Is it true that God can heal all the diseases in the world? Is He really doing that these days? What does the Bible say about this? Learn more here.
We live in the world that is messed up. It is filled with suffering and diseases. There is no one day that the news don’s show another horrible catastrophe where people get seriously injured or become handicapped for lives.
Meanwhile, we read in the Bible that God loves people.
“In this, the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” (1 John 4:9-11)
We often believe that God who loves people would have healed all the diseases long ago not to see all the people on the earth suffer. Can God cure all the diseases in the world including ones like HIV and AIDS?
The answer is simple: yes, He can. He is almighty which means there is nothing He cannot do. He can heal all the people, and make their bodies healthy again.
Here are several verses from the Bible that show that he is truly almighty.
“He is wise in heart and mighty in strength —who has hardened himself against him, and succeeded?” (Job 9:4)
“But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)
“It is he who made the earth by his power, who established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding stretched out the heavens.” (Jeremiah 10:12)
“[He is the one] who rules by his might forever, whose eyes keep watch on the nations— let not the rebellious exalt themselves.” (Psalm 66:7)
“"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."” (Revelation 1:8)
“Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am God Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless.” (Genesis 17:1)
“Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might, and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone.” (1 Chronicles 29:12)
As you see, there is nothing God cannot do. He created the whole universe, and He is maintaining it ever since.

In fact, He is the only one in charge of all the healing processes. He created people, He keeps lives in them, and it is only Him who knows how to fix the consequences of sin which are the diseases.
The major part of all the healings took part in the New Testament when Jesus, God in the flesh, came to the earth with the only mission to save people and bring them to God through paying for their sins on the cross.
Here are a few stories of how Jesus saved people and gave their health back to them. He proved that God could heal.
“When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.” Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?” The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith. I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that moment.”
“When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw Peter’s mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever. He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him. When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.” (Matthew 8:5-17)
Another story is here:
“And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. “Who touched me?” Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.” But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.” Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.” (Luke 8:43-48)
“While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” he said. “Don’t bother the teacher anymore.” Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.” When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James, and the child’s father and mother. Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. “Stop wailing,” Jesus said. “She is not dead but asleep.” They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. But he took her by the hand and said, “My child, get up!” Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat. Her parents were astonished, but he ordered them not to tell anyone what had happened.” (Luke 8:49-56)
So, as you see Go truly can cure any disease. However, the question still remains of why God doesn’t cure all diseases.
The thing is that God is allowing the disease happen in the lives of certain people as a part of His great plan which He has for everyone. People get more humble and easier to approach when they are ill. Thus, sometimes God is letting diseases happen to achieve particular goals and make our hearts see something we won’t see otherwise.
Therefore, if you are suffering from a disease at the moment, pray for healing and be on the watch to see what God is trying to tell you through these circumstances. And here is another verse that explains to you what to do when you are sick.
“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” (James 5:13-15)
All in all, if you are sick remember that God can heal you, so pray for the healing. However, keep in mind that God might not heal you right away to achieve individual goals and changes in your heart, motives, and life in general.
