Lagerback Plays 2 Draws: What If It Was Amodu Shaibu?

I am yet to be convinced that the super eagle coach is the messiah,

will you rate his performance in the last 2 matches above that of

Coach Amoud Shaibu?

I think If shaibu was still there Nigerians would have asked for his removal!

Please prove me wrong

oya, tell us the difference you have spotted in the play pattern or the technical/tactical no how we were told amodu lacked that largerback has. we are waiting,

virtually the players are still making the same mistakes they were making under amodu, all the same, i still want to give largerback time before he's finally judged, his last friendly is the last I'm going to judge him with.

What on earth did j. Utaka do on the training pitch that has never been seen on the main field of play from him? i have watched j. utaka play twice now and nothing, i mean nothing is extra-ordinary from an alleged winger to write home about.

lagerback was pressurized and arm-twisted into taking kanu and utaka.

^ 100% agreed.

For reasons related to (match) fitness and expectations not being met during certain tasks done in training.

I said in one em threads that this is Amodu's team but doesnt mean they'll produce the same result.

@Kgdavid "so you honestly have not seen any difference between Amodu's team and Lagerbacks team? pls tell the truth and shame the devil"

Please we are waiting,for you,we want to put the devil to shame.

Give us the highlights and compare it to Super Eagles of Angola

people are just shoutin ideye brown, peter utaka bla bla bla but i can guarantee that 90% of you have never watched either player play. apparently Anichebe is injured. if you cant see the difference between Shuabu Amodu's team and Las Lagebacks team then something is wrong with you.

so you honestly have not seen any difference between Amodu's team and Lagerbacks team? pls tell the truth and shame the devil

well, Utaka played twice in the last 2 friendlies and there was nothing he did anyone remembered or did you see any sign of doing well in training from j.utaka when he played against Saudi and Colombia? my mind is telling me that Largerbeer was not the only one that picked this list, i think he was really influenced just as Amodu was influenced, if not, why would any sane coach to J utaka ahead of Ideyen, I.K Uche, Anichebe or even his younger brother?

^ Just one friendly match played for about 55 minutes cannot justify the inclusion of a player, especially when he is in competition with others (exceptions being the likes of Mikel, Osaze and Enyeama).

Anichebe was probably the best Naijaman against the Saudi but Lars also got to judge him in the 7 training sessions they have had. It's better to wait for Lars' official explanation and in the mean time give him the benefit of the doubt.

I too was EXTREMELY disappointed by Anichebe's exclusion. . .

@ Poster, you're totally right man.  9ja is spending a lot on the guy yet so far hs has not been impressive. I hope he leads those guys to a gud performance in the  world cup if not Amodu should just continue cos he doesn't collect upto 1/3 of what dat dude is collecting.

Well, he certainly made the wrong decision by putting Kalu Uche and John Utaka ahead of Victor Anichebe, who has worked much harder than those two.

Not to mention he didn't even wait until the last friendly to make his decision. What if somebody on his list gets injured before the next friendly match?

Pathetic.

C'mon men, its just 2 games. You cant tell how good a coach is from just 2 games. Friendly games for that matter. Do you think they'll play like this in the w/c.

Look at Ranieri for instance. He inherited the same team from Spalleti. He led them to runners up both in the league and cup. Same thing goes for Van gaal. If the team flops in SA then we can rightfully behead Lagerback but criticising him after 2 friendly games is not fair.

@blood shed

the deadline for submission of the team list is tomorrow, 1st of June so he can not wait to pick the squad after a friendly game coming up on the 6th of June. He knows why he selected these boys. He assessed them in training, which you didnt see, he assessed their performance in the last 2 games and made his selection. I was disappointed when I saw Etuhu, Shittu, Yobo, John Utaka and Ayila but he is the coach, he knows why. Another thing I'm sure of is that there was no NFF inteference so he selected them based on his set standard. Let's see how they perform at the mundial before we judge Lagerback.

Make una wait until una go see the pro-tactics NL crusaders telling you they have been playing with tactics since Amodu left, what i have seen so far is individual brilliance just like the days of Amodu as we were made to believe.

@12large

good talk,but do other Nigerians share your view,okay lets ask them;

HOW is Lagerbeer (dont know if he drinks oo) better than Nigeria's AMOUDU SHAIBU

No matter what we achieve I believe we could have achieved the same at this world cup with Siasia.

The only way Largerback can justify his salary is if he wins the world cup.

toycoach to add salt to injury nigerians yesterday were prasing the performance in quote saying "we have not seen eagles play this good in months" what kind of rubbish is that, i don't even know who is better between the two coaches both of tem are rubbish. imagine lars starting with 3 defensive midfilders, taking fat yak, lazy kanu and utaka all in the name of experience. for me eagles is still the same. people forgot that we won france 1-0 and that performance was 20 times better than yesterday. then again it is nigerians for you just too fickle
