LOL, funy dudes in here.

Of course pastors can fall sick.

They dont have to be FAKE to fall sick.

There's no special spiritual health plan for pastors.

If they dont claim by faith the promise of divine health available to all believers,

they can fall ill. If they dont take care of their health too, they can. . .just like any1 of us.

what is the difference between a pastor and a beleiver ?.once u are born again u are impregnanted with the same jesus a pastor is carrying.the slight difference is that a pastor is saddled with spiritual responsibility.so the right question is CAN A BELEIVER FALL SICK ?.yes.because u are a christian does not mean u cannot fall sick.u can only be blamed if u allow the sickness to remain.arise, challenge the disease, pray in the holyghost and the sickness will disappear.

whether fake or not, pastors are human being like u and me.

when the body is stress up and not well taken care off, the pastor will break down though the Lord is our strength.

also when the body lack vitamins the body will break down

as doctors fall sick, so also pastor fall sick.

it has nothing 2 do with fake or real

Lawuyi,I understand your plight jare, even the bible confirmed it in

1 Corinthians 2:6-10

6We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. 8None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9However, as it is written:

"No eye has seen,

no ear has heard,

no mind has conceived

what God has prepared for those who love him"— 10but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.

The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

Another silly thread. Are pastors not humans? What leads you to ask this type of question? Are you a minor or an adult with a 12 year old brain? Did you do biology in school at all? Wonders shall never end on NL.

Lets have a litmus test, KDK should come to me And I will inject him with 2ml of HIV infected blood. He should not take any medication henceforth and we'll see in the next five years if we can continue the discussion with him. We will all believe then.

My humble submission:

Yes! Real Pastors (like every of God's children) fall sick; but Real Pastors (like every of God's children) ought not to fall sick.

Do they?

Yes they do!

Should they?

No they ought not to!

Their is no pastor that does not fell sick, but they only use faith to say that they are very strong, and mind you the Bible says, " As a MAN thinketh, so he is" so they think positively and not negatively, which is the source of their strength, and it keep them going in life.

Elijah fell sick, Zachariah, Paul, Moses and so many prophet in the Bible also fell sick but they remain strong in faith

my little contribution is, everybody including the pastors can fall sick, and everybody including the common man may not fall sick. it is all a function of your vibration which we like to call spiritual development.

hmmmm KDK, do not cast ur pearls before swine. U cannot make everyone understand. U know the truth and trying to convince people won't work cos this issue goes beyond the natural.

The truth is that REAL Pastors like all real SONS of God are not mere men but are gods, sons of the one true God.

We are not subject to a lot of things and sickness and disease is one of them. By the stripes of Jesus we are healed. Sometimes we forget this and do not take our rightful place in the world.

As Jesus bore away our sins he also bore away disease and suffering for those that will accept him as Lord ans Saviour. When u feel sickness or disease coming upon you do you reach for God or reach for the hospital??

It's not this simple but it's a faith issue. About Paul, it was said that he had a thorn which God allowed to be with him to teach him how the grace of God was sufficient in his life and with the grace he could do much more than he ever could imagine.

Point is Pastors getting ill is a spiritual matter. If u believe they do fine and if you believe they don't fine too what's most important is when you read the Bible and it tells you that sickness has no authority over you do you think that's a lie?? Remember that the Word of God cannot be broken.

Why not? They're human beings like you & I. As long as they live in this same ecosystem. You might as well ask if they go to the loo, lie or steal. Apologies to the righteous amongst them.

sure they do! my pastor fell terribly ill some time ago, its just that they hide it

Okay, we hear. So, did Paul and his fellowlabourers "choose" to be sick? And why would they have done that?

Please consider this:

Can you please let us know if Paul also was a "fake pastor/apostle"?

Sickness, like every other thing in life is a matter of choice.

You can choose to allow sickness, OR choose to live in divine health. Since the day i caught a hold of this truth, i've never been ill again. This is like 3 years running.

God has made provision for divine health to all who believe in him, so you can choose to keep accomodating sickness in your body or say no to it.

Really, it should't be a subject for arguement, believe whatever you will, it doesn't really matter, however, what you believe would work for you.

Real Pastors don't fall sick. Only fake pastors do

Dont be deceived by these fake pastors. No body born of a woman will say he dont fall sick.

Any body that tells you that he can not fall sick is a lair and you should not go ahead listeneing to whatever he preaches because he is a lair.

For those spouting the line that "pastors" or so-called "matured-christians" do not fall sick:

1. Do you know any 'pastor' or 'mature-christian' that wears recommended glasses? If so, why is that pastor/matured-christian's faith not sufficient for them not to need glasses?

2. Do you know any of them that takes vitamin tablets and such like? If so, why is that necessary.

3. Why are some so-called pastors etc hawking vitamins and other medication on so-called "christian TV"?

4. Does any pastor/matured-christian die of illness? Or do they all only die of old age?

5. What do you make of Galatians 4:13 (as below taken from NLT deliberately for clarity)?

Apostle Paul said:

Any Pastor that tell you he does not fall sick is a fake man of God. God have design the human body in sure a way that men fall sick for better perform.

Alot of Nigeria Pastor lie, and some of this so call men of God are 419 . Yes God can heal. but even in the bible men of God fall sick.

The reason some of this  Nigeria Pastor lie about healing , is because they want you to come to their church, so that they can take your money. Sometime, they arrange this miracle.

pls guys, every normal physiological human being get tired after a hard days job,if u xpose ur self to germs u could have an infection, pastor or person, wat i know of is that pastors prefer to pray for thier healing or pray to stay healthy,i.e divine healing and divine haelth respectively,to take ill does not proof anything,i know a lot of heavily anoited pastor who fall ill but b4 u know it they are up because they pray their healing down easily, medicaly speaking we dont have those set of humans who will never feel a pain or two from the pressure of the day, most people who stay healthy just know their warnig signs, they eat well and rest well, that it ,common sense and proper hygine can keep u healthy

i think the question shd have been " do born-again christians fall sick?"

the answer is simple: born -again christian should not fall sick but should in case they do, God has provided healing for them through faith in the name of Jesus. a pastor is just a born agian child of God occupying an office in the vineyard.

I am close to a couple of top pastors in Nigeria as a christian journalist of over six years. Let us not deceive ourselves. The fact is they do get sick. Whoever claims he is a pastor and does not fall sick is a blantant liar. I challenge any to make such a claim. Hope this will put the contention to rest. It is needless in the first place if most men of God are truly sincere with us. Thanks

plz let change the question to 'does pastors die'?

The pastor way never sick for a long time na AA. let be realistic pastors are flesh and blood like everyother person they might just be stronger in spirit

The body has a normal feeling. There are times in which we have breakdowns, when the body needs some rest it happens to everyone.

You dont expect a pastor to come out and tell you he is sick and that he cant minister today then how do you expect the members to feel.  Pastors have faith and they believe in the healing power of Christ on the cross of calvary.

We are all living by the grace of God.

I have seen "unbeliever" (That word again? Is there anything like unbeliever? Even he who believes there is no God, is a "believer" that there is no God?) who has never fallen sick and I have seen great men of God in a protracted illness.

We live by HIS grace.

Let me conclude by saying that on the earth here, whether you serve God or not, God extends His blessing to everybody, equally. The reward of a believer is in heaven.

hello, all,

the problem with today christians is that they are not sincere. and to the best of my knowledge that is the reason why it seems as if following Jesus is difficult.

We are human with blood and if we fail to take care of our self we can be sick. Timonthy leave with an ailment ( paul wrote a letter to him and said take a little wine for your stomach sake). i don't know among us who is better than paul or timonthy. even paul has  thorn in his flesh.

Let be realistic and stop being deceived by pastors who are puffed up by there own knowledge rather than God's.

those who warship God must do so with the spirit and truth ( truth is a function of sincerity).

@Infourmer,

Nope, that's not what we believe. You would still need to calm down and try not forcing yourself to deliberately misread issues into people's posts. This is the second time I've clarified and clearly stated that what you're assuming is not what is my persuasions. Do go back and read the distinctions I made in mine; and it would help us a bit more if you don't try to force misreadings just because you're not happy the way you have been handling discussions here.

Warmest regards.

@Backslider,

Lol. . . take it easy - don't be quick to denounce anyone, "outright" or not. Let God be the sovereign Judge of all. As for us, we have a responsibility to discern; and if we feel unsafe when we listen to anyone, all we can do is "avoid them" (Rom. 16:17).

@Infourmer,

Rather than try to hurdle and scale between points, why is it difficult for you to simply acknowledge what the WORD of God reveals? How many times does one have to experience sickness before you count it as such? This kind of reasoning is quite unfortunate, to say the least. You scooted from Paul to Timothy; hurdled that and went to Job; seeing Epaphroditus was too much for you to handle, you went round trying to force an unfounded reason into Job's and Paul's experiences. . . and now the latest mechanical device is to resort to how many times they fell sick before you see the case?

Infourmer, if you simply have nothing to say any further in defence of your unsubstantiated assertions, please let us know - nobody dey argue to win any point.

I hear you. The point again is that we should not use our own personal ideas to dictate issues for other Christians - because when they ask questions and you have no straightforward answers, you end up leaving them more confused; and then resorting to misreading other people's post is not helping your arguments at all.

No worries - we could do better by studying God's WORD more and not holding on to ideas gathered from preachers who have no answers to serious questions being asked. This is why any objective reader would see that not many preachers who hold the views you espouse have been able to provide real answers to identify what exactly happened in Job's case.

Ask people who know me on this thread they know my position.

A man may say his a man of God but if I listened to his preaching, I know what to call him.

there some that call themselves men of God but are Outright demon possessed men spreading false hood in the face of the earth and only God can save them from their sins.

How have I "Judged"

Another error.

For me to Judge I must Sentence.

I have not sentenced I have said that there is false teaching enveloped in his Sermon.

If I even go ahead to sentence It must what the bible dictates and that must be done in love.

The lady that was Judged and was set free by Jesus was Sentenced the person she committed the sin with was no where to be found.

We must test all spirits.

@Pilgrim

Your points are just not to be thought about because I asked you how many times paul fell sick, its paul this time and not timothy and Epaphroditus, Even them you never said how many times they fell sick, yet you posted a verse claiming plural and singular tence matters not,and that happens to be the only prove you have.

But I understand sha,it s all about what we believe. I have chose what to believe, and so have you.

Let us just live according to the revelation we chose to believe. What I know is that the LIFE we live today is shaped according to what we believe.

Stay blessed.

Well, for me I have great respect for preachers of the Gospel; but I don't necessarily agree with everything they teach - especially when they make assertions that are unfounded in God's WORD. This is why I'm humbled by the teaching we had last week in Bible Study: in summary - we should love people deeply enough to point them to the truth, even if it means that we suffer to our disadvantage in doing so.

Infourmer may have his convictions; and I greatly admire that. But two things we're seeking here are:

  (a) for him to defend his ideas from God's WORD - especially as regards his assertions of Paul, Timothy,

Epaphroditus. . . and Job. Unfortunately, he has not been able to do so - and yet, we should love and

respect his convictions all the same.

  (b) that some of us are enjoying divine health should not make us become so proud to assume untrue

things about other mature believers. Where I try to do so, then I bring myself under the conviction

of a pride that God hates.

I just hope he could have the grace to see these points - but if he doesn't, all's well. The glory to God alone.

Cheers.

why should you judge another prophet, are you God?

That is one thing that points that you know not what you say,its clear that what you know is not what I believe. I believe in eternal life, but you believe in sickness.

I perceive you are from the fold of the CHRIST EMBASSY. I may be wrong.

I just listened to his message in Ghana before i came online. he envelopes false doctrine in his preaching. Pilgrim you can imagine what one False sermon can do to one man. me and you have been explaining to Infourmer since. The entry point was his preacher.
