Who Should Replace Inec Chairman Come June 2010?

According to Nigeria's Acting President,INEC Chairman's tenure will not be renewed.Prof. Iwu's tenure expires in june this year.The Ag. President went further saying;

“We will inject fresh blood and we will make sure that we bring people on board that if their names are mentioned, people in the civil society will be happy that they can conduct free and fair election. Of course that is psychological because as I said it has to do with perception so we are a bit lucky in that respect.”

The Acting President said that INEC had lost public confidence to conduct free and fair election, adding that it would be difficult for the government to allow the current leadership of the commission to go ahead with the conduct of next year’s elections.

He said: “People have the perception that the body cannot do what is right and even when they do what is right people find it very difficult to believe. That is the story of the Nigerian electoral body, the INEC. The feeling is that INEC cannot conduct credible elections in Nigeria.”

All these noise about Uwais, Belgore and Oguntande bla bla bla

These men constitute the very Justices of the Supreme Court who have always been on hand to endorse whatever results thrown at them in the name of Presidential election.

In assessing the credibility of these men to give us good election and make the right judgement, let us also explore how many times these men have sat in the courts to endorse INEC election results which we percieve as flawed.

If these men denounced those elections as flawed may be we would have had a second run, or a 3rd run or a 4th run untill the riggers understand that is not the way to go. But most times these Judges did not deem it fit to rule against these elections we consider flawed. They lacked courage then to do the right think, why will they have courage now?

What makes us think they will change the status quo if they usually agree with INEC.

So let us find real replacements not anybody but Iwu. Those calling on Anyaoku should stop dreaming. The man knows that Nigerian political waters are too tough for him.
