God is not a religion. Over the centuries the true image and nature of God has been replaced with lies and conformed to mans imagination. God is Spirit that feels the interspaces of the whole universe. He is not one ideal and does not belong to any mosque or Church. Jesus himself was not a christian and mohammed was not a muslim. Those are the groups that there followers formed after their death.

Which is why we thank God that he has given us the spirit to discern spirits and to tell one from the other.

In the world today everything is mixed up. Where you find wheat you will also find lots of chaff.

In just the same way the moslems would post from the Holy book and the buddists and so on. Fact is you will find that they are all saying the same thing with respect to certain things in all versions.

tarezulu,

The traces of truth doesnt make a religion true.

The devil can say 99 truth and use 1 lie to achieve his goal.

All religions were at one time willed by God in order to fit with the various peoples in the world. That is why there are traces of truth in all religions. The problem has always been man who used these teachings as a tool for control for their selfish reasons.

God is God and can never be ascribed to any one of these religions. That is why a buddist, a moslem, a christian, jew and even an atheist experience miracles daily as His creatures.

I think most religious experiences have a great deal of subjectivity about them. Not totally subjective but a great deal. This does not make them irrelevant or less valid. I believe that all experience is relevant and valid not just those experienced through the physical senses.

Many would disagree here. Some follow their christianity in the hope that they will get to heaven when they die. That is their goal.

Other's just follow it because it is the family tradition. And one should follow the faith of their fathers.

For me, I would agree with you that it is more about the life you live in the here and now.

I love nairaland- there's always something to make you laugh

This question is a reflection of the mindset of a lot of people.

I will tell you why God is neither a christian nor a a great one.

A christian is a 'partaker of the divine nature of God"- The son of God. God is not partaking in the nature; He's the source of the nature. So those that are called into this life are christians

The concept of religion is not enough to explain christianity. Christianity's main goal is not about trying to satisfy and worship a deity. It's about living the deity's kind of life, which was made possible through the ressurection of Jesus Christ. His ressurection gave us access to this divine nature.

well God isnt and can not be a mus-lim.

A man once told us that he went to hell about 10 years ago in nigeria, he shared his testimony in church with us, he was very very sincere about it, i know a mo'slem woman who said she once saw an angel and the angel spoke to her in dubai she was going through some difficulty in her marriage and was contemplating sucide when the angel appeared to her and told her to take things easy and continue to be god to her husband, she sounded so serious and sincere, she was'nt a good mo'slem before the event happened to her but now she spends all day and night reading the ko'ran. why is it that people always claim to have seen or felt god the world over and the god they see or meet always reflect their religious beliefs? there are a few exceptions though,  i know a mo'slem man back then from maiduguri who claimed that  jesus appeared to him and he became a christain afterwards(his father almost killed him but he escaped narrowly), i also have read about a christian pastor who said that the angel gabriel appeard to him and told him to convert to is'lam, I watched cat stevens(a former christain) on television some years ago telling some people why he converted to the is'lam he said  he was drowning in the sea while surfing and decided to pray to god to save him,  he said he told god he will serve him all his life and with all his strength if god will save him from drowing and let him live, suddenly an agel appeared to him and told him to convert to is'lam to which he agreed and was miraculously taken to the sea shore, all his friends that were with him thought he was dead because he was missing for a while and they all saw when the stormy sea waves swept him away. this can't all be true because all religions believe that their way is the only way to eternal salvation, why are christains, mo'slem, jews and buddihist all claiming to have seen god and the god that has revealed him self to them is the god that their various religion subscribes to in most cases. i can't say if the people are telling the truth or lying because i was'nt there but what all their testimonies imply is that there are many gods , there just can't be one god thats if any exist in my own opinion.

Hello everyone.

Jehovah;creator of all things.he is the begining and end and from the begining he knew the end.he is all things to all people;that is why you call him in your dialect and he answers.he is God,that is why should anyone no matter your religion cry out to him:believing, that is with no iota of doubt,he answers by fIRE AND HE COMES IN POWER TO THAT BEING'S RESCUE.

Let' be careful and treat all issues relating to God with great care and fear so as not to blaspheme Jah.it is eternal sin.

READ THE GOOD BOOK WELL AND MEDITATE:IN ORDER TO BELIEVE.

JEHOVAH IS REAL!

God ordains a religion. He commands people to follow that religion in order to worship Him. It will be a blamspheme to assume God is either a Christian or a Mus'lim because His is the religion that ought to be followed.

All'ah! There is no God save Him, the Alive, the Eternal. Neither slumber nor sleep overtaketh Him. Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that intercedeth with Him save by His leave? He knoweth that which is in front of them and that which is behind them, while they encompass nothing of His knowledge save what He will. His throne includeth the heavens and the earth, and He is never weary of preserving them. He is the Sublime, the Tremendous

And also I've met an atheist who has been pronounced clinically dead. When she came back she could remember nothing. She said that this was probably because she believed in nothing in the afterlife. This suggests that when one dies whatever it is that one believes has a heavy influence on the experience. Pretty much like dreaming. The experience has a certain amount of subjectivity to it.

Another implication is that experience does not stop when the neurology stops. The body stops functioning by experience continues so experience is not purely physical.

Of course it could also be possible that all these people are lying. Independently without conferring with each other all over the planet and at all times in history people have had after death experiences and one thing that they all have in common is that the experience closely reflects their beliefs. I've had family members who had similar things. An aunt died and said she saw my grandfather on the other side telling her to go back. She revived.

A cousin joked that it's really funny that all these people have these beatific experience but rarely does any one come back claiming to have been to hell. If there were more experiences like this surely it would be a good testimony to help people stay on the right track. The only people claiming to have seen hell are those pastors and religious leaders that need the concept of hell to keep their people in check. Most lay people that have the experience claim beatific feelings.

I saw on the TV the other day as i was flipping channels a mo'slem man from yemen, who said he was taken on his sick be to the world beyond where he meet the prohpet mo'hammed who showed him the gates of heaven and hell from a distance, he described in details what he saw and was weeping profusely as he was sharing his testimony, he said he saw the angels but he was'nt allowed to see all'ah because he has'nt been chosen to enter paradise because only those that are in paradise have the previlage of seeing all'ah. the guy also said that the doctors had already decleared him dead  and one of  the doctor came on air together with him and corroborated his story because there were two doctors in the room with him and they both decleared him dead, he said that he came back to life inside the car when his body was on its way home for burial(about 5 hours after he had been pronouced dead by the doctors), his brother also corroborated that story too, i have heard about christains too who have claimed to have been to heaven and meet jesus and the angles, if there really is a god then which is it? christain , moslem, jewish, hindu, buddhdist or what? since all the religions claim that their way is the only way to life while all other ways lead to hell. it wont be suprising if there are buddhist monks or jewish rabi's who are also making that claim of going to heaven and seeing  god  and the god they saw or meet is the same god that their religion subscribes to.
