Who Should Be Blamed For Our Misfortunes, God Or Devil?

People often blame God for thier misfortune, do you think this is wise? rather than blame it on the devil who is the author of everything evil.

Who would you blame for your misfortune?

Unless of course you're changing the definition of psychology which is the study of the mind, or the study of behaviour. Sin is quite a different kettle of fish, at least from a biblical perspective. Psychology as a medical science attempts to explain why people do the things they do be it good or bad. I am not sure I can bring myself to accepting some of the reasons put forward by some of these specialist.

The bottom line is this; you cannot explain away sin with excuses in the form of scientific opinion about people's behaviour. That is why people are having problems making a distinction between what is wrong and what is right. Everything seems to fall under what seems right to the individual. As long as its ok with you then you're free to do it.

That would depend on how you were brought up to understand the notion of sin. When we use the term sin we use it in a braod sense to mean, anything that counteracts God's creation in all its forms. When God made this part of the universe He made laws to govern it. These laws are natural as we have come to see them act out in nature.

Now sin is seen as a counter force that entered our world because of disobedience to God laws. ( 1 John 3:4 says its lawlessness)Its like a law unto itself that is in motion breaking down the world and its natural laws bit by bit. Thats why we have been having earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, psunamis, floods, hurricanes, etc. It would also encompass the affect its been having in the lives of men, and animals. We see the results of selfishness, pride, murder, etc. in the way humans behave, and we also see the change in behavioural patterns among animals that pose a constant threat to human lives. So its a wide cross section of life that has been by the consequences of sin.

The natural question is why isn't God doing anything to stop it? He has no choice but to allow it to run its course. This is the hard lesson we must learn as humans, until the change or restoration comes. As humans our only hope is to accept God's gift in the form of His Only-Begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

The science of psychology can explain "sin" quite well. You should read more about it!

Can you explain how sin causes volcanic eruption, earthquakes and Tsunamis? What about those who are bitten by snakes or attacked by wild animals? Can you explain how sin causes malaria and sickle cell anemia?

The one thing that science cannot explain is sin. This is what is causing all the misfortunes presently plauging the world. The drama of the great controversy between good and evil is playing out itself right on planet earth. This world is the only isolated one having to contend with sin. Literally its a dark world.

All the evils and misfortunes we see around us on a daily basis is a constant reminder that evil is present, and that it had to have started somewhere and somehow.

Man has to live with the consequences of disobedience, and that will not change until the Creator of the universe steps in to finally put a stop to evil. Until then we will be faced with increasing misfortunes and evil, but christians knowing all of this are in a better position to deal with it.

The truth is mankind with all his fancy knowledge is clueless as to how to solve mankind's crises. Just take a look at the news and you'll see that. And the bible is on target where that is concerned. It predicted that the world will get worse, and science says its getting better. Scientific knowledge is good; don't get me wrong, but when its in the hands of secular people, who frown at the thought of God, it amounts to very little. Can you imagine if every scientist had a knowledge of God what this world might have become?

Until mankind returns to is Creator he is doomed.

You say "paralyzing delusion", others say liberating reality; you say fallacy, others say truth; you say farce, others say you're deluded. Perceptions.

His entire family died in a plane crash - oops damn subconscious, his children, possessions are all destroyed in a fell swoop, and now he's covered in boils - must be that damn subconscious again.

Something about my king holding some tribe of Israel captive, and so my first and only son is dead, there's no water, cattle is dead etc - must be my accursed subconscious up to no good.

Born with a life threatening potentially uncurable disease which oter siblings have died from, but a lung transplant can help prolong life. Unfortunately parents aren't rich, and medicaid won't pay up "because you're going to die anyway", dead at 21 leaving a fiancee, family, a host of friends and acquaintances grieving - I'm sure it was that rotting, no good subconsious.

Many scientists, including biochemists, are theistic. Most only speak of an "intelligent designer" in a philosopical or theological sense. Let's not speak of the minority though (the IDists et al).

Most who accept evolution are theists, yes they believe in God(s), and they accept evolution too - and yes many are in fact Christians too.

I'm guessing you mean A. Flew. He doesn't believe in the concept of intelligent design, but yes, he is now a deist.

I guess the minds of some beings have been intoxicated with a paralyzed delusion that the existence of God and other spirits is a falacy but i tell you, that is a farcical.

Secondly, blame no one but yourselves for your misfortunes for no man can be negatively influenced without the consent of his subconscious.

Neither God or the devil are to blame because they don't exist. Some people are just unlucky.

Hey guys pls lets stay on track. I really wouldn't want to author an issue as sensitive as this, the direction u guys are swerving in is very unpalatable, though i have my reservations but it will remain so for the purpose of neutrality.

It's a freeworld, I suppose you all agree with me?

So pls? Strictly on track.

Hey guys, don't tear your clothes. It's a free world, even God Himself allows for Freewill. Just because one does not believe in God does not change the truth. God in His infinite wisdom allows all happenings to be.

can we go back to the topic at hand please?

God is never to be blamed for our misfortunes. I m more likely to think that its our choices in life that tend to bring bad consequences in our lives.

Sin is responsible for all misfortunes. Its the curse that this earth must bear and contend with until God finally puts an end to it.

@ donmayor

Still a lot of hearsay, low on facts.

Intelligent Design creationism (both specified complexity and irreducible complexity) has been thoroughly refuted. There is not even one of their arguments that can withstand critical scrutiny. By the way, Intelligent Design doesn't really deal with DNA directly.

I am not a biochemist but as far as I have read and know, it is common now to hear molecular geneticist talk about an Intelligent Design based on findings from the DNA. They might not want to call it God but those who have believed in God and not wavered in the face of evolution know that it's God they are tryin to refer to as Intelligent design. If you want proof, you can go to google. I just wish I could remember the name of that atheist who recently said he believed in the concept of Intelligent Design due to Conclusions reached on DNA

Blame no one. Look inwards and give glory to God for everything. the blame game won't take away the misfortune.
