Christian God, Muslim Allah Same? No

Fellow Christians, i have heard severally from the mouth of people for various reasons say

1. You will find muslims in heaven

2. We are serving one God

But here is what is the truth that we Christian Believe

1. The bible is clear about the way and it says that he who believes and recieves him as God the son has enternal life. 1 John 5:11-12 ", and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." Am not God and hence have not the power to decide who enter heaven or not but with this understand of the bible, i am seriously thinking.

2. God is in three persons, God the father, God the SON and God the holy spirit

What makes My God and the Muslim God the same when they dont believe in the very essence of God as GOD, GOD the son. We believe Jesus is God himself and hence worship him while my muslim brother dont.

The essence of Christianity is Christ, put him out and there is no WE.

Thank you people for fighting and for those who are calming others thanks too.

Can we let be hold their own view and lts discuss as matured people? who have a God that teaches us to be peaceful.

I have my view, i live with a muslim in the same house but everytime we discuss, i still tell him that we dont serve the same God based on my belief, if he believes we do, its left for him. I have studied my bible and the very essence of My God which i so believe in is absent in the Muslim Koran.

I know most muslim like to carry the notion that we serve the same God, just that we Christians are doing so in a wrong way.

Let me clear many things here about Trinity, begets and so many issues that muslims bring up. When you reduce the things of God to the reasoning of Man, you lose the power within. God said, your wisdom is foolishness to me. your ways are not my ways.

Christians worship the real God. But Muslims worship the other guy.

I can prove it.

You cant be worshipping the same God in two different ways. Its impossible.

Satan is just trying to mimick the worship of God.

The Angel that Mohamed saw was an Angel of Satan dressed in White robe.

I can tell you the diffrent ways the satanic kingdom operate.

They can take the look of an Angel in white. But their are some forms they cant turn into.

The devil and hes servant cant take the form of a Dove.

So dont believe anything that you see in White. Most are fake.

I said again, Satan and hes demons cant take change to a Dove. Because its the symbol of Peace. The Symbol of the presence of God in the Universe. However they (the Dark Kingdom) can change to numerous forms of animals and Human Beings.

@true seeker,av just decided to leave u to your faith cos you totally lack wisdom,if you  say your own god has children, mine does not,and am sure you are not blind when i refered my beget meaning as to give birth not  creation, mine and other muslims God(Allah) is a creator and not a father of anyone,is far from being a father to none but a master over everything he created and we are not complaining of being slaves to him day and night till death and eternity,we can humbly say our father is Adam and not God.

And about my God and religion you are insulting and you pretending and saying you are telling fact, that fact would be shown to you on judge ment day, hope you know that,so you can continue all your effort in telling your fact(lies) and you think u can decieve people, i tell you today, millions of you and uncountable can not stop stop Allah's decree on his creatures

To me Muslims and Christians are like two people eating two different fruits, one eating an apple and the other a banana. Both knows they're all eating fruits but both men think his fruits is better than the other one.

You can have your favourate but it does not mean the other one is bad.And you could have both, there is no need to choose.

For God sake fruits are fruits, they all have nutritions that are good for your body and if eaten both,it can only be good for you.

Think about it!

I am not abusing your religion am only stating the fact for the humble heart who are genuinely seeking to know the truth.

@uplawal

begets in my dictionary mean 1.  To father; 2. To cause to exist or occur; produce:

So if Allah is a barren god, there is no how he can cause to exist and become a creator.

On the other hand bible say concerning God that He is father and creator: " Jehovah, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are our Potter; and all of us are the work of your hand" Isaiah 64: 8

Can one say that about a god who beget not? Clearly Allah is not a creator, whereas God as portray in the bible is.

From your post you seem to be in support of Xtian God, i espected you to dwell on Xtian perspective of God with biblical references instead of devoting so much time writing on Muslim perspective of Allah so that we can learn so much from you.

@uplawal.

My sister, i think you can do better by not been abusive in your write-up. You can enlighten us about Muslim Allah with Quranic references as well.

it is so unfortunate that despite all that has been said that the christians and moslems in this forum has not learnt anything at all. that is why i keep on emphasizing on experiencing God. when one has the experience of God the mind is rendered speechless because such an experience is beyond the mind as the mind can not put in a form that it can understand. only soul can understand it. i still thank God today for making such an experience possible for me in this lifetime and this has lifted me above the petty arguements about God. the glory of God can not be captured in a book. it can only be experienced. and once you experience it you will come to understand the meaning of God's love and that this love is for all souls no matter your religion or your race. the holy books are filled with the stories of how some souls were able to experience God. so that means that each of us must endeavour to also have that experience and write our own holy books. it is not limited to any one soul. God is always looking for souls that are ready to be a channel for God's love.

@true seeker, but you know your own god(christian god) is jesus of the bible and hes long dead since, what a dead god to serve.

Allah(swt)who beget not, meaning he does not ahave a child and he was not begotten, meaning he was not born of anybody, hope thats clear to you.

or have you forgotten the meaning of begotten, cos youre so daft to have related it to other creatures since you foolishly forgot that begotten has to do with some one giving birth to a human, like david begot solomon.i wondered why you cant think straight, but always thinking foolish

Your quotation above only show more that your Allah is different from Christian God.

1.

This implies that Allah is not the same as God, but a name of a deity, if not your statement will be translated to mean "my God is 'God'"

I think that some of the comments are rather proving benodic's point. Arguing about what is said in the Bible and Qur'an is developing into aggressive tit for tat. The original thread was trying to determine whether God and Allah are one and the same. This thread is developing into point scoring about who knows what within the holy books.

In my opinion God and Allah is one and the same. He is the creator of the universe and we all have the right to worship him in whatever fashion we choose without condemnation from others.

The holy books were developed to provide answers to the mysteries of the world. As science challenges and disproves some of the scriptures in the holy books (ie. the world was created in seven days) perhaps there should be a need for a new holy book (don't ask me to do it). The world and life moves on and if we remain dogmatic to everything that is written in the holy books then we risk getting left behind. Science does not have the answers to eveything and as I have mentioned in another thread nobody can answer the question "who or what put the atom in place that exploded, creating the universe?" We have to conclude that it was a creator; God, Allah, Jehovah or whatever name you care to give him. This in mind perhaps we need a new holy book that takes into account what science does know.

Perhaps we can continue this thread with friendship and love, not aggression

Care to teach Christians their Bible, as well be willing to let Christians teach you your own Quran?

What do you understand from Jesus statement in John 8:58 - "Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am"?

The OT teaches the Trinity - but not in the way that Muhammad confused it and claimed he was being inspired by Allah.

Was the Quran not written by the hands of men? We know that the third Caliph burnt copies of the Quran, did he not? Why? And do you care to let us know what part of the Quran a goat ate from under Aisha's bed?

0

Allah and God are both the same. Allah is the arabic name for God. Are we worshipping the same God?

Well yes and no

Christains dont really understand the bible very well. Christains believe in trinity. They claim Jesus existed before he created Adam,i wonder while the bible did not make mention of that.Through out the old testament, the bible never enphasized on trinity.

But why i am really amazed is that its in the new testament that was written by just the disciples of jesus that we find trinity.

The Quran is God's word and it makes us to understand that there is nothing like trinity and that jesus was not crucified

So tell me, which is more holier, abook written by eye witnesses disciples which is subject to error, or a book directly conveyed to prophet muhammed throgh angel gabriel?

dear norri,

thanks a lot for your insight. if more people had the same insights we would have been living in another golden age by now. unfortunately, it is the ego of man that will not let go. we always want to believe that ours is better than others. in the inner worlds none of the spiritual masters are quarelling with each other. they are there awaiting any soul that makes the effort to reach out to them to learn the truth about life. it is only the blind followers that go around harassing others and claiming that their God is a bigger God. any way, a pleasant surprise awaits each of these souls. once they translate leaving behind the madness of this earth world, the scales will fall from their eyes and the light of truth will dawn on them.

Do we have to be religious scholars to make our points of view known. We do not have to be scholars to practice our religion, share love and know what is right or wrong. Sometimes having a deep knowledge of what our holy books are trying to tell us blinds us from reality. Arguments insue over one small passage in the scriptures.

Ultimately we need to practice faith and love and live our lives doing good. This can be done whether we are christians, muslims, buddhists or hindu.

Again, we all believe in a creator whether we call him God, Allah, Jehovah. I do not mean to belittle scholars of religion, I just feel we do not need to be theologians to have a view on religion.

Basically, there is no difference between xtian God and Muslim Allah.

Allah is an Arabic word for God almighty, God is an English word for the supreme being while Jehovah is an Hebrew word for God. We can go on an on like this.

I think where the problem lies is xtian perspective of their God and Muslim perspective of their Allah.

Can any xtian tell me who is xtian God?

Can any Muslim also tel me who is Allah?

May be from these two questions above we can educate and learn from each other with open mind.

welcome to the club RSA. that is the club of those that have finally realised that there is no difference between souls. we are all created equal by God and God loves all of us equally too. when God created the universes It did not create any religion. religion was created by man as a means of trying to relate to God. unfortunately people now put religion before God and before their fellow souls and start creating dichotomies when in reality none really exist. for me now as i wake up in the morning i asked God my father to make me a vehicle for Its love and to give me strength to distribute that wonderful love to all souls without minding their religion, their race or their colour.

Dalai Lama speak.

1. What is life like for the Tibetans still living in China?

"Tibetans within Tibet live in constant fear, and the Chinese authorities remain constantly suspicious of them. Their religion, culture, language and identity are near extinction."

(March 2009)

2. How bad is it? "The Tibetan people are regarded like criminals, deserving to be put to death."

(March 2009)

3. How did this situation begin?

"Around 1949, Communist forces began to enter north-eastern and eastern Tibet. By 1950, more than 5,000 Tibetan soldiers had been killed."

(March 2009)

4. And how did you finally get out?

"Accompanied by a small party of Tibetan government officials… I escaped into exile in India. Thereafter, nearly 100,000 Tibetans fled into exile in India, Nepal and Bhutan. During the escape and the months that followed, they faced unimaginable hardship."

(March 2009)

5. And what are your feelings about the Chinese?

"From time immemorial, the Tibetan and Chinese peoples have been neighbors. In [the] future too, we will have to live together. Therefore, it is most important for us to co-exist in friendship with each other."

(March 2009)

6. Peaceful co-existence is obviously preferable, but what if that does not happen?

"We must also prepare ourselves well in case the Tibetan struggle goes on for a long time. For this, we must focus primarily on the education of our children and the nurturing of professionals in various fields."

(March 2009)

7. What's the solution?

"Tibetans are looking for a legitimate and meaningful autonomy, an arrangement that would enable Tibetans to live within the framework of the People’s Republic of China."

(March 2009)

8. Why do you maintain your philosophy of non-violence?

"Because violence can only breed more violence and suffering, our struggle must remain non-violent and free of hatred. We are trying to end the suffering of our people — not to inflict suffering upon others."

(December 1989)

9. Define peace.

"Peace does not mean an absence of conflicts — differences will always be there. Peace means solving these differences through peaceful means: through dialogue, education and knowledge."

(November 2006)

10. And finally, how does Buddhism inform your world view?

"Although I have found my own Buddhist religion helpful in generating love and compassion — even for those we consider our enemies — I am convinced that everyone can develop a good heart and a sense of universal responsibility, with or without religion."

(December 1989

@Benodic I like what I'm reading from you,I could read your post the whole day.I think the biggest thing that make lot of people get hooked to their religion is the 'God love us more' syndrome.Jesus didn't teach this but most Christians believe their religion is the only religion and that anyone who is not following its teaching is a sinner no matter how good you are as a human being.

Jesus was preaching peace, tolerance and humanity.Present day Christians are preaching the opposite,if you're not with them then you're an enemy or you've got demon and you need prayers to cast your demons out.

I grew up in a very religious Christian family and when you question certain things,I remember my mother use to make me kneel and cast out all the evil spirits in me and this use to upset me a lot.Muslims or other religions in my house where considered evil and satanic.

I knew from my heart that I love God and my love for God wanted me to find out why we are so divided and how come God choose certain group over the other even when all of them proclaim their love him?.

Today I can happily say I consider my self a child of God,and as  a child of God it means I carry his surname, which means I'm God and everybody around me is also God and we are all here to do God's work.Which is doing the right things, tolerance, peace, humanity and caring for each other.I am the happiest man today because I know the power I posses and the influence I've got to not only change or influence my life (positive or Negative) but of everybody around me.

dear fluting,

thanks a lot for your posting. i wish more people will come to the understanding that you and some others have already arrived at. i grew up in the eastern part of nigeria amongst christians and right now i am living amongst moslems. and i am not a christian or a moslem. but i have had very bitter experiences in the hands of christians, who maltreated me when they realized that i am not one of them. but since i have been in the north i have been existing peacefully with my moslem neighbours who never maltreated me because i am not one of them. my spiritual experiences in life have taught me that all souls are equal before God and we exist because God loves us. it does not matter our religion or our beliefs. all that God wants from us is a loving heart and that is why God keeps on sending one spiritual master after another to remind mankind about the lessons of love which we are still to learn. love and love alone is the key to heaven and not your religion.

You ask whether it is just religion that is causing the problems in the north. It is not religion that causes violence and terrorism. It is people. People say they do it in the name of religion but it is actually their lack of tolerance, lack of love and lack of compassion to human kind that causes wars. All religions try to promote peace but unfortunately some people misinterpret what their holy books say. Chistians are just as capable of creating violence in the name of religion as Muslims or any other religion, they too have divisions amongst their different sectors.

Whilst it is possible to try to understand and equip ourselves with knowledge about other religions, it is impossible to learn about all other relgion. Better we understand our own faiths but allow and accept that everybody has the right to choose the faith they wish to follow.

dear norri and RSA,

i thank both of you for understanding what i am trying to put across. if at the end of this thread i have been able to open the eyes of just one person i will be happy indeed for it is not an easy thing for a soul to make a leap in consciousness and embrace life as a whole. we as souls came from the same source and that automatically makes us all brothers and sisters. it is only in trying to use our minds to define our origin and our purpose that dichotomies arise and then some people now make this dichotomies a matter of life and death. i still repeat that it is not a matter of talking about God that will help us in life but we should strive in whatever ways to come in contact with God. this experience once had is what brings about the peace that passeth all understanding. and once you have peace and love within your heart you can not harm any soul because you will then realise that we are all one.

Benodic from the little bit you've said it as opened my eyes and heart.A friend of mine once told me that Mandela practices or follow the teachings of Bhudah or Bhuddism,I know because he is also a very close friend of the Dalai Lama.

And also I was told by someone that Jesus was a monk in his early years and that the first people that knew who he was where men from the EAST,and we all know the who the people of the east are.

One clue that shows that Jesus recieved the Budhism teaching is when Jesus teach people that when someone hit on right give them also your left side, this is complety opposite to what the Jews religion teaches,it say an eye for an eye.

Mandela also has shown many clues of his Budhism teachings, you can tell that the old man has a peace from within,he has no enemy, meaning he does not hold grudges. And he try to give as much as he can to the people.

I think in years to come maybe hundreds or thousand there will be people who will use Mandela's path to follow God.

I really like what Benodic is trying to say. He is obviously preaching love and promoting acceptance between all religions. Doing good for others and living a clean life does wonders for the soul. We all know when we have sinned. We feel guilty and struggle to live with what we have done. By giving love and doing the right thing is what creates harmony within ourselves. It doesn't matter if we are Christian, Muslim, Atheist or Aborigine, we know in our hearts what is right and good. How we choose to follow our path to God is for us to choose alone. Yes, as a Christian if we follow Jesus because he says that "I am the only path to God" that is absolutely fine but if others choose to follow a different path that is fine too.

Remember that Mohammed was born after Jesus so when Jesus proclaimed that "I am the only path to God" he was stating what he believed at that time.

dear toba,

it really does not matter what a spiritual master who came to earth to express the profound love of God did during the time he was on earth. what matters is what you have learnt from that master and if you are practicing the love that the master taught. if you are not then you have totally missed the point. i can assure you that we are all sons and daughters of God and if you can allow the love of God to flow through you to life without hindrance then you can do even greater things than what Jesus or any other master who came to earth has done. all it takes is total devotion to God.
