How Would You Describe Jesus?

How would you describe the man Jesus?

Some said he is the Lamb of God, and some said he is the Man in Battle, others said he is the Author and the Finisher of our Faith. Some others said he is the beginning and the end. While some said he is Father of all Creation, the One that died on cross and share his blood for you and me so that we all can be saved.

So tell me, how else would one describe him?

jesus is the greatest man that has ever lived,

He died and He rose again.

He was,He is and He is to come

d best way to describe jesus is to experince Him and to have Him as the lord and personal saviour.

ALL TIME. These books you listed may have been the rave in 2005, but who'ld buy them next year? People have been buying the bible for hundreds of years and they still haven't stopped. How many copies of Thomas Harris' Silence of the Lambs were sold last year? it was on the best sellers list a few years ago, remember? People risk their lives to smuggle the bible into some countries. I'm sure you would risk your life to smuggle the latest Harry Potter book into some country. Bible, book of fairy tales? you bet.

A book of 'fairy stories' that is the bestseller of all bestsellers.

By the way, "Reverend", why go by the name that is associated with Christianity if you have doubts on the veracity of the Holy Bible?

Language, Mr. Reverend, language. you seem to be getting frustated. you know, getting yourself a job is a more better and viable option than Kinky Cult. Observing from ur posts to me, you stated that you incorporated Biblical verses in your cult to meet the needs of people. Isn't that just as pathetic as an asskisser? Let's take a cue from that statement and others. From ur usual rantings, you believe the Bible to be a book of fairytales, and a lie, right? Now if u incorporate this same Bible into ur Kinky Cult, aren't u contradicting yourself? To satisfy the needs of people? so in other words, you compromise your doctrine to win a few cheap Brownie points with people.

dude, by all ramifications, your asskissing credibility just went up a high notch.

The only reason to incorporate bible verses in some of our teachings were to meet the needs of the people who had been brainwashed by Bible bashing biggots like yourself and Mr. Patakill!

As I have said many times, the Bible is a book of fairy stories!

@ Rev,

lol, Reverend. You are too much of a joke to even take serious. If you think religion's what u think it is, then what can we say about your Kinky Church? If i can recall, back then u tried incorporating Biblical verses into ur warped and false doctrine and then distorting and twisting these doctrines to your own liking. And when bari_kade revealed/tore your yansh open, and Christians didn't buy into your false, warped cult, you have since then adopted this anti-religion/Christian view/slogan.

. . . . . .and i thought it was only 6yr old schoolboys that sulked that much when the i-won't- play-with-you-because-you-don't-want-to-play-with-me technique of manipulation doesn't work.

You really are pathetic, Reverend. Like i once told, Get yourself a Life. And a Job.

u that is supposed to be laughed at, laughing at another person.

nothing cncerns you if i wear 2 quarters or one quarter, the question is still, GIVE ME THE MEANING OF THOSE VERSES QUOTED ABOVE, U CLAIMED HE WAS A PRINCE OF PRINCE BUT HE ORDERED KILLING OF THOSE THAT DIDNT OBEY HIM.

ALSO THE QUESION OR THE ISSUE IS NOT ABOUT MUHAMMED BUT ON THE VERSES QUOTED ABOVE.IF YOU WANT ANYTHING ON HIM, WE CAN ALWAYS CREATE ANOTHER THREAD

AM STILL WAITING FOR THE MEANING OF THOSE VERSES. SO JESUS COULD ORDER KILLING OF PEOPLE.

I will answer your question thus:

Jesus is coming back for his church that is without sin, meanwhile there is what we call the Kingdom of God which is what Jesus is coming for, in absentia at the moment, he discovers among his own, some who seems to be influenced by the things of this world, rather than by the things of God. Like the kingdom in the story,(where you brought out) our world is in a state of civil war, some people are loyal to God, our King in heaven, while others refuse to acknowledge his Lordship. One day the Lord Jesus will return to put an end to the civil war by destroying the enemies and recreating the earth. On which side will you be?

In essence the scripture you have just qouted for explanation by me is actually Jesus making us to know what the endtime(his coming back) is actually going to look like.

As much He is the Prince of peace, He is also a God of judgement, and when he comes back to earth, he is coming for Judgement, and to take his own kingdom home.

If you still want more clarifications i will kindly oblidge you.

My God and Saviour, the one who LIVED, LIVES and will be FOREVER! My longsuffering and merciful guide, the One who loves even when i'm wrong, the One who lifts when i fall, the One who speaks peace to calm the storms in my heart!

Yes it is that Jesus Christ, the One many have been blinded not to see, whose love they cannot share and whose death on the cross they cannot bear to behold!

That same Jesus! The One who was "born", ate, slept and played with His friends. Our own carpenter's son, who took the foolishness of this world and made it wise. The One who cannot be found by intellectual searching and scientific testing! The still small voice that knocks quietly at the door of every heart, seeking to come in and sup with whoever will open the door and let Him in!

The first and the last, the begining and the end, the rock of offense and the stone of stumbling to many. The same Lamb of God who is the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the One whose face i shall behold someday by His special grace!!!

I can see you are one disgruntled element that is always looking for baseless point to hang on to.

As to your question, i will only give you one example because i can understand that too many ofanswers actually distorts your reasoning the more.

Now when Judas betrayed Jesus, and soldiers came for him that night, remember Peter drew out his sword and sliced off the ear of one of the soldiers? Tell me what Jesus did?

Show me where in the bible, where Jesus ever drew out a sword to fight or rather he led a mutiny of disgruntled fellows like you to start a holy war or incite some others to do that, just as your SAW has taught you to do?

Sincerely i can see that you are totally bereft of any decorum of knowledge!!!!

did i see u posting it that jesus was a prince of peace. was that in the bible or assumptions. if in the bible, i need it please.

u said he is a prince of peace, can you please those below

SWORD AND FIRE IN NEW TESTAMENT (ALL THESE WERE SAID BY JESUS)

Luke

Luke 12v49: I came to cast fire upon the earth and would that it were already kindled. Do not think I came to make peace but rather DIVISION for from henceforth in one house there will be five divided, three against two, two against three. They will be divided, father against son, son against father, mother against daughter, daughter against mother.

Mathew

Mathew 10v34: do not think I have come to make peace on earth. I have not come to make peace but a SWORD. For I have come to set man against his father and a daughter against her mother.

Luke 19v27: for those enemies of mine who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and SLAY THEM HERE AND SLAY THEM THERE BEFORE ME .

OH NO!. ALL THESE SAID BY JESUS ALONE.

please mrpataki, i need your response ASAP ESPECIALLY LUKE 19V27 AND THE REST

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and he kept it to himself, and along came the prince of the morning, and he said to Eve (ever wondered why he told the woman?) "Don't mind that God! For you shall not surely die, but you shall become like us!" But whats that got to do with anything, you probably wondering.

There have been many Princes of Light, or shall I say, knowledge, or even Wisdom, and hence Christs, from the very beginning of time, but I shall go back as far as Plato's Cave, ever heard the allegory?. Well, there were these people who dwelled inside a cave and never knew there was a world outside the cave, but one of them managed to escape from the cave. Plato asked, if he came back into the cave, and told those who were inside the cave that there was a world outside, what would they do to him?

But lets take a trip through a garden, instead; make sure you look out for the Tree now! There was this Adam and Eve, children of God - not his first, for he apparently had previous children, one of whom behaved somewhat like the prodigal son, except that he never returned to his father, bad boy. Anyway, Adam lived with his first wife in the garden where they both worked for their master in return for their daily bread. One day, the prodigal son, who was not quite prodigious - an ex-angel he was (I think he had been fired or something), came back and told them they should eat the fruit of the God, the one he told them they mustn't eat, for if they did they shall surely die. And he said to Eve, specifically, "Ah, you shan't die! You'll just become like us!" And she ate, and she didn't die, and she gave Adam some to eat too, and he didn't die neither. Now I can't tell if they became like God or nothing, perhaps they never ate enough! - all I can say is they began wearing leaves, and had to plant their own food in their own garden from then on, and there was something about them suffering!

But lets fast forward a bit! For God so loved the world, that he sent his only begotten son, to feed some fruit to some human beings, those human beings who were back in the cave - if you get my drift. And he told those in the cave that they had been lied to, being made to believe the walls of the cave were the entire world; "and those who lied to you, know better", he said, "there is a better way out there, these lot just pile stuff on your head that they themselfs cannot carry!", he told them. But they said, " bulls locks! Inside this cave is the entire world!" And he insisted, and just as Plato said they would, they crucified him!

So who was this guy who's Christ was Jesus, you ask? I say some wise dude who was well learned, though some will tell you the dove done it! Ok, before any one gets a couple of two by fours and nails me to it - maybe its the truth, maybe the dove done it, at least I know it is the truth for some, but as me and he are related, being that we share the same father, unless you want to say I do not know my very own father - but I shall leave that to you, shall I - point is, our father had many children!

Many would say that God had only one son, yet even that so called one son said we are all his children, so I myself cannot understand where people get that nonsense from - though I can understand if you believe you aren't worthy! All I can say is God has about about 6 billion children, last time I heard anyone counted! But you can subtract one, yourself, if you reckon I'm lying, Child of God! Jesus the Christ is the one we know this side of the world, but still, he was one of very many!

Many of these children have had the Christ inside them ever since, and before him - remember Moses? he was one; and Joseph the dreamer was too, and so was that David who couldn't keep his fly done up, and that Solomon who had everything added unto him; indeed there have indeed been many who have brought the light for humans so they can see the walls of the cave they live in and free themselfs, and there have been others who have stayed inside the cave, not allowing the Christ in them to awaken! But I would understand if you say I lie, for I am told its like my father's farm - its the biggest farm in the entire world if you haven't worked on any others, if you have, you'd know for sure there are bigger farms out there!

@Babyosisi: I just want to know if the book of revelationwas after Jesus of the Bible had completed his missionon the earth, or if it was before? Who was the revelation given to, I mean the author among the contributor of the Bible. For example Genesis was given to Moses, Psalm was given to David, etc. We also see that Mark, Luke, etc are the suppose storyteller of what was given to Jesus. They did not let him tell his own story. Not in its totality, so one is tempted to ask what portion is clearly from Jesus and what are clearly not and which part is open to maybe or maybe not. I ask the question,if Jesus had completed his mission, then truly there is no need to have any further continuance from later people, eg Saul/Paul!

Is this like the Mission accomplished banner that was glaring behind Prsident, yet after many years, unfortunately, we have people being killed, still. Is this issue of of Jesus in the light of this injection of Saul/Paul on the stage a presumptious understanding. Or is it that Saul/Paul is the culprit here. I have my opinion. Jesus completed his mission; Making sure that he preached the religion of Moses and allthe other Prophets before him and never negated the core message of the book of Moses on one hand and heralding the coming of a future prophet, who (whom) he called the Comforter after him. A spirit showing and leading to all things, praising Jesus and say all that he hears. Please watch out for a future threat about the Comforter.

How are you anyway? Have a great week ahead. So you need to go to Church to get recharged? The connection should be 24/7.

If we are going to use this a a description of Jesus, I would have to conclude that Jesus has been absent for a very very long time and Jesus is some type of fantasy and fictional character in our child like minds.

Why is there always this fixation on the greatest man who ever lived? There were many great men who layed down their life for human kind. What about the greatest woman who ever lived?

I don't see how women can over look that God did not have women in mind as something great as well. This is why the planet is so out of balance, no one cares about the feminine aspect. We let man dictate everything while man continues to ignore that God made a woman also and man came out of the womans womb. His belly button clearly gives testimony to the fact that he came from the woman.

One of the greatest men that ever lived.

Unique in the sense that he left a lasting impression brought about by his message of peace and tolerance.

From another angle he was a great political figure.

He came at a time his people needed independence from oppressive Roman rule and elimination of corruption among the tribal leaders and priests.

He is different because instead of adopting guerilla warfare, he used dialogue.

It still cost him his life.

To answer you olabowole read these from the book of revelation and see who the scriptures talk about.

Rev 5:1   Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals.

Rev 5:2   And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?”

Rev 5:3   But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it.

Rev 5:4   I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside.

Rev 5:5   Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

Rev 5:6   Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits* of God sent out into all the earth.

Rev 5:7   He came and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne.

Rev 5:8   And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty‑four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

Rev 5:9   And they sang a new song:

“You are worthy to take the scroll

and to open its seals,

because you were slain,

and with your blood you purchased men for God

from every tribe and language and people and nation.

Rev 5:10   You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,

and they will reign on the earth.”

Rev 5:11   Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders.

Rev 5:12   In a loud voice they sang:

“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,

to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength

and honor and glory and praise!”

Rev 5:13   Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing:

“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb

be praise and honor and glory and power,

for ever and ever!”

Rev 5:14   The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.

Halleluia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Feelgood: Please do not misunderstand me. My entry is not to demean Jesus, or even given an impression of competion with him and any prothet of God.

In the Qur;an, in the chapter known as confederates, Allah says that we should give greetings and wishing good on Muhammad if believers know what is good for them. In this case, when you say aleysalaam at the mentioning of Muhammad, you receive reward. Muhammad said that the Lord of the world will let his soul reunite with his body so that he can return the greeting and the angel will pray for you at the same time. Can you imagine whats happening to Muhammad (AS) 24/7 by this action of believers all over the world? Myhammad and even his followers and other prophets are called Seidina, meaning master! Muhammad is also called teacher. Every word, action and all that he permitted was recorede and no one had changed it, nor paraphrased it deleted any. Infact, Muhammad (AS) said who ever attach any statement or action to him which is false, should take his/her place in Hell. Muhammad (AS) healed many people and show a means that believers continue to heal themselves. The whole Qur'an from Suratul baqarah is an answer of the prayer in Suratul fathiha. Muhammad and his followers, while alive and even after death, won many battles even without raising any hand, without any bloodshed. A case in point, their entry to Egypt, helping the coptic against the vatican, was just by the muslims using their chewing stick. The Lord of the world comfounded this people that they saw the muslims as if they were sharpening their teeth to devour them. Many Kingdom and Empire fell just by the muslims saying that they want justice. Even Rome crumbled at the thought of going against the muslims, during the khalifate of Umar. Muhammad won and lost battles, so did his followers. Today's condition of the muslims is a good example. In the face of oppression, most muslims will not flinch. Islam of Muhammad is still entering the hearts of people. American white and others are yearning for Islam. You said that Jesus was crucified. This is coming from you. Muhammad was hated by the enemies of Islam, yet he did nor did his true followers compromise their belief. A Jewish woman gave him poisoned meat. Yet the meat told him that it was poisoned. Muhammad is buried and his grave is protected and he is the most beloved to mankind, people praying and praising him 24/7. Never tired of wishing him well. Muhammad lives today as he lived while on the surface of the earth. Muhammad (AS) told us to emulate all the prophets (AS), Jesus included among them. I sometimes dress up like Jesus myself. Wearing Jilbab, with my shawl wrapped around my head . I do also dress up like Moses as well. Today, People dream of Muhammad. I have dreamt of him and the dream is very vivid to me on mount Arafat, performing Hajj in his company (AS)! Inshort, you spoke about the quality of the Prophets (AS), except your hypothesis of his dying, and raising, which I disagree with you on. See.

I am not trying to be disrespective to Jesus or any of God's prophets. However, some one said that jesus died to save the world, yet others said that he is the creator, etc, etc. My question is this; If he is the one that created and the only one that can save, why did he have to allow himself to die so that he can save? Who is he going to save people from, himself? Is there a God different and separate from Jesus? If there is this Powerful God, who is complete in every respect, then, this God would not need jesus to died and be slaughtered so mercilessly so that God then forgive mankind. God Who is complete and full of power to do all things would deal with everyone, on an individual basis under a certainly established guidelines of rules and laws of commandments, which has its core remaining unchanged throughout the history of mankind. This will allow essentially a core quality requirement for Justice and mercy given.
