Why Is The Rich Southern Nigeria Politically Surbordinates To The Poor North?

I keep wondering why Nigerians from the southern part of Nigeria comprising of the East, West and South are so politically inferior to the North

From all indications, the North should be a region of the farce called Nigeria, why is it that the political arrangement divided the country into the North and the South (West, East and South)?

Why must the North struggle to rule Nigeria, after having led the country for many years, without any positive development?

Why can't we just produce good leaders irrespective of ethno-religious backgrounds?

Why is the South so speechless and frightened when the North makes political pronouncements?

Why is it that the region with the least education, least resources and least development has the upper hand in the political leadership of Nigeria?

Why is the politics of Nigeria so anti-developmental?

Why must the North feel threatened because a Southerner is an "Acting" president?

Why is it compulsory for a northerner that is not stimulating development to remain in power?

Is Leadership the birthright of the North?

We are not the only culturally diverse nation in the world, yet our own diversity seem unique and allergic to development.

Please can any of you mention any Northern politician that has political ideas like Fashola and Duke?

the military

northerns invest all their time and resources into dominating the military.

therefore to keep power in nigeria, nigeria must remain a military state.

when the military looses political influence in nigeria, so will the north

also, the fulani oligarchy is very powerful and very influential. Its not the 'north' that dominates politics in nigeria

its the fulani oligarchy, other northerns are voiceless and even slaves in some aspects.

but my point is, who cares? what does the "president of nigeria" really mean? nothing to the average nigerian.

If a law is passed by the president, nigerians will choose if they want to follow it or not in the end of the day

that's our nature. Southerns, mainly Igbos, ignore the government cause it's pointless and illegitimate anyways.

For instance, the north has been in power for a long long time, but they get poorer by the second while the south gets richer

so what is really the benefit of the 'presidency'?

Bluetooth:

Why Should I count out the Southwest? Does the southwest not bow to the north in Nigeria's political game? Where is South west politically classifed?

Abeg give me space make I hear word!

I wish the Southwest was indeed classifed as Western Nigeria (Instead of Southern) in the Political arrangement of Nigeria.

Count the Southwest out Ko! Cant the South west in Ni! As If you had a choice! Mmmcheeeeeeeew!

I am surprised that there are people that are beginning to look at this things from a logical point of view, the fact remains that you can never join an outsider to fight your own house cause that would definitely hunt you later, you cant join a stranger to attack you own brother, you would win alright but the stranger and his brothers would from that moment have your Bottom in their hands, cause you don't have a brother now, the North only used the civil war to perfect the art of divide and rule, the victory of the war remains Northern victory cause in the South we are all bickering, we have a lot of bad blood flowing around so we cant function, we should all be ashamed in the South to even think that we are smarter than the Northerners cause we are not apparently.

the difference between a northern man with the other in the south, east and west of nigeria is that, the northern man understands the game of politics which have been played and won over 5o years ago

and the worst of it is the kind of comments i see on post, the younger generations coming up don't even know jack about politics.

i assure you that the predictions of the capitalist block failed even long before they made the predictions, so 4get it if you think Nigeria will disintegrate, go meet Ojukwu, uwazurike etc so you all understand the politics of disintegration.

The beauty of this whole drama is that the North is already loosing sympathy from the international community.

The world is coming to realise what a joke this region has come to become and how they are affecting the rest of Nigeria.

Even Hillary Clinton's latest pronouncement shows that they are already thinking of a divided Nigeria along South and North.

This folks called North are full of crap. They have no clue what progress is.

Is the north responsible for the killings between ife and modakeke who have the same language, lineage and religion? At an age when countries like USA are bringing races together to form superpowers and the Europeans are telling each other "let's stop discriminating and come together as European Union", "educated" Nigerians are telling each other "let's end discrimination by parting ways". Is that the most intelligent solution that we can think of?

They(North) saw the civil war as war between North and South irrespective of the fact that the west and some south south fought for the Northern(Nigeria) side. Since Nigeria won the war they see it up till today as Northern Victory that's why they threat all of us as vanquish.

This is why i laugh in dismay and SMH when i see my western brothers classify the easterners as losers.

The North has ruled Nigeria for forty years out of fifty (both millitary & Civilian). Their long years of millitary (illegal) rule is no joke. They errected some fake structures that will take much time to uproot. I know with time, things will adjust.
