Did God Create Satan On Purpose?

Did God create satan on purpose?

this is something i have often wondered about.since God sees all and knows all,he must have known at the time of creating satan that this "Guy" is going to create a lot of problem for mankind

and yet he went ahead and created him.WHY?

God is a sadist.

He created an angel (lucifer) and gave him a choice. Probably one of his main reasons was sothat he could tempt eve, so that Jesus would come and die, so that he could hold man in check-- funny enough he made us and encased us in some rotting piece of meat, so fragile so inadequate. am I right?

Simple, there is no satan, but the one you create. He (just as God) lives in your head, that's how he thrives. Without man, there would be no God (or one as we know him/it)-- Everything is as it appears.

This argument would be valid if I believed in the 'satan' ideology. Compare 'Pandoras Box'.

You can't put God in a box, you can't dictate his attributes, you can't tell him what He should be or not be, He is God.

Jehovah is El- Shaddai, he is a multi-faceted, multi-dimensional, awesome God. Heb.12.29

But then, considering that these same people advocating this notion 'think' everything in creation (or rather, to be 'politically correct'; existence) is physical, that natural laws (wherever they came from) can't be broken, that humans descended from whatever, etc, its not surprising that such a God would be 'irrational'. And the 'irrational' thing is that every knee will bow to this 'irrational' GOd, till then, we'd keep talking.

Once you understand the principles behind the Internet, it makes so much sense. This is not so for religion.

The belief in an all-powerful, all-knowing, yet benevolent God is very irrational.

Of course he did, being all seeing and all knowing he still created him,he knew Lucifer would become Satan,Satan would decieve Adam and Eve,and Jesus would come and die for the children of Eve

God did not create satan; He created Lucifer who later became Satan, the devil.

One phrase has to be incorporated into this thread: Free agency.

Man is free to chose whom he will follow. Lucifer was free to choose his own path and his choices led him to where he is at the moment. Many choose various paths and consequences will result from those choices. God is all knowing and all powerful but will not impinge on our freedom to choose. The devil provides that alternative and he decided to do so. Judas chose to betray, nobody forced him. I choose to write in this thread and have automatically chosen to bear the consequences thereof.

If I design a machine and I knew it will fail or brake down after 3 years of use, then I can't blame the machine for failing because I designed it to fail and knew when it will fail. Why would I shout and burn the machine for doing what it was designed for?

I will come back to answer your other points.

Cheers

Hmmm, I don't know where you're coming from; but let me see how this plays out if I ask the following questions in just about the same way:

If God knew that man would abuse his choice and fall into sin, why was he created anyway?

If after the fall, God knew that His Son would come to earth to redeem man by facing a cruel death, why was Jesus sent anyway?

If Satan knew that through death Jesus would destroy him, why didn't he beg God not to send Jesus anyway?

If God knew that man would believe in Jesus Christ and be saved, why did He still send His Son anyway?

If salvation in Jesus Christ makes us joint heirs with God's Son, sets us as more than conquerors through Him that loved us, makes us overcomers against the wiles of the enemy, prepares us for the home of righteousness. . . why did God still go ahead to save us anyway?

You get my drift? It's not my fault for the choices Lucifer made to become Satan. I won't be held responsible for Satan's choice to be thrown out of heaven when by choice he opted to be proud with a sinister twist.

All I know is that God offered me salvation in His Son Jesus Christ, and Satan won't be held responsible for the choice I have made to received God's offer of grace in the Saviour.

If some people knew that they would still be dropouts in school, why did they seek admission into university anyway? Rather than winge about it, I'm more interested in what God has offered me in Jesus Christ.

Well i really see your point. Like i initially said, God is looking for a people that would reign with him forever, and he is looking for people who are like him so in order to find people that are like him he had to create man in his own image and in his likeness as the book of Genesis tell us. So he created man. Man can not be like God unless he has the same qualities and acts like him. he must be able to face challenges in the right way and order to be like him. Thats where the position of he(DEVIL) come in. The devil rebelled against God, And God sent him away.

he is at liberty to do what he wants to do, since is evil. he wants people on he side and so he has to seek for them. This is where the true people that God seeks for would be made. The Bible tells us that we are in the world but not of the world. So life is a trial for man to understand who God is, and what he wants of us and us achieving them. Only then can God find the true people he is looking for.

What is the point of GOD creating or making something ( SATAN) that he knew will rebel and challenge him, destroy all his good works and his only son has to die to save humans  from his (SATAN) clutches?

If you (GOD) knew he (SATAN)was going to ABUSE the choice given to him;why create him?

@poster

before you confuse yourself about who Satan is or isnt, what about all the SATAN's in Nigerias politics, the SATAN's arial boys distrurbing our peace, the SATAN's in Nigerian police-uniform, the SATAN's who do 419 everyday-destroying Nigerias image on the international screen, (u can continue this list)., the SATAN-armed robbers who will call you before coming to rob your house?, all of these kind of people are SATANs themselves.

Well before you were born, he new us. So i believe that everything that has been in existence, God knew before he created them. Gen 1:1-6, tell us about what the beginning of the world and how it was formed. So if people say that God never knew when he created Satan, how come everything on earth bows to him even the Satan himself. God is looking for a people that would be with him forever and in order him to find the people he wants he has to put those people to a test to approve of them.

@ yemo offa

Let me assure you that God created an angel with a choice. Lucifer was his original name. Lucifer chose to become a rebel. We cannot blame God for Lucifer's choice.

Secondly, the potential for one of God's intelligent creation to have rebelled was well within God's knowledge. He knew that Lucifer would rebel. Is that a reason to blame God? No way! Lucifer had absolutely no reason to have rebelled. Where this spirit of rebellion came from is a mystery. We don't know what triggered in Lucifer this spirit, but God does, and was prepared for it anyway, long before even Lucifer realized what was happening to him.

In Ezekiel 28, and Isaiah 14, both prophets speak to the reason for Lucifer's position. Listen:

Isaiah 14:12-14

12 “ How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! 13 For you have said in your heart: ‘ I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.

Ezekiel 28:12-15

12 “Son of man, take up a lamentation for the king of Tyre, and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “ You were the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. 13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created. 14 “ You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. 15 You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you.

Here the prophet gave us some reason for Lucifer's fall. He became proud by reason of his beauty. This angel was in the immediate presence of God Almighty. The prophet's use of timbrels and pipes suggest that Lucifer was highly musical, and it is believed that he was responsible for the heavenly choir.

Revelation 7 describes the heavenly battle among the angels who sided with God, and Satan respectively. A third of the angels were decieved by Lucifer, and eventually they were thrown from heaven to roam empty space. After God created Adam and Eve as intelligent humans, Satan and his demonic forces found a way to continue his deception, by getting Eve to overlook God's command not to partake of forbidden food.

Man's present suffering was caused by the first human couple. They also rebelled against God's will and instructions. Did God warn of consequencial death and suffereing because of disobedience? Yes He did.

So in all fairness God is not to blame for man's poor choices. It is out of love why God gave us fredom of choice from day one. Love gives His creature to freely choose, within limits. Beyond such limits one must be prepared for consequences. At no instant did God allow man or angel to have to choose without knowing the full consequence.

Please decipher this for me. Please explain why you believe these things? Why is loving and all knowing mutually exclusive with creating Satan? Etc, Etc.

Yes, God created Satan, but when God Created the "Satan" today, He did not create him as Satan-the bad guy.

How art thou fallen from heaven, O LUCIFER, son of the morning!" (Isa 14:12).

http://www.steliart.com/angelology_fallen_archangel.html

The name 'Lucifer, satan and devil' have become inter-changed and to refer to the same person, Lucifer, who was a great Archanger and prince, The Anointed Cherub who fell from heaven as a result of his opporision and adversity to God. Before his fall, he was one of the Ruling Princes, in the same rank with Angel Michael. From traditional theory and theology, Satan was the angel that betrayed and then led the revolt against God. They say he was very jealous of the love that God felt towards Adam. Either that he transformed himself to a snake or used the snake as a tool, satan summarily tempted Eve with the Fruit of the Tree of Knowledge. This is why even till today, snakes are treated as devlish. In fact, some people believe that snakes are Satan's re-incarnation.

God banished Satan form the Heavens. He banished him to Earth, but the working theory is that Hell is actually located within the Northern boundaries of the 3rd heaven. WIthin the 2nd Heaven, the fallen angels are imprisoned awaiting final judgment and in complete darkeness.

SO satan is on earth, walking between Heaven and Earth, staying on Earth(you go find where) and seeking to destroy the lives of Human beings and to keep them separated from God. Here on Earth, Satan is known as the devil

COnclusion: Satan/Lucifer/Devil/ whateva was not created as a bad guy. He chose to be.

In the same way, the bad people we have causing trouble for themselves in the world today, from terrorists to politicians, to the common man who does evil - is all as a result of what they chose to be.

Question: why doesnt God just force everyone to become Good. God can do it, but we won't be HUMAN anymore. We would be robots.

@Seun: Were the people who designed and oversaw your academic life, from Baby's class to the highest level of education, knew all and all loving, at the time you were under their academic authorities? Was it not the fact that they taught you what was relevant to your academic development and that you were tested on the materials taught? I believe that it was your performance in any of the test that allows the authority to know that you were a good student or not. Even though, the academic authority might have known your ability relative to that of your peers and capability to master the materials. Seun, it is your performance that was the yardstick and part of the cumulative effect of your person, today. Satan is also a means by God to evaluate mankind. He creates hearts in our bosom and mind for us to reflect along with our brain to discriminate good from bad. Whoever believes and do good in God consciousness, will have the reward from God. Whoever does opposite and primarily does not believe in God, will receive God Justice from God. God is not unjust to His Slaves/creations.

This remind me of a story told to me yesterday; An ordinary person who believed in God and do good deeds according to his capability, died while waiting for a drink of water. At the same time, a wealthy and powerful man request his servant to go and get him a meal that he had a craving for. His servant told his master that the ingredients is out of season, but the master insisted anyway. So the servant went about to get the meal any way. Miraculously, the ingredient was gotten just in time. The master eat the food and after it died. The angels of Allah ask the All Merciful;'Oh, Lord of the Worlds, why did you deprive a believer from a drink of water before hedied and yet, you allow a tyrant king to have a food that is offseason, just by his request before he died'? The Lord of the worlds said to His Angels, ' Oh My Angels, I allow the tyrant to have what he wished for on earth, so that he can not complain that I was unjust to him. However, the believer will have his reward in paradise. He was happy that he did not have to wait for the drink of water on earth, because Paradise reward is greater and more lasting'.

Seun, do not let your limited knowledge of the unseen delude you to eternal destruction! None of us know what will happen to us moments from now. Its all in the future. No one can guarantee that he/she will live to a rightful old age of 100, as an example. Yet, 100 years is a short time for those people have lived it. Do not let your lack of knowledge of God continue to allow you to deny His existence! Refect on your own self and you will find God, your Creator!

If God is loving and all-knowing, then he wouldn't have created Satan. If he is all-knowing and created Satan, then he's not loving. If God is loving but created Satan, then he doesn't know all things (he's not the God we imagine).
