How Powerful Is The Devil?

Sometimes I laugh to myself when people say things like: Whenever the devil hears my voice, he starts to run. The devil cannot come close to me and crazy stuff like that. The Bible has it that after the Child was born, the dragon used his tail to shatter one-third of the stars(which must be somewhere very far from our galaxy). I know how big a star is. Our saviour is that God has probably put leash rules on the devil. If one can destroy millions of stars with just a tail, what will the whole earth be to it? But that's not the point. We are wonderful creations valued by both God and the devil. Though the devil is no match for God. He is probably playing a fair game allowing him to excercise his power on us. In the end of course He wins. And Satan and all his followers will be doomed. Bur believe me, if God ever turns His love away from any person on earth. That person is doomed forever. Satan will tear you to pieces and make you one of his generals.

The devil has no power the only power he has is the one you gave him

1) He is not Omnipresent - that means he's cannot be everywhere at the same time, he can only be in a particular place, that keeps him very limited

2) He is not Omnipotent - that means he cannot do whatever he wants to do, he is also under authority and must subject himself to the laws of God like all other spirits

3) He is not Omniscient - that means he doesn't know everything, he cannot read your mind and must rely on information gathered by his agents to make decisions.

That make Satan or the Devil as he is popularly called very limited in other words powerless!

How can you have evidence of how your mind constructs matter?

How can you have evidence of how your mind creates gods?

The only evidence is the truth inside you.

Look inside yourself and you will find the truth

For the evidence does not lie on this realm

And those who find it in this realm know it.

And they will tell you

But you cannot believe

because you do not want to accept the truth

The devil exists and you cannot stop him from existing

You are so minute and small in his site

And if God gave him reign, you will experience what his powers is like

But for now, you wallow in your ignorance,

convinced that you are right

Yes you are right

because the person who looks from a blue spectacle sees a blue world

Only when you drop your spectacle, then you can see

Good Luck!

I just don't understand this satan/devil myth any more? It used to make sense to me when I was in the bubble of delusion though . . . . . How many satans are there? Is it the same satan in Nigeria that is functioning in China or Mongolia? Can this mythical satan be every where?. . . .What evidence is there to show for this mythical construct?. . . . Human's will NEVER want to accept their responsibilities, people will prefer to blame their inadequacies on anything, even imaginary and mythical constructs. . . Satan my assssssssssssssssss. . . . .

the devil is a metaphorical expression of human wickedness, the effect of evil is as terrifying as a distorted beast. @skydancer, since you believe in the devil, have you evidence for it?

for me man has been the greatest devil i have ever encountered in this life.

try getting close to a man who does not have love in his heart and you will know what devil or evil is all about.

Man walk alone with your confusion, I think you should create another thread for your opinions/beliefs, coz in this thread, 'the devil exists' and the question is how powerful he is,

Satan or the Devil is a myth. We are each responsible for anything bad we do, unless there are circumstances beyond our control such as mental illness.

Satan was originally portrayed as under the orders of God, and testing mankind under God's direction (Book of Job). And this seems to have been his function when he tempted Jesus in the desert, but perhaps starting to be presented as an enemy. The figure became demonised by early Christians in the latter part of the first century.

Christians have for some reason identified Lucifer (Latin: Light Bearer) with Satan. Lucifer was applied to Venus as it appeared as the Morning Star. But Christians seem to see the fall of Satan in Isaiah 14:12, "How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star (Lucifer), son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low!" But if you read Isaiah 14:3 onwards, you'll see that the passage is a taunt against the King of Babylon.

And Ezekiel 28 is about the Prince of Tyre, not the devil or any other angel or demon.

The writer of Revelation’s identification of the Dragon with Satan and the Serpent from Eden seems contrived. The word Devil comes from Greek Diabolos and means Accuser/Advocate, as does Satan; so it's probably just a translation of Satan into Greek. They were originally different myths:

Genesis 3:1: "Now the serpent was more subtile than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made."

Job 1:6: "Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them."

The myth of the adversary/accuser probably became fearful over time; only Christians believe in a Devil, and even then only since the end of the Dark Ages.

What is your question?

"the devil made me do it" has to be one of the most annoying phrases ever.

if you are rewared with heaven or punished with hell depending on your actions then your eternity is determind by free will. if you have free will the devil cant "make" you do anything. if the devil could "make" someone do something then there is no free will and if there is no free will you can t be punished for what you cant control nor can you be rewarded. so which is it?

Yeah I can see that.

However let me pass a warning. Whether you are joking or not, it's entering your subconscious. The sly devil is trying to make it appear as if there's nothing like the super natural. Scientists are busy making theories and the number of physical demonic attacks have significantly reduced. What was considered some years ago as abomination has come to stay as the 'new thing' in today's world. However the Bible says 'Do not model yourself to the contemporary world'. Sexual Immorality (Babylon in revealations) is coming so fast. We should try our best to stand in faith. Peace to y'all!

If God is all powerful and all good then there would be no evil in the world.

But there is evil in the world.

Therefore God is not all powerful or all good.

The Devil is nothing but a doomed creature. He only derives his powers from one of man's greatest problem: SIN. Only a pure heart can defeat him.

What exactly is this nonsense above? Who and what exactly is satan or the devil? Christians like talking about their god being invisible because he wants people to believe in him out of their free will. . . lets assume this is true then what about the devil? why is he invisible? is it because people are to believe in him out of their free will too?. . . Instead of man blaming himself for his failures and short comings the average human being will never do that, he will instead prefer to blame others up to the extent of creating imaginating beings like the devil, demons, witches etc and making them responsible for his incompetence, foolishness and stupidity. . . . . . what exactly is the devil and where does he reside. . . let me know if you have the answer so that I can pay him a visit. . . . .
