Do Muslims Speak In Tongues?

Allah Akhbar,

Do muslims speak in tongues? If yes, is it also by the same power of holy spirit christians get theirs or do you enact power somehow from muhammadu to speak it?

Tongues just mean speaking in your own native language. It was done in the Bible the same way we do it today. When we are in a foreign land and he one of our brothers we speak in tongues(native tongues) so that others will not know what we are saying.hence, the "devil"(meaning our enemies).

You do not have to hunt for examples of these different types of evidences in the Bible. The following quotations will make the position crystal clear:

The FIRST Type:

(a) I will raise them up a prophet . . . and I will put my words in , and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him." (Deuteronomy 18:18)

(b) I even, I am the Lord, and beside me there is no saviour." (Isaiah 43:11)

(c) "Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the end of the earth: for I am God, and there is non else." (Isaiah 45:22)

Note the first person pronoun singular (highlighted in green) in the above references, and without any difficulty you will agree that the statements seem to have the sound of being GOD'S WORD.

The SECOND Type:

(a) "Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying Eli, Eli, lama sabachtani? . . ." (Matthew 27:46)

(b) "And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; the Lord our God is one Lord:" (Mark 12:29)

(c) "And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is God." (Mark 10:18).

Even a child will be able to affirm that: Jesus "cried" Jesus "answered" and Jesus "said" are the words of the one to whom they are attributed, i.e. the WORDS OF A PROPHET OF GOD.

The THIRD Type:

"And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he, (JESUS) came, if haply he (JESUS) might find anything thereon: and when he (JESUS) came to it, (Jesus) found nothing but leaves . . ." (Mark 11:13)

The bulk of the Bible is a witnessing of this THIRD kind. These are the words of a third person. They are not the Words of God or of His prophet, but the WORDS OF A HISTORIAN.

When the Muslim proves his point from the Christian's own Holy Scripture, and when the professional priest, parson or DAVIDYLAN cannot refute the arguments — the inevitable Christian evasion is — "DO YOU ACCEPT THE BIBLE AS GOD'S WORD? On the face of it, the question seems to be an easy one, but a simple "Yes" or "No" cannot be given as an answer. You see, one has first to explain one's position. But the Christian will not give one the opportunity. He gets impatient. "Answer — 'Yes or No!' " he insists. The Jews did the same to Jesus two thousand years ago, except that surprisingly he was not strait-jacketed, as is the fashion today!

You will readily agree that things are not always either BLACK or WHITE. Between these two extremes there are various shades of GREY. If you say "Yes" to his question, then it would mean that you are prepared to swallow everything HOOK, LINE and SINKER, from Genesis to Revelation from his Bible. If you respond with a "No" he quickly unhooks himself from the facts you have presented, and rallies support from his co-religionists in the audience with; "You see, this man does not believe in the Bible! What right has he to expound his case from our Book?" With this hydra-like somersault he rests content that he has safely evaded the issue.

we muslim believe in the "Bible" but not the one that is use today, cos the one use today has been polluted with words of other people.

THREE GRADES OF EVIDENCE

We Muslims have no hesitation in acknowledging that in the Bible, there are three different kinds of witnessing recognizable without any need of specialized training. These are:

1. You will be able to recognize in the Bible what may be described as "The Word of God."

2. You will also be able to discern what can be described as the "Words of a Prophet of God."

3. And you will most readily observe that the bulk of the Bible is the records of eye witnessess or ear witnesses, or people writing from hearsay. As such they are the "Words of a Historian"

There are NO contradictions in the Bible. As 2nd Timothy 3 vs 16 says " all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. And, in Galations, Paul shows the truth of the Word of God (the Bible) in chapter 1 vs 8 " But though we, or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Also, Islam doesn't have anything like the baptism in the Holy Spirit as found in Acts chapter 2. The power of God came down, just as Jesus told them it would, which witnesses that the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is the truth. God does have a Son. Read Psalms chapter two vs. 12 where it is written "Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who trust in him. Who is The Son? Another thing is that Jesus rose from the Dead. The implications of these verses points to the truth. Jesus said in John 14 vs. 6 " I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one cometh to the Father but by me" Amen, come Lord Jesus.

Which verse in the bible is contradictory

@theopops

Now, where do we start from, do we start from the difference between catholic and protestant bible?

Do we start with the verses missing in early publication but present in later publications?

Do we start with some contradictory verses from your book?

Do we start from the books mentioned but not present in your bible?

Gentlemen, I could have easily asked you: which Bible from the many editions, revisions, versions, publications and prints, etc from the beginning of the time that the muslims claimed that your Bible is corrupt up to this present day, that can stand for the whole of Christianity without any dessent about it, from any groupof Christians?

If you can bring it forward, look at all the others Bibles and see that they are all corrupt. Then ask yourselves, how do you end up with these many corrupt Bibles? Ask yourself further, where is the original from which the one Bible you now choose is copied from, word for word?!

Afterall of these, then come to the muslims with your findings. We will then deal with your request.

@Davidylan and theopops: If you have to ask the muslims to produce the uncorrupted Bible of the Christians, I will ask you to produce from among the many types, versions, editions, revisions, etc, of the Bible that you think is not corrupted.

The one that you want to use to stand as the proper Bible that you want the muslims' uncorrupted Bible to be compared with for authenticity. When you finally agree to a copy, go back to the community of the Christians who use the other Bibles that you will reject.

Ask them why the Bible you choose is different from theirs. Let me help you gentlemen with this idea. David, you are not a Catholic, so I believe your Bible of choice will be from the Protestants. Ask the catholics why their Bible, the Douwy version, for example is different from whatever you choose, KJB of today?

If both of you can then collude together an accept your Bible, instead of theirs, know that theirs is a corrupted Bible. If they do not agree with you, know that yours and theirs are both corrupt.

If your both agree, then go and check all the prints of KJB and compare them to the one that you choose. If you see that they are not all the same know that at least all of them and yours are corrupt.

If you are still not settled about the truth of this, then bring up that Bible you now consider to be perfect words of God. I will calmly point to you parts that are not from God.

I will also ask you to ask yourself why isn't the original Bible, in the original language in preservation so that you could use it to rebuff the claims of the muslims about the corruptions in the Bible?

These should be your method of putting this thing to rest. To simply ask the muslims to produce the authentic and uncorrupt Bible, which their Qur'an has abrogated if it had remained uncorrupted with mankind, anyhow, is disingenius.

Considering that all the Christians can't agree on a single Bible! I am not even talking about the opinions that you have about the Old Testament, compared to the New Testament.

And I will not even use what i know about the Jews, considering their position about the New Testament, to make my argument here. Just bring forward a Bible that all the Christian communities of the world, Catholics, Greek orthodox, Russian orthodox, Coptics, etc and the Protestants, including the Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc will all agree to as the only Bible!

Is it so difficult to ask you guys to produce the uncorrupted bible? I mean, for you to know that the one we have now is corrupted, you have to compare with the one that is uncorrupted. That is just pure common sense. Abi, you don't think it is?

Please, kindly produced the original text. For you to type the words in bold letters, you must have seen the original text or someone is feeding you with a whole lot of cow dung.

No, my Imam does not have one. But be sure that the bible you have is manmade, this is an understatement anyway. When even Jesus never saw it. Those who invented christianity wrote the bible U have now. What U have now is the adulterated form of the original text. They have completely turned it upside down due to self desire or should I say out of ignorance. This was done several years back. How can U find that today? Why don't U acept the Holy book sent down after the torah, which is a complete guidance to all mankind. Come on David.

We are giving you some verses in your books to clarifying the issue and explain to the public, you jump into your chair and screaming like a child who don’t no anything about it. Instead you accusing us of “corrupted” plagiarized words. When will you learn to accept false in your part? Considering a lot of passages in the bible them as “Word of God”. How you assess yourself to be a “true Christian”? Can we hear some feedback coming from you as a Christian errant?

That is deceitful you take credit to your false little god Jesus read what the Quran says;

O people of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary , was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit form Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not “THREE” ! It is better for you ! Allah is Only ONE GOD. far is it removed for His transcendent majesty that he should have a son. His is all that is in the Heavens and all that is in the Earth. And Allah is sufficient as Defender. Chapter 4 Al Nisa verse 171

How could you explain this? Are we deaf, dump to this passage written in your book?

Matthew 27.46

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, "Eli (ilah), Eli, (,ilah) la'ma sabach-tha'ni?" that is, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"

Mark 12:29 Jesus answered, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is ONE;

Empty words. Why is it then that a muslim will post an entire page filled with bible passages seeking to prove the quran is perfect

Muslims believe in all books revealed before the Quran- Torah, Injeel etc, that is, the uncorrupted forms. However, there's hardly any Bible today that has not witnessed corruption.

A Muslim can quote the bible for a number of reasons but never to prove the perfection of the Glorious Quran which is completely perfect anyway.

0
Avatar
Newbie

Muslims do not and need not the bible to explain anything. The Quran is perfect. There are no crookedness therein and it's complete. A direct opposite of the bible.

0
Avatar
Newbie

The reason is simple, as long as Jesus Christ is God it is an automatic indication that mohammad was a false prophet and Allah indeed is nothing but a false god.

muslims like to play the hypocrisy card. On one hand they DESPERATELY need the bible as cover for their religion hence their struggle to claim to "believe in Jesus as a prophet", on the other hand it is imperative that they do not recognise Jesus Christ as who He truly is - GOD . . . for the reasons noted earlier.

For the first time, I have to agree with Davidylan. Deification of Jesus,as well as God-sonship attribution, is the basic problem Islam has with Christianity. Any Muslim that believes in those two has his Islam invalidated. Similarly, any Muslim that doesn't believe in JESUS(as a Prophet of course) equally has his Islam nullified.

The kind of tongues that some christians speak, I doubt that even God will understand what they're saying, not just the devil. It is rubbish that the purpose of tongues is to speak without the devil understanding. That is utter nonsense. Besides Tongues can be interpreted.

But my concern is that in all these churches that speak tongues profusely, they all speak the tongue of angels but I've yet to see the tongues of men being spoken. I haven't been to any church where anybody in the spirit just spontaneously breaks out in Cantonese or in Urdu. You would think that tongues of men would be easier to access than tongues of angels.

The revelation of the Qur'an in Arabic set the scene for a unique and lasting relationship between the language and Islam. On the one hand, Arabic provided a very effective medium for communicating the message of the religion. On the other hand, Islam helped Arabic to acquire the universal status which it has continued to enjoy since the Middle Ages, emerging as one of the principal world languages.

It has been argued that Arabic has not simply remained 'ancilliary to Islam' but that it has also been significant as a means of 'cultural and national revival in the Arabic-speaking countries.' Arabic is a rich and expressive language and has played an important role in the cultural preservation of the Arabic-speaking people. However, without the bond it has had with Islam, Arabic would probably not have undergone the internal revolution it did, nor expanded beyond the borders of the Arabian Peninsula with such speed and magnitude.

The relationship of Islam and the Qur'an to Arabic involves more than just the use of a language to communicate a divine message. There are a number of factors which set this relationship apart from that which exists between other holy books and the languages in which they appeared, for Arabic has come to be closely associated with Islam, and in this way has acquired a semi-official status. It is implicit that anyone professing Islam cannot ignore the role Arabic plays in his faith. Embracing Islam, therefore, entails exposure to, and familiarity with, the Arabic language. Such familiarity is necessitated by the fact that memorization and recitation of Qur'anic verses in their original language is necessary for the performance of the daily rituals. Other holy books may have had an impact on the languages in which they originally appeared, but the impact that Islam and the Qur'an have had on Arabic appears to be unique in its extent and durability. It has often been the case that a holy book appears in a given language and is then translated into other languages, in which it continues to be read and recited during the performance of rituals, but, in the case of the Qur'an, although it has been translated into many languages, these translations cannot replace the original language as a language of worship, which continues to be Arabic for all Muslims, native speakers and others.

Other holy books also came to be associated with specific languages, such as the Torah with Hebrew, and, perhaps less intimately, the New Testament with Greek and Latin. However, the nature of the relationship between the Qur'an and Arabic is still unique for reasons to be given below.

This subtle unbiblical stuff is not supported by the bible. 1 Corinthians 14 clearly describes the place of speaking in tongues among the body of Christ. It is meant as a sign to unbelievers, to speak mysteries unto God, to (with interpretation) and to edify the brethren.

Verses 27 If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two or at the most three, each in turn, and let one interpret. 28 But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God.

Tongues are only given as gifts at the prompting of the Holy Spirit, they don't eve believe in the Holy Spirit.

Not all Christians speak in tongues, are you insinuating that when Christians pray the devil is listening in on the conversation?

Ninety percent of the world's Muslims do not speak Arabic as their native language. Yet in daily prayers, when reading the Qur'an, or even in simple conversations with each other, Arabic rolls off any Muslim's tongue readily. It may be broken or heavily accented, but most Muslims make the attempt to speak and understand at least some Arabic.

Why is Arabic so important to understanding the faith of Islam?

Regardless of their linguistic, cultural, and racial differences, Muslims form one community of believers. This community is based on their shared faith in One Almighty God, and the guidance He has sent down to mankind. His final revelation to mankind, the Qur'an, was sent over 1400 years ago in the Arabic language.

The original Arabic text of the Qur'an has been preserved from the time of its revelation. Translations have been done into various languages, but they all refer back to the original Arabic. In order to fully understand the magnificent words of their Lord, Muslims make every attempt to understand the rich and poetic classical Arabic language. Since understanding Arabic is so important, most Muslims try to learn at least the basics. Many pursue further study to understand the full text of the Qur'an in its original. So how does one go about learning Arabic?

Arabic is written from right to left in its own unique script, and may seem complicated. However, Arabic has a simple alphabet that, once learned, is very accurate in conveying the correct pronunciation of each word. It is possible to learn it. The resources you find here can help you get started. Visit the links to the right to find online courses, books, and software!
