Why Evangelise?

What is the point of Christian evangelism? Christian believe that those who have never heard the gospel and the words of Jesus will be judged under a different dispensation that those who have.

There are many millions of people today who have never been exposed to the gospel, nor will they ever be exposed to it. Many billions of humans have come and gone who never heard the gospel. Will such people be judge against a standard they never were exposed to?

If it is true that people will be judged against their own standard if they had never heard the gospel, then what is the point of evangelising them. In fact, ironically, evangelising them ONLY maximises their chances of ending up in hell, for once they have heard the gospel, they are automatically present with more things against which they will be judge.

What do you think?

That's why Jesus asked us before leaving the earth, to preach the gospel to every nation.

Looking at this, the gospel must be heard by all creatures living on the surface of the earth before judgement will take place.

You think of these street evangelism, but you don't know what the missionaries are doing aroung the globe. The gospel is going far and farther by the day. Everyone must hear the word that changes life. And that's the original plan of GOD.

[i]Alright then. . .

Satanism is not evil, unless you take it in the context of the 7 Deadly Sins; but that’s looking at it from the Christian perspective, not say, an atheist’s perspective. In the Church of Satan, what is being preached is to indulge onesself and deny onesself nothing. It does not condone”evil acts”, simply the satisfaction of all desires.

Much like Christianity, it is contradictory. It preaches you fulfill your desires, but does not condone, nor mandate, illegal acts or things that the general population would find immoral (human/animal sacrifice, bloodletting etc.)only when (((Ritual))) is need ,magic/Spell casting and gaining (Higher powers)).

So while people can see things as overeating, sexual pleasure and so forth as evil things, Satanism does not teach you to do things in excess. It simply says to deny onesself no pleasure. Christianity, on the other hand, denies lots of pleasure. Sex comes to mind, and self-service. Satanism also preaches love, though it focuses on loving thyself and being what people would consider . It does not preach hate or intolerance, simply that you love yourself and give yourself all that you desire. Satan worship has been used, like other religions, as justification for harmful, immoral and illegal acts. Crusades, anyone? But that is not Satanism.

Doesn’t sound so evil when you put it like that does it. Only in a Christian god’s eyes Satanism is not evil, unless you take it in the context of the 7 Deadly Sins; but that’s looking at it from the Christian perspective, not say, an atheist’s perspective. *disclaimer*

I understand other organised religions see the things stated here as evil, but the topic was Christianity so I stayed within that sphere.

Imagine the ruler of the universe noticing his favorite creatures needed guidance. He decides to write a book for them. Because he’s too busy with his hobby (counting hairs2), he’ll never make time to come down to explain or update his book. Therefore this one book, as-is, first and only edition, will have to stand on its own for all humanity for all time- even surviving translations by these error-prone men.

And knowing beforehand this book would require translations into all the languages of the world, he would not write the original in an obscure language using an even more obscure dialect, but rather in the leading language of the world at the time. He would not use cultural idioms or sayings that would require a native born speaker or a PhD in Cultural Anthropology to interpret. And he would not pick a language for which no dictionaries existed.

Realizing the importance of such a task, this god would go out of his way to make sure his book was proof: i.e. crystal clear, the points painfully obvious, and with no ambiguity. Whatever he was trying to say, he’d do the perfect job, as he is the perfect author. There would never be any question at any time over what he had written. As the creator of humans, he knows how they think, and how to communicate to them. He’d be the best writer that could ever exist. What would flow forth from his divine pen would be pure perfection- far better and clearer than anything mere mortals could author.

Well,if the Bible were indeed written by this Lord God Almighty, this is exactly what we would see. But rather we see a book that has confused mankind ever since it evolved, even sparking wars over it’s interpretation. We see a book full of ambiguities to the point where thousands of sects have written thousands of books expounding thousands of contradictory interpretations. Even within the Bible itself we find confusion concerning the quality of the writing- one author (Peter) slams another (Paul) for authoring text that was confusing5 while Paul himself (apparently confused)  held the opposite view of his own writing.6  It should be a sure sign to the Christians that they're in trouble when the books to explain the Bible are sometimes larger than the Bible itself, such as the "Encyclopedia of Bible Difficulties" at 476 pages and "Hard Sayings of The Bible" at 808 pages. Books and commentaries like these exist solely to make clear what the Bible so clearly failed to make clear in the first place.
