What Does The Bible Say About The Prosperity Gospel?

In Word Faith religion, the believer is told to use God, whereas the truth of biblical Christianity is just the opposite, God uses the believer. Word Faith or prosperity theology sees the Holy Spirit as a power to put to use for whatever the believer wills. The Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit is a Person who enables the believer to do God's will. The movement closely resembles some of the destructive greed sects that infiltrated the early church. Paul and the other apostles were not accommodating to or conciliatory with the false teachers who propagated such heresy. They identified them as dangerous false teachers and urged Christians to avoid them, wats ur opinion about those teachers

The prosperity "gospel" is not the gospel of Christ; the prosperity "gospel" is a sad and shameful perversion of the true gospel. Unfortunately, it is very appealing and thus many people fall for it; meanwhile the motive of many of its chief exponents is to fleece the flock or to promote themselves.

@topic,

What we are told to beware of is the LOVE of Money and not Money itself. We are informed to be content with whatsoever we have and not be greedy. Being rich or poor does not equate to contentment!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with riches. Is it not the same Paul who told us that it is God who gives us ALL good things to enjoy? 1 Timothy 6:17 - Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; And the first part of that verse indicates that God has not problem with rich Christinas. His problem is highmindedness and a trust in riches. If you can handle riches without all these vices, you will be a more influential Christian than you will be without money.

  They are false prophets and agents of the devil. The gospel is about repentance and believing in the Christ, and not about ANYTHING ELSE. They are preaching a gospel that is not THE GOSPEL:

1Cor11:4 For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted , 13.For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

1 Timothy 6:10-11

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after,

they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many

sorrows.

But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness,

godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
