Eid El Kabir Greetings

Eid El Kabir is a great holiday for all the Muslims. As we have already found out in one of the articles, the holiday is considered to be one of the most important festivities in Islam. They celebrate it every year for several days paying visits to their friends and relatives, sending Eid El Kabir wishes and messages to the ones they love.

Before we present you the most popular Eid El Kabir text messages and greetings, here is what you need to know about the holiday. This holiday is believed to be a reminder of the story when God saved the life of Ibrahim’s son. Ibrahim was told by God that he should go into the mountains and give his son as a pleasing sacrifice to God. Ibrahim, or as Jews and Christians call him Abraham, took his son and went to the place God told him about.

As they reached the destination point and Ibrahim was about to sacrifice his son, God spoke to him and told him not to do this. God said that He appreciated Ibrahim’s desire to obey the Lord even if He asked him to give up the most valuable thing in his life. That is why God showed Ibrahim a ram in the bushes which he took and made a sacrifice of. That is why on this day Muslims slaughter sheep, cows as well as other animals they call halal (or acceptable). The meat of the animal is cooked and shared with their relatives, friends, and people in need. It is a magnificent time when everyone practices being charitable and generous.

There is another story behind Eid El Kabir which is connected to the name of Hagar and Ishmael, her son. As they were abandoned in the desert in Arabia, she prayed, and God provided them with a spring of water in the middles of a dry and hot land. They made a well out of it, and soon Ibrahim constructed a place of worship by it as a reminder of God’s mercy. Later there Ismael was given the gift of prophecy, according to the Islamic teachings.

As you can see, this day is a significant holiday for Muslims. And here is how you can wish them well and send your greetings on Eid El Kabir.
