Sometimes the value of the mechanical work can be viewed without the use of the concepts of force and movement, focusing on the fact that work characterizes the change of energy of the body. All we may need is the mass of a body and its initial and final speeds, which will lead us to the kinetic energy. Kinetic energy (KE) is the energy belonging to the body due to proper motion. The kinetic energy of wind is used to propel wind turbines. Movable air masses exert pressure on the inclined planes of the wings of the wind turbines and make them turn around. Rotational motion by the transmission is transmitted to the mechanisms that perform a specific job. Movable water, turning the turbine of the power plant loses some of its KE to do the work.
