I Have Never Fallen Under The Anointing- Why?

Its not like i have been looking forward to it, and is disappointed. The thing is, i have never fallen anywhere, be it in my church, a crusade, whereva.

Everyone around me falls except me. There was this incident in church where the man of God waved his hand over the area we were. Everyone, i mean EVERYONE around me (about 70-100) fell down muttering things, some crying, some outright sleeping. Me i was just left standing like a lone tree in the midst of fallen trees. I didnt know whether to fall, or run away. I was embarrased. Why am i different?

You are very right,

And to real christians and not just church goers let me tell you. When comes to the things of the spirit, you better be careful of common sense. Because, falling under the anointing is not something that comes from you it is a thing of the spirit

"1 corithians 2:14, But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned"

Although seeing others fall under the anointing doesnt mean you also have to. It is all about connection to God and His power. Once it touches you, it is irresistible. Although "1corithians 14:30 says the spirit of the prophet subjects to the prophet" But our natural body cannot just withstand the presence and the power of God, See people in the bible who tried to even look@ his face they still could not, they had to bow.

people have been known to fall ,cry like babies and even faint at ther mere sight of the late micheal jackson, elvis, beatles etc. it is no more than exploitation of a human neuropsychological phenomena. you can collapse or fall over donkey poo if you believe well enough in it. its all about the power of human beilef. scientist have proven that ill patients who were unknowingly given empty drug capsules have recovered dramatically at times even better than tose taking the real drugs. how do you think fake drugs thrive? yep! people have even consumed fake boozed and felt tipsy afterwards. there was even this incident where a skin doctor saw a boy with a nasty scar on his face and said to himself "hey i can cure this" and out of pity he even treated the boy for free. a week later the boys father came with the boy and askd the doctor "are you a man of god?" "no" the doctor said im a skin specialist and i just helped him cure a common skin affliction. the father then told him that its not a common affliction , it is a birthmark and uncurable. people with the same type of scar came from far and wide when they heard of this wonder healer. never again was the doctor able to cure the same scar because neither his nor the patients belief was absolute. the boy who was made fun of all his life for a scar which he seemed doomed to die with was so euphoric when for the first time someone said he could heal him and totally believed in desperation. such is the power of the human belief. even preachers tell u to believe when they pray for you. pagans and barbarians also have trances, convultions and blackouts under annoyingthings because of their belief for their engagements. i gess u cud say it sud count for something to your god since you had a certain degree of belief in the first place that tricked your mind to make u fall.(im not talking bout the preteding majority here). all kinda stuff can happen to u based on your mind. just like people who eat well loose weight drastically when botherd by an issue in their minds like say debt. yeah i know sounds like i got issues and i may not know wat im talkin bout (maybe im jus tired of damn hypocrites)i do know tho that its not some kinda supernatural force outside our bodies that causes it otherwise micheal jackson and a truck load of rockstars definately posess more divine power than any preacher i know.

Galatians 5:22-24 (New International Version)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.

1st Corinthain 14:32 (New International Version)

The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets. For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.

I dont fall under any anointing. There is no point. Standing while others are falling looks more to me like 'self-control' than falling for nothing. It probably doesn't do anything more than earning cheap glory for the 'anointed' 'man of God'. I dont see any scriptural justification for it.

maybe the people around you are just beign overly dramatic and you are a realist? have you stopped to think that maybe many people are falling because they know they are expected to?

Please explains what speaking in tongues means. Use the bible in your explanation and not what your pastor says or commonly held interpretations.

Is someone speaking in tongues coherent and understandable or just incomprehensible blabberings?

Because the guy would keep pushing your head until you fall. . . . Some like t.b joshua even resort to physical assault all in the name of deliverance!

God is not bothered if you fall during annointing service or not. The question is,

what is your relationship with God?

are you really born again?

you better give your life to christ before it's too late. simple!

I've been in similar situations where everybody was just falling and i didn't simply because nothing pushed me down.

That was years and years ago and  i just thought then that i was probably on a different channel.

Also went to a fellowship at Uni and as a newcomer to the fellowship, they prayed and prayed for us.

Then came the annointing (or head-pushing) which almost turned into a wrestling match because this man was trying to push me over.

I just don't get it or it doesn't happen to some of us.

abeg! how do you measure the presence of God.a daft individual here said sth like when the presence of God is heavy.so God's presence come in levels abi!?what is anointing and falling under the influence of the spirit?my friend let me tell you.i ve been to such crusades and so called miracle nights,i refused to allow they evil spirit they spread to pple affect me.why should you fall when your spirit is clean?i can agree to violent physical reaction when demons are cast from pple.who says that God's presence is only in Holy gatherings.if the spirit of GOD make you fall, shake, sleep or die.then they should happen to a christain regardless of where he/she is like office, driving, walking and even straffing!

we had this youth group when we were young in Nigeria.

One of the senior pastors came round to preach, talk and pray.

On one occassion also known as anointing/miracle service. this guy came round speaking in tongues and what not. Everyone he touched fell like a crumbling pack of card.

When he touched my head, i no fall.

Dude said he all wanted to say . . . . . . nothing happen.

He left me alone then went on to the others who fell under the anointing.

Dude came back to me afterwards but this time, he used both hands to grab my head and moved/pushed me around. . . . . .i still no gree fall.

Pastor started saying things like, you are resisting the power of God. . . . etc etc

for 5 good minutes pastor no gree allow me.  I finally gave in and choreographed my fall under the anointing.

Although i have never fallen under the anointing, i do believe that the power of God can genuinely overwhelm some people.

but something i've noticed is that it is only a set/group of people who always fall under the anointing. Why is this?

My 2 cents here.

Our so called annointings are mostly invocation of elementary spirits which came make spiritually unstable people to fall. Sometimes the fall is from physics. if you close your eyes and somebody delivers a sharp push at the temple, you can as well fall. You are lucky that you have a higher calling and spirit than your pastors. Thank God. When a preacher says Jesus, Jesus, or in the name of Jesus, is he calling Our Lord Jesus Christ? I doubt it. There are many Jesus but only one Our Lord Jesus Christ. The more you look the less you see. Remember: "many will say Lord I did this in your name, " These were all prophesised read 2nd Tim 4: 2 to 4.

The term " falling under anointing" did not start from the new style of Christianity ( Pentecostalism), we africans had been doing it for hundreds of years if not thousands, it is an inherent part of our African religious practices. You either work your self into a trance by dancing, repetitive chants or vigorous dances until you lose all sense of being. Also the state can be induced by hypnotism, where by you submit your will completely to that of the hypnotist. It could be a professional hypnotist or a pastor, imam, guru, etc.

Now if you do not give in to the effects, you will never fall under anointing, even if the pastor pushes your head forcefully.

I no not understand what Christians gain after the "Anointing" apart from giving their whole life and possessions to God (or is it his representatives). Because you will see the same people rolling on the floor and speaking tongues week in, week out, without any change in their life or their situations.

Also the term "being in the Presence of God" is very strange. It connotes that there are places on the earth or is it in the universe that God is sometimes absent from and therefore is oblivious of what goes on there.

I hereby ignore all further posts that will trash what I'm about to write here.

I'm answering your question from the point of view of a Christian, binhozie. When the Spirit of God moves and comes in contact with people's spirits, sometimes there is a violent reaction. That's because the people spirit are to a certain degree anti-Spirit-of-God. However, sometimes, the move is so strong that even people who ae right with God may fall. Different things happen.

I heard of a man who walked into a service when the presence of God was very heavy. Everyone was sitted very quietly, no one was saying or doing anything. And this man walked in. He went to the altar and said his sinner's prayer by himself.
