don't need to get to a position of authority before you can make a difference. If as an ordinary individual your disposition is indifference then you can't do anything if you get to a position of authority.

You need to have a mindset that believes in the future of Nigeria as a nation, without that we are just a collection of tribes and ethnic groups who just happened to be grouped together as a country
