What Is Fashola Doing About The Corruption Acts Of Police Officers?

It has really been an issue with police officers collecting money from the danfo drivers, this is really going out of hand?

There no place you will get to that you would meet them on the way and not just in one place but many places.

Especially around Ipaja/Ayobo area.

There are two of them that are popular:

Ambali Ismaila, i don't no the other guy's name, just is nick name, Yellow.

Mr Fashola, please do something about this.

Every police officers in Nigeria should have on his uniform a registered number and an engraved name. It should be mandatory for all police officers in Nigeria and this will be more easy for us to report a corrupt police officer.

agreed, NPF is aou of Gov Fashola's jurisdiction. how about the corrupt LASTMA officials that harrass motorists and extort money from them at every opportunity they get.

This is clearly out of Fashola's jurisdiction. Talking to the State Commissioner of Police or the IG would also be a fruitless effort as these people have issued orders on countless occassions about the ilegality of police mounted road blocks but all such orders have fallen on deaf ears. It is clear that both the Commissioner and the IGP can not adequately control their men.

Has it not surprised anyone that, on major roads, these policemen would happily mount their road blocks and without a care in the world, collecting their #20, and these are roads plied by high ranking government officials. I make bold to say that even if the IGP is not careful these guys would collect #20 from him.

The Nigerian POlice Force Seriously Needs Re branding but Fashola is not constitutionally empowered to do that.

The Federal Government can start the process of re branding by first addressing the rot in the high places(Inspector General, Ministry of POlice Affairs).

The first thing Nigeria has to do is re orientate the police by providing a reasonable accomodation, schooling for their children, reasonable pay rise, more training, better welfare package and better police facilties until that happens we just have to live with this corrupt practise.

God Bless

But Fashola can talk to the commissioner of police or the IGP of police.

It will always start from somewhere.

People, People People.

It is called Nigerian Police, not Lagos State Police.

Until we get true Federalism in this country were each state can control its police, then such complaints should go to the Federal Government.
