What About 'holy Mary?'

I've severally discussed this issue with my catholic friends n their answer is dat if u intercede for Mary, then Jesus ll intercede for u b4 God. Do u think dis is Biblical? If u ask me i think Mary is just another woman on the surface of the earth, she was just fortunate to be d mother of our Saviour, so praying through her, to her or for her is very wrong. I don't want to step on anyone's toe here, just air ur view. That's all.

@lightwalk. The legalized gay marriage in your church has really made you a lunatic. A church that supported homosexuality and you still have mouth to talk.

Catholics dnt intercede for the dead but pray to them as an act of worship, its even better if you intercede for the dead than to pray to them like youre praying to GOD

The only way Mary will not be the mother of God will be that her son Jesus is not God.I might not argue much with muslims and JWs ,but hypocrites like pentecostals and other christians who beleive in the trinity yet repudiate the fact that Mary is the mother of God.

The scriptures made it abundantly clear that mary is the mother God,Elizabeth under the influence of the holy spirit exclaimed. How is it that I am visited by[b] the mother of my Lord.

The angel in a dream told Joseph take the child and his mother and flee to egypt.

The only way Mary will not be the mother of God is if my lord exclaimed by elizabeth is not God

I ve really noticed that protestant christians have a very little regard for the Virgin Mary especially the pentecostals, why it is not compulsory to honour Mary, you are not expected to insult her.If your father had married another woman ,a differant person other than you will have resulted from the fertilization of his sperm and the woman's ovum. Before the birth of mary God already prepared her for the birth of Jesus ,SHE WAS CONCEIVED IMMACULATELY.,A PURE VIRGIN SPECIALLY PREPARED FOR THAT PURPOSE.I don't mean to insult ur mother but I doubt if she was a virgin at marriage ,let alone being holy.

I found it hard to comprehend the distate for mary by non-catholic christians, the pentecostals in fact actually honour their pastors and regard them higher than mary.

the amount of honour ,adulation ,praises showered on their pastors by pentecostal christians are not regarded as idolatary but honnour on Mary by catholics is considerd idolatary.

nice bible quotations but reserve them for God who asked moses to make graven images of the winged creatures and the bronze serpent.

no need replying a mad man especially one hooked on ganja

There is no disputation about this, ROMAN CATHOLIC CULT (RCC) is an anti Christ movement they turn the word of God upside down to disapprove the sonship and the Grace God has given to mankind through the Lord Jesus Christ in style and many followers believe this pagan doctrine.

The RCC is already hosting the anti Christ. === Any one that does not confess that Jesus Christ is the Truth and the only way without any substitute of any kind whether Mary or saint Paul is an anti Christ.

I CAN SAY THIS TO THE POPE HIMSELF FACE TO FACE.

Like it or not praying through any means apart from through the name JESUS CHRIST is purely idolatory!

The Bible made it clear when Jesus said "whatsoever you asked in my name, " and also that they is only one mediator between us and GOD which even the pegan knows the answer is Jesus Christ.

Remember the Catholics' use of images, cross, pictures, saints(dead humans), contravane the law that"thou shallt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is the water beneath the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them for IAM, " Deut:8,9.KJV

So brothers and sisters come out of idolatory no matter how glamorous this worship pattern may seemed for God Highly detest idolatory!!!!!!!!!

@ABUZOLA u're very correct, for mary to have given birth to our lord jesus she must be holy.Alot of explanations have been made on this issue and even when u make this explanation over and over again some people just take delight in castigating others as if they dont have their own sins, or have u all forgotten that when u point one finger at someone the rest will be pointing at u!!!

@oye, for a suppose God to enter into mary's womb and be given birth to, shows how holy that woman is.

Don't u get what am trying to say, if Mary was that important, the bible would have stressed dat, there is no detail that is not included in d word of God. The bible says we should pray how? Even when Jesus was teaching us how to pray He never mentioned His earthly mother, life is more dan physical, don't u get my point? Am not trying to condemn anybody or denomination here, but if u could give a tangible explanation, i think its better rather repeating the same old chorus of Mary been the mother of God. Thats so absurd.

@muffin, i've never seen a greater lie than this ever in my life. How can u take such, that Mary is d mother of God, though she gave birth to Jesus who is a part of the Trinity, but u've got to realise that dat was Christ in human form, infact, does it makes sense to hear dat somebody is d mother of God. If we try to analyse such words, it means the world has long been in existence b4 God n what did d bible say about such John 1:1. I think its high time we started to search d scriptures all by ourselves. Mary i insist is just another woman like my mother.

To all of u who believe this post is a lie, hear this n give me an answer. What on earth is Mary's statue doing in every catholic church? what on earth is dis incantation relating holy mary in ur prayers? Does the bible refer Mary as holy? When d angel saw her n even when Elizabeth had a feeling through d son in her womb, all she was called was favoured woman. Come to think of it, when mary n some other people came to see Jesus, what did He say. He never even regarded Mary as a holy woman as such, so where does this comes from?

Charles68, God bless you for that incisive reponse!

To add to that, I want to remind everyone, that there's not a single instruction from any of the prophets, apostles, or the Lord Jesus himself about honouring (worshipping, in fact) his earthly mother! Even better, there's no example of believers regarding her as such. Not even a hint in that direction. It was something made up much later, after the original apostles had left the scene. I learned it was dogmatized at the first council of Ephesus and has been reaffirmed and revised by different popes over time.

What says the HOLY BIBLE?

The bible never refered to mary as "holy mary" but a Virgin. She was just like any other virgin in Isreal. The Bible never recorded that she had any outstanding quality that granted her the right to be the mother of our Lord. It was an act of grace and as predicted that the Saviour must be of the seed of David.

How can we pray to Mary when she prayed like other xtians in the upper room.ACT 2. Niether the Apostles nor the early church as written in the Bible prayed to Mary. Neither did Christ himself give such instruction.

Christ commands us to pra in His name. No more no less.

This is another gospel Gal 1:5-9.

THIS IS A TEACHING STRAIGHT FROM THE PIT OF HELL,IT IS NOT A TEACHING OF THE RCC NOR HAS IT EVER BEING TAUGHT BY THE RCC,WHEN CATHOLICS VENERATE MARY AND THE OTHER SAINTS THEY SIMPLY ASK THEM TO PRAY 4 THEM, SAME WAY YOU PROTESTANTS ASK YOUR PASTOR TO PRAY 4 U.

HOW ON EARTH CAN U INTERCEDE FOR MARY ?,THIS IS THE MOST RIDICULOUS POST I VE SEEN FROM A PROTESTANT

How can you respect your mother and not respect the mother of your saviour. We all know Jesus is God and his mother is Mary. Why wont you just think like normal being and know how important she is to us for bringing the messiah to earth. At the wedding feast they listen to her cos they know how close she is to her son. She told them to do whatever Jesus told them and cos they obey her their faith made the water turn to wine. She was conceive without sin, through her Jesus came to the world without a stain of sin.
