Romans 8: 35-39

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or unclothedness or danger or sword? As it is written:

   "For your sake we face death all day long;

we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Neither money nor lack of it can seperate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord

I think we should model our lives after this pattern:

Phillipians 4: 11- 13

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

First, I'm not here to argue so I dont have any argument here.

Second, i dont have to add anything to what I wrote there. If you have specific questions with regards to what I wrote, you should ask them.

Thank you

Pallie, all i am saying is that, it is a bad mentality for a christian to be poor and dont talk to God about it.

Annoiting without money is annoyance

Richies isn't about CASH alone.

People are poor for diff reasons. There's no need associating it with religion.

But will there be a market in heaven where we can go and spend this gold. And with all that gold lying around is there not likely to be a threat of Runaway Inflation.

I have never been one to say that it's worng to be rich. However i dont subscribe to the substitution of materialism for christianity. Christ did not call me into materialism but into freedom through Spirit. I dont care about what anybody has but I dont like anyone telling people that if they are believers, they cannot have needs.

Laziness is a different matter; the bible is clear on that.

Jesus' mission on heart is so different, he was a saviour and dont belong here, except u telling me you wanna save too.

that is great to know you so much blv in Him, however, have u read the part of the bible, where God says, He will bless the work of your hands, so it is not magic, u need to have something doing, working, buz and he will bless it, He said, a lazy man will wear rags.

The fact that Jesus did not have an abundance of money locked up somewhere should be instructive. God will always provide for our needs without our greed.

Heaven is golden. . .heaven was created by God to be that way and we seek to go to heaven. Do we want to take over the power of creation from God by trying to create heaven on earth? or do we want to make the world our own heaven?

This world is not my heaven. Thank God Almighty I can look forward to heaven without thinking that I'm already in heaven in the midst of this corrupt world

I agree with you, that it is not just about material, but with so much other stuff added to it, the dsciple said, Silver and Gold i have not, cos they dont have it, but even Jesus made a fish to give money, heaven we have been told is street of gold, so God will never want us to be poor, the bible said, the wealth of the unbleivers will be given to the faithful ones, so what are you talking about.

Laziness is one of the reasons why some christians are poor, like when some ought to be at office, they will be at achurch, and the bible says, the hands that doesnt eat, shd not eat.

Is the Faith all about materialism?

The book of Acts should be our guide because that should set an example as to how we need to conduct ourselves as Christians.

Acts 3: 6 -

Acts 2: 42 - 47

God has nevef created us to live in poverty, how would he want you to worship him with empty stomach.

God is a faithful God, and that was why when he created adam and eve, he had already created everything, so that they will not suffer.

So my guy, shed off poverty mentallity, cos God wants us to have everything in blessing, material, money and great health.

Whatever you cnsider to be poverty, the gospel of Jesus Christ is not about worldy riches. It is about heavenly riches; do not be deceived.

The gospel of Jesus Christ which is the basis of christianity never included material wealth, so do not be deceived.

Yeah, lack of knowledge about the financial markets. Lack of knowledge about the Labour market. If you don't know where the good jobs are then chances are you won't land a good job. But then again you can't fail to take into account simple ol' fashioned Bad Luck. Luck accounts for a lot of things. O luck, be a lady with me and not an ashewo.

And happiness comes from contentment with what you ARE! Stop having Big Eye for more than is meant for you. How does the Big Eye start in the first place?

What are the effects of Socialization on our spirituality? Ever since you are a child your entire environment pulls you away from the portion appropriated for you. "you see your mate"! How many times have we all heard that since we were growing up. What an evil thing to say! What are the implication of this statement. That you have to compare yourself to another person, your mate. The measure of your worth depends on how it compares with another person. That is pure evil. Even traditional religions will tell you that a a ki fi ori we ori. In other words we do not compare Ori (destiny). Another man's destiny cannot be the measure of my worth.

Yet they persist. After those aunties and uncles have started their evil (inadvertently I would hope so you can't blame them) with "you see your mate". Then we move to the next stage. Peers trying to make you jealous of their successes. It starts from Primary school, even nursery sef. Your friend gets an icecream and the first thing he will do is show you before he starts to eat it all by himself. It is almost as if if you are not jealous of him then he cannot properly enjoy the icecream.

All the way up to the Adult stages of life. Guys will boast about anything. Their new cars this that the other . . . . My answer for them is simple. I pray with them that as God as blessed them with THEIR OWN may God also bless me with my own. That is assuming that the new cars is theirs and they didn't steal it. By God's grace I'll never be tempted to want more than my own, Amin.

i believe strongly that christians are poor because of ignorance

Quite frankly, a christian is not to strive for the riches of this world, but for holiness.

All that a Christian does is to be for the glory of God.

Christians have always misunderstood that the riches Christ was poor for are earthly riches. God's kingdom is not of this world. A Christian's riches are not here on earth. That is not to say that a Christian must be dying of poverty.

But we are to be content with what we have and work hard to survive.

My kind of rich as a Christian may be different from another Christian's kind of rich. While others may be "sowing" for the riches of the earth, i sow for the riches of heaven.

If we stop having 'big eye' and searching for more than is meant for us, we will all be rich.

Happiness doesn't come from big cars or big houses or plenty of clothes. Happiness comes from contentment with what you have. If you see what you have as a blessing, you will be rich.

But a lot of Christians are too superficial.

I pray a lot of pastors will stop preying on the ignorance of a lot of Christians. I pray that they will stop misinterpreting the Bible for their benefits.

But I know that they shall be rewarded for their work.

Simple Christians are impoverished because they lack knowledge, it is written, My people (God’s people) are destroyed (perish) for lack of knowledge Hosea 4-6

GALATIANS 4-1

Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is Master of all

@lazarus:

God bless givers for one among many reason that is He knows that that person will give back more later. Some people just go by meeting ends but if you want to God to take care of you financially, you have to give back His money that is through tithing. In the Bible, it is commanded for God's people to tithe (a tenth of income).

Also, remember Jesus was poor and humble and became a "SUPER STAR." I think if we sincerely walk in His footsteps, we too can overcome our "Poverty lives". . . . . . are we?

some are poor because the only scripture they have meditated all thr life is it will be easier 4 a camel to pass through the eyes of a needle than 4 a rich man to make heaven, while others its their mind set. been poor or rich is a choice and a mind set.

some christians are poor because they prefer to think with their minds rather believe what the bible says. the bible is given for teaching, doctrine, so if u have a problem with in any area of life go to the word and do what the word says to do. for finance God said He will bless the labour of ur hands, so as a 1-christian u must have something for God to bless.

2-He said give and it shall be given unto you- so u must give both to god and man.

3-pay ur tithes- so he will rebuke the devourer for ur sake and cause more to come.

4- find out from the scriptures how to be properous and do what it says to do.

Look at the state of the dead Church

Revelation : 2

1Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;

2I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

3And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.

4Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

5Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

6But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate.

7He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

8And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;

9I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

10Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

11He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

AS AGAINST

The True Living Church

Rev:2

24But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.

25But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.

26And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

27And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.

28And I will give him the morning star.

29He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Seeking God's kingdom or eternal life does not mean one should be poor or lack what he or

she needs.God is rich:I cannot be a child of a rich father and be poor-(mathew 7:7)

Are you heading towards poverty? Poverty is created by man himself. Most people are poor

today because they got themselves entangled in problems before trying to be wise(medecine after death). Some are poor as a result of low vision.Financial success has principles: a deviation from these principles is an open door for financial setback.Your level of education notwithstanding.Whether you want to be rich or poor, everything lies on your choice. As a youth, your habits(life style),mindset, ability to manage finance will determine your financial position tomorrow. Though I am from a poor home, poverty is never my portion. If

you don't know how to ask for what you desire from our rich Father in heaven, my friend, you have a problem. A great man once said that "prayer may not change all things for you, but it will surely change you for all things". so i think what most youths need today is prayers for without it, they will only accomplish liitle or nothing atall. my dear friend, another thing i will add is that as youths, we put God first in our lives and we will see that every other thing will be added onto us.Contact udielazz@yahoo.com

Hi Everyone,

Thank God for you-Enolase. At least there are great Nigerians and Christians too who share similar views with me on this thread.

You're damn right my brother. Sow sparingly and you will reap sparingly. Cast a hook and you will catch a fish, cast a net and you will get a net breaking, boat sinking catch. The Word of God is just valid whether we accept it or not.

You're right again my friend, A lot of Christians are not divinely positioned for such revelations. Furthermore, some still hold on to what I call "Small Box Mentality" I have tried some of the income streams you mentioned above and I can gladly confirm the returns therein. The opportunities are just too many and waiting to be grabbed.

Finally, I join you in urging my fellow Christians and Nigerians to shed off their small box mentality and walk in the mentality of whom God says they are. Remember, "Life Delivers To You What You're Willing To Accept"

Shalom!!!

Let me spell out the answer!

I am a Christian, and so no Christian reading this should be offended.

Tithes, offerings, prophetic seeds, firstfruit offerings and vows, are all necessary so that the practising Christian will have an "open heaven" over his life. This means that the road to accessing the blessings will be there.

The problem is that Christians do not recognise the opportunities and avenues through which those blessings come. That is the problem.

If I open an account for someone and pay in N5million, and the person I opened it for does not even know that he has such an account, how does he access the money?

This is where majority of poor Christians miss it.

How many Christians are sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit to find out the various opportunities that God has placed here on planet earth for His people to be rich?

God has placed a gold mine for Christians, especially in Nigeria. But how many realise it?

I will list out here the various means open to any Christian who wants to access the blessings of God in 2007 and beyond.

1) Trading in forex.

2) Trading in the Nigerian stock exchange (NSE). I have personally made so much money since Jan 4 2007 from this. Stocks like Tripple G (500% returns on investment), Bank PHB (200% ROI), NAHCO (500% ROI) and the Insurance stocks are the hottest in the market right now.

3) The current cassava craze is a money spinner that is there for the taking. How many people know about the new Cassava ethanol refinery to be built in Kogi State? How many people know that Crown Agro Allied Investment Ltd, the company building this refinery is raw materials that are readily available locally?

4) Breeding and selling pure breeds of dogs is a goldmine. Alsatian pups go for as much as N25,000 each in PH.

5) Fish farming

The list is endless.

My advice is that Christians should open their hearts to the leading of the Holy Spirit and their ears to the news and what is happening around them and capitalize on the opportunities that currently abound.

So my fellow Christians, wake up and be counted among the rich in Nigeria today so the gospel can be sponsored!

Hello Everyone,

I quite appreciate the fact that we all are entitled to whatever views we wish. I will not contest that.

However, I would like to put forward my own opinions and understanding of some of the issues being raised on this thread. I speak as a Christian.

1. Poverty may not have anything to do with some religion but for the one I profess, it has everything to do with it. My God cannot be glorified by such a condition.

My Saviour came that I may have life and have it more abundantly.

He said that He would give me the power to create wealth.

He said that if I put my trust in Him, I shall not lack any good thing.

These and many more are the things I believe in and I walk in that understanding. God has endowed each and everyone of us with potentials to be great for His glory. If we fail to achieve greatness, then that is most unfortunate. That also does not make the word of God invalid. Does it?

I would like to say that total adherence to a religion without an understanding and reaping of its underlying benefits is not God's fault but you the adherent. I believe there are benefits here on Earth and benefits in Heaven. On Earth, we live a rich, noble and fulfilled life and in Heaven, we live for ever.

For some of us, faith may not have anything to do with wealth. But I believe with faith we can achieve our dreams, I can move a mountain, I can do all things. I can be all I ever wanted to be. But we must back it up with works, not wishful thinking. Because Faith without works is dead.

In addition, I know for sure that money is not the root of all evils but the LOVE for money is the root of all evil. When you desire wealth for the wrong purpose, it will definitely lead you astray.

Talking about provision of social services to Nigerians, each and everyone of us is responsible for that. If we use our wealth and talents to serve God and Humanity, things will be better for everyone. Secondly, when the righteous is in power, the people benefit. We must put those with the fear of God in positions of authority that the people may have a good life.

Our wealth must have a purpose which is service to God and Humanity. That way, you would have lived a noble and fulfilled life.

If the "So called Evangelists and Pastors fly in private jets", nothing stops us from getting one. True Jesus rode on a donkey. That is humility and He was poor that I might be rich. Besides He needn't ride on a chariot to prove that He is the son of the Most High God. Do you have to swim in the Bar Beach for no reason but to prove that you are the son of a great swimmer despite knowing fully well of your capabilities?. Remember when He was tempted and His response?

My people let us ask God for the correct interpretations of His word. I don't know about you but I know that I have applied the principles of wealth creation and I have seen the results. The word of God is true. It shall be well with us.

Shalom!!!!

True!

Ah, a "MyPaS" girl. I should have guessed. Hint; God would like to speak to you personally. Please allow Him.

I like "Father" personally. Please ditch this your pastor kia kia!

If you get to heaven, you have fulfilled your purpose on earth. LiKe I said, no tears, no sorrows, no regrets and no recriminations. What would be the point?

Luke 12:15 - And He said to them, "Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses."

Matthew 16:26 - For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

God bless
