Are You Really A Christian?

We call ourselves xtian and we claim to have been in the best churches in the world. We attend church service every sunday and even week days and we pay our tithes every months. But in our heart I ask, are we a practicing xtian? For me, I am not but by God grace I am.

should have never conversed with you in the first place. even on a religious thread, you can't even pretend to be Christ-like.

olboy you be original mumu, mind you the jewish law of tithe(which was abolished by the death of Jesus on the cross) was not given in malachi but rather in deut 14:22-29.

But criminals who call themselves keepquoting malachi because malachi was not explicit.

The book of deut oronomy clearly made it clear what could be tithed, the frequency of tithing and who should benefit from it.

your criminal pastors twist the scriptures to extort money from you.Tithes that were made to be paid to the tribe of levites(which no nigerian pastor belongs)once every three years(deut 14:28,deut 26:12) is now being preached on weekly and monthly basis

What does one tenth means? what does it mean?

have you ever read Malachi? if not, then read that part. tithe is not just to be spent by pastors but it's for the less privileged, the homeless, orphans, widowers e.t.c but some of the pentecostal pastors ain't seeing it this way, yet that does not mean it's wrong to pay tithe.

let'start with tithes, where in the bible are christians asked to pay tithes?

Where in the bible (both OTand NT) was it written that tithes could be paid, weeekly or monthly or even with money?

Where in the bible was it written that God can just ask anyone to go and form a church?

Pentecostal? i don't worship the church or the pastor, i worship God and try to live a Christ lifestyle, one of the major reasons why i attend a pentecostal church is that they are not as worse as the rest of the denominations in interpreting the bible.

Are you pentecostals any better ? Even thouh I don't bagree with JWs on several issues I know that their own case is simply being sincerely wrong.

Pentecostalism is simply the most corrupt sect ever to arise in christian history. Before the advent of this madness churches were founded only on doctrinal differences but the advent of these mad form of christianity has led to the proligeration of business organisations whoose only purpose is profit making throuh the collection of illegal tithes and first fruits.

Criminals just wake up one morning and claim God has called them to form churches.Where in the scriptures is that sort of madness practised ?Did Peter,James,Paul and the other Apostles belong to differant churches?

YOUR CRIMINAL PASTORS WHO GO ABOUT BUYING PRIVATE JETS EVEN WHEN MOST OF THEIR MEMBERS CANNOT AFFORD THREE SQUARE MEALS ARE THERE BORN AGAIN?

You are not getting my point, what i was trying to say with my previous post is that in our society now, ANYONE WHO GOES TO CHURCH OR CLAIM TO BE A CHRISTIAN IS GROUPED AND CALLED A CHRISTIAN. but that's wrong, as you already said which i also share, Christianity has to be someone who lives a Christ-like lifestyle.

since our society does not know the difference between a christian who accepts Jesus and his teachings with someone who attends church or calls himself/herself a christian without accepting Jesus or being born again. hence the reason why people emphasize the word "born again" when trying to address any issue that has to do with being a true christian. hope i was able to clarify myself?

A Christian (pronounced /ˈkrɪstjən/ ) is a person who adheres to Christianity, an Abrahamic, monotheistic religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, who Christians believe is the Messiah

Once you are not living your life based on the teachings and life of jesus christ, you dont accept him as you messaih who came to save your from your sin and iniquities. If you like go to penticostal churches, catholic, jehova witness or what ever, sleep in the church everyday. You are, nothing but hypocirtes and not a christian.

It is high time we stop abusing this word christian. There is no two ways abt it, bible made it clear on its position. Either you are a christian or you are not. That is why in the book of mathew 5:13 jesus said " Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt lost its savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is therefore good for nothing, but to cast out, and to be trodde under foot of men.

Once you lost your taste as a salt, you are no more salt. You cannot say you are christian(christ-like) and you dont follow the footstep of jesus christ, You hide uder christianity to to commit all manners of athrocities, what kinda christian are you? The kingdom of God as preached by Christianity is never divided is either you are out or you are in, either you are a christian or a hypocrites simple.

Christian is the general word for anyone who attends church, but Born again christian is the name for those who accepted Jesus as their personal savior and who live his kind of lifestyle.

what do you call a Jehovah witness?

Catholics

Ekankas e.t.c?

Christians right? but do they live a Christ-like lifestyle?

You will see how Jesus christ analysed the acts of the pharisee. if there were christians why did jesus said "woe unto you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former".

The pharisees were never christains. In fact, the did not accept many teaching of jesus christ. Was it not the same Scribs and pharisee that sentenced him to death becoz they said his teaching was contrary to the laws of Moses. Eg.healing on the sabbath day, Harvesting on the sabbath day and preaching himself as the king of kings etc.

@princekevo

do you know the meaning of Pharisee and Jewish ruling council or who they were.

they were the pple who made sure that the law of moses are kept, and yes they were not followers. I call him "Xians" cos that is what Xians do today, keeping the 10 commandments and church doctrine

ok! let me separate them; a xtian is a person who goes to church every sunday, and keeps it's doctrine, but has not excepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour, and whose sins have not been washed with His blood

meanwhile, a born-again or born-again Xian is that person who goes to church every sunday, excepted Christ in his life, whose sins have been 4given, who has been washed with His blood and water, unfortunately, these pple are rear nowadays, but see your Pastor for more research.

From the bible teaching, there is nothing like a born again christain. The word born again christain came into play, becoz today we see the word christian as a mere religion(i belong) and not a way of life. Many confesses to be christain but does not profess christainity. That is why the word 'born again' came into play to make the separation between those who live a life of christ, as in the original meaning of christian and those who jst answer christian becoz they were born in a christian family and bears a christiain names.

If you read the book of Acts 11:26 you will discover the origin of the word christian, meaning 'Christ-like' or 'christ people' if translated directly from the Original Hebrew word 'christia noi'. So from the meaning and origin of the word christain, you cannot say you are a christian and not born agian. It simply implies that either you are christian or you are not. If you say you are christain, and  you dont live your life as christ did, born of the water and of the spirit(born again), then what are you? A PHARISEE(hypocrites).
